New Bram Bos App: AU Tap Delay!?

  • The idea of 'Rozeta Audio Mangling' plug-ins would be a quite interesting approach indeed :)

As for Rozeta in general a 'Midi Echo/Delay' with pitch & velocity +/- adjustments could an interesting addition.
(This is one feature I 'abused' a lot in the early pre VST Cubase versions. Just set the number of repeats, interval, velocity +/- and note +/-).

Well it changes every week. This week is Candyland and Vegan Kosher Kush. ;)

  • Yes...

    ...please.

  • @brambos said:
Heh. It's a multi-tap delay (with a maximum delay of 2 bars), combined with a tapeloop, autopan and ambience generator. And it can process the outgoing audio using the Haas effect (aka Wavefront Precedence Effect). Essentially anything I typically need to turn dry monophonic sounds into something spatial.

Awesome. :) Now while I have plenty of delay plugs, I have a devil of a time trying to get that subtle spatial sheen on vocals. This plugin can’t come soon enough. :) Cheers.

This took a quick turn to Nerdville!
    :)

Which makes sense. I just learned last night that "OK Computer" was named after Radiohead listened nonstop to the BBC radio play of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" in the bus while touring for "The Bends." (Apparently Zaphod Beeblebrox prefaces every command to the ship, "OK, computer...." Also, the cool club that we would play when touring Toronto in the 90s was called Zaphod Beeblebrox.... Nerds, man! :) )

As I said in the tweet, it's mostly an experiment which I can put to good use myself because it was a set of tools I was missing in my AU toolbox. But I like it so much that I think I'll launch it. :)

And I'm calling the plugin "Kosmonaut: Space Explorer" B)

Would like to see all parameters modulatable by Rozeta LFOs, and with plenty of controllable randomization built in.

Yeah, it happened yesterday. Elon Musk shot a convertible Tesla into space. It has an Astronaut mannequin driving with Bowie’s Life on Mars playing on the stereo. It has Don’t Panic! on the in-dash display. It is supposed to go around the Sun, orbit Mars for a while, then head off into the vastness of the Cosmos. It was a test of the heavy booster rocket. The best part was the boosters came back to Earth and precision landed on a couple of landing pads!

  • Actually, the best thing is Bram has an effect app brewing. Back on topic... :)

  • Hopefully the delays can be melodically pitched

    • that would make it a stand out delay app ;)

Haha I saw it, I was just too opaque with my joke. I was implying that I thought it was a real man cruising through space in a convertible.

@brambos of course I’ll buy it either way, but PITCH SHIFTING would be an awesome feature! That’s what’s missing in my arsenal of AU delays :)

    +1
And while you’re at it make a nice harmonizer AU next

I have lots of delays, but would buy this for sure. I am pretty much interested in anything you release. Even if there is overlap with an app I already own, your app would probably win out because they are more fun to use and get bugs fixed overnight while I sleep. You have a lock on minimal resource wasting as well. Your apps run super efficiently. Your apps are always in play in whatever setup I am experimenting with.

    20 GOTO 10

  • Anyway, a new Brambos teaser. That means the app will be out in 20 minutes and a minor bug fix will be up early tomorrow.

  • Heck yes, I want it and will buy it. Will chime in also with the customary randomizer wish.

  • More teaser on the way? You got me with the space Ambient comment anyway ;-)
    Really excited to hear it

  • I wonder, could it be possible to design a Brambos Audio Follow app. Might be technically impossible, or not something that enough folks would buy. But...

The kind of thing I have in mind, is something that can work out the tempo and key of an audio track, then send to a midi app to provide appropriate accompaniment. With randomisation, of course.

If anyone can do it, the Bos is the man.

  • I wouldn’t mind seeing a BramTranceGate

:D “Dad jokes” are the funniest jokes, especially when your kids roll their eyes and become embarrassed. It’s a grand tradition you never understood at their age but understand once you have your own offspring. Cheers mate.

  • Oh the joys of the Dad joke. I make 'em all the time and my father-in-law chuckles, so at least I'm in good with him.
