Been a while since I was in Cubasis land...

Does the app have midi file export yet?

It has a mixdown to Midi file, if that’s what you mean.

Forgive me but, how do y’all sync Black Wave in Cubasis? Blocs Wave is crucial to my ‘workflow’.. loving Cubasis otherwise..

Simply effective... No rocket science req.

I can’t get Blocs to behave correctly with Link on, as it refuse to sync to the start of the Link loop cycle. So what I do is turn off Link in Blocs, and host both Blocs and Cubasis in Audiobus. I set tempo manually in both apps, and use Audiobus to start both simultaneously. Maybe incorporating Midi Link sync could improve it, but it works good enough for me for now.

    Perfect, thanks!

I used to do this with MIDI Link Sync...but recently I have been having issues with MIDI Link Sync receiving MIDI Clock from Cubasis and the Lumbeat drum apps...I have had to start using MIDIFire to receive clock from Cubasis and then forward it onto MIDI Link Sync....It gets very messy setup wise but works....
What I am now doing is exporting from blocs at the earliest opportunity and importing the file into Cubasis.

Thanks... I hope they implement Ableton Link soon.. Seem to be the only thing missing for me..
Guess I will have to do a mixdown of my projects and play it in another DAW (with Link) to sync Blocs for now..

The Midi Effect feature is golden... .

  • In case, you use Model D with Cubasis 2.4, please have a look right here:

  • Anyone else having issues creating new new subfolders for samples in the new files app integration?

I added and removed some folders and it got all wonky on me.

You can't add subfolders at this point

  • Could swear in a video I saw them do it through files app

You can, but they appear in the root folder when browsing in Cubasis with the built in browser. In Files, the folder/sub folder is the same, but in Cubasis all folders and sub folders appear at the same level. If, in Files, you make a folder with nothing but sub folders within, this folder will appear empty in Cubasis, but the missing sub folders are actually listed at the same level as the empty parent folder.

    • Can one Rozeta plugin in Cubasis drive multiple synths, or is it limited to the synth where it is added as a midi fx?
    • How do you setup Rozeta arp to be driven by an incoming chord sequence in Cubasis? Or can you only use the keyboard with the arp? Wondering because of this midi fx connection.

I couldn't find documentation or videos explaining this, and I don't have the app to try it out.

It's in the help documents inside Cubasis (under what's new).
You can route recorded midi thru the plug-in and also record thru the plug-in, there's some check boxes at the top right when a midi plug-in is shown that give you different options/combinations.

I’m glad Files support has been added. This really is a decent update.

However, I’m still waiting for the ability to reorder effects and have been waiting for a fair few years now (or at least for there to be more effects slots). How much longer will this take? I like putting the EQ at the end of an effects chain, not at the beginning, and given I’d only have two other effects slots available to me were I to add the Q10 at the end of the FX chain, this really limits what I can do with my mixdown.

Did Steinberg ever promise you this feature?

  • When Steinberg updates Cubasis, they really don’t mess around. Every time some major annoyances get remedied and they roll out some major new features as well. It’s like getting a new app, where there are cool new things to tryout and new workflow enhancements to incorporate.

Thank for your hard work and awesome DAW, Steinberg crew. :)

  • For some reason I'm always hesitant about this because I use Aum and ableton at home. It seems pretty slick though.

It really is slick, but it’s still iOS. Abelton can still do much, much more. But Cubasis on iOS is amazing, just don’t expect desktop level features and capabilities (yet :) ).

Bugger, that is a long to do list! Unfortunately we have items like that at work which a couple of people are clamouring for but never seem to make the cut.

On the plus side, limitations are supposed to be a great creative motivation.

True, lol, but in this case, even a buss system would help greatly and make a difference. ;) It’s my secret to decent mixes in Auria after all given four slots sometimes aren’t enough but unlimited busses fix the issue.

You guys need to talk, lol! :D

So what you could do is setup your audio tracks in AUM using the File Player and setup your busses and effects, then send the AUM tracks into Cubasis. You can also send Midi out of Cubasis into AUM to drive your synths, which then can be sent through your busses and effects, and then sent back into Cubasis to record. Or you could always use the AudioShare recorder to capture the audio file of the synth, with or without the effects applied, and then load that audio into an audio track in Cubasis.

Slightly wonky, but you do what you gotta do. :)

So the short, general answer is AUM can be used to extend the capabilities of Cubasis, and make up for some of the features Cubasis currently lacks.

  • How about The Flexphraser as an IAP? Seems perfect as a Midi-effect app...

Or is it in there.. just that I cannot find it.. :s :o

  • Agree. So one can see AUM as that external mixer of your dreams where you can host all your AU effects and send to subs etc the have all those subs sent to Cubasis as IAA channels and record the audio all effected or dry as you wish. I would do dry so that you can resend the audio out of Cubasis back into AUM and add effects, wait is this even possible?

Not used Cubasis for a good while but just found a pretty disappointing bug.

I have Zeeon loaded and soloed on one track while I was tweaking the sound, but find that when tapping on the timeline to go back earlier in the song, the preset switches.

Is this a known bug? Anybody else experienced this?

The app has definitely improved in other areas since I last visited. Midi editing is much smoother now.

  • ^^ AH. Looks like this could be to do with program changes included in the imported midi file.

    Will do more testing.

Cubasis sends to AUM as a stereo output of everything audible. Same with how it sends to Audiobus. But you can use the Files app to quickly load your Cubasis audio tracks into AUM file players, and keep on truckin’. :)
