The pre-ripped jeans are always more expensive than the regular ones you have to break in yourself.

Don’t get me started on Relic’d guitars ...

I never did understand that, and have in fact had the thought of becoming a 'jean breaker-iner' and try to get paid for breaking jeans in for peeps...on top of salary it would also mean free 'new' jeans every couple of weeks :D

  • I think I’m just cranky because I imagined that warbly cassette noise was my own secret thing and now everybody can just buy the app and push the button…

  • It’s not up to Fab Filters Saturn combined with Lo-Fly Dirt AU, but is is interesting. Not sure they are going to sell many above the current price, though.

  • Instabuy both versions.

  • Lost interest in this one quickly. Even thought I'd try to beta it, but after playing with the free web browser version for awhile... kinda lost interest in about 20mins.

Might've gone for this in the low budget category of apps... but for $8 is doesn't really do that much for me. At least, it didn't really offer much more in audio warping than many fx I already have.

  • How does this compare to Master Record?
    Anyone?

If anyone has this plus Virsyn Tap Delay how do they compare?
Wonder if Virsyn will bring V Tape to iOS?

  • Interested in comparing this to lofly and master record. I am mostly making lofi these days so super interested in more! Is it wobbly folks?

I'd like to know this too. I just got out Master Record for it's tape simulations and love it for it's subtlety. Also just messed around with a Grind combo the dev Chris recommended for organic tape loop sound, ie. Grind, using 2PLP and Soft Sat also with no wavetable. use Rough Rider to smooth edges.

Messed with Tape Delay's "Music Cassette" preset, and also tried mixing it with the Grind combo.

I think I'm pretty much covered for this sort of organic tape-like sound. Like I said, I played with the free web version and it was fun... but didn't really inspire me to pull the trigger on this. Not sure I'd get much use, but curious how it compares to some of these other methods.

Master Record is still the king of subtety, but the Klevgrand has a very good character to it that I find irresistable. I don’t know if this will make sense to you the same way it does me, but I see Master Record as applying a production technique vs. Web Cassette as being a fun effect in the chain.

  • How does the released iOS AUv3 version compare to the free browser version?

If I wasn’t all that attracted to the web version after a 15min play, am I likely not to dig the iOS version that much either?

Thanks went for it based on your recommendation here. I like it a lot.

Anyone used the recent Tascam 688 plugin? I forget what it's called but read about it last week and been meaning to check it out. Wonder how similar/different that is to this?

  • Damn between this and Grand Finale, Klevgrand is on a roll. Was never a fan of their synths but I’m loving the mastering/polish stuff

  • Both platforms: two of the most insta-Take My Money purchases of the year so far.

    @sundhage and team Klevgrand: <3 !

FWIW I didn't enjoy using the web version. Partly down to being buggy for me. But I dig the plugin. Do you have a laptop/desktop? You can demo it on those platforms and get a clear picture of what you're getting.

    Thanks

Yeah, the web one was kinda buggy for me too... might've been what turned me off initially, now that I think about it. Had to try a couple different browsers, hung up, etc. Gave up on it quickly because of it I reckon.

I do have a desktop and Logic. I'll just download the demo and see if it's something I think I'll use much. My own metric for apps that are just fun every now and then is under $5. Over that, and I have to justify that I'll actually use it a fair bit. On the fence with this one... considering all the other "tape like" effects I already have.

  • I’m curious if this will approach the vibe of my beloved Instant Lo-Fi. It’s a pain to set up external effects with my setup so I’m hopeful that I can replace yet another guitar pedal with an onboard solution.

Yeah definitely worth demoing if the web version was buggy for you too.

I don't have any other ios lofi tape plugs so I'm stoked on grabbing this one. Not the cheapest plugin in the store but pretty good deal considering how much I'm likely to use it.

Just played with the demo. Not much to this is there? Meh... I don't think I'd use it instead of what I already have. I can see a marginal nostalgic appeal, and it's a bit quicker to get that sound than the other fx I have. But, I think I'm gonna pass. Might put a watch on it via appshopper for a killer sale at some point.

One question though... the demo on desktop doesn't come with an uninstall routine. Is it just the au component and the vst to delete... and that's all?
