+1 for Jeff Buckley and +1 for Nick Drake. Both were great artists who died far too young, both have a beautiful but small body of work, and both, had they stayed alive, most likely would have made some more great beautiful music.
Perfect and seconded.
I would also add John McGeoch
AND Grant McClennan
Sadly, I think they are all still alive....

Interesting criteria.
Following your thought process, I’d love to have heard what Jim Croce would’ve gone on to do.
Ludmilla: “Ahh, There’s something about Mozart!”
Boris: “I think you’re probably responding to his music”.
Back where? Like can I bring Shakira back to my place?
Oddly I was just reading the Wikipedia page on the Residents again over the weekend.
My friend Greg Smalley "The Living Bubba"
Frank Zappa and/or Miles Davis
Clifford Brown, indeed!
Glad to see his genius appreciated here
@gusgranite
Freddie Mercury
Scott LaFaro
The Police... no doubt about it...
George Duke.
He's left us far too early, and he still had so much to give
Kanye West.

He is back!
A couple of days ago, he disavowed all of the nonsense of the past couple of weeks.
Thank heavens for effective psychiatric medications!
David McComb
Yeah I saw that.

He woke from his wokeness.
Brilliant musician. Uncle Remus is still a personal favourite.
Randy Rhoads. He didnt make enough music before he left. I was going to say John Lennon, ad I do wish that he hadn't met the end he did, but he did leave behind an amazing song catalog. That doesn't sound nice and I don't mean it disrespectfully to him at all, just thinking about musical output.
+1 , go finish Ruis Noir now !
BM3?
For a musician that got a true raw deal in this life I'd go with Eva Cassidy. She deserved at least a few years being recognized for the voice she had before cancer took her off the board.
Of course, more of the best players would be great too... SRV (Guitar), Keith Emerson (Keys), Buddy Rich (you had to be there to see what's possible using basic drums), Jaco Pastorius (Bass), Michael Jackson (vocals).
jimi.
Lennon, Lemmy, John Martyn, Mark E Smith, Daevid Allen, but top of the list - my mates Stan and Andy.
Lennon or Hendrix. Would like to have seen a mature Lennon/McCartney and Hendrix was only just getting started when he left us.
Jerry Garcia
Jimi Hendrix
Miles Davis
Lowell George
Is there a developer working on this?
Yeah those are my final answers too. Would have been great to see those two get old with us.
Robert Nesta Marley
