No, but according to an article that I read by a reputable epidemiologist at the Berkeley School of Music, you will probably get Cronavirus from it, or from someone who has been using it. So far only the beta testers are in this high-risk group, but that could all change some day. The worst is yet to come, I'm afraid.

Thank you! Now we can go off with another 50-post debate about whether it's ridiculous, whether people should just avoid reading threads they don't like, freedom of expression, etc. ...

When the Clash references failed to get traction I was afraid we might have to resort to Chuck Norris jokes again.

But seriously, could you please provide some details about what you think is ridiculous about a thread that's not even two years old and is still under 5,000 posts for an unreleased app with no projected delivery date? Some of us are trying very, very hard to keep this thread focused and relevant, so any helpful specifics you can supply would be much appreciated.

In the meantime. Anybody want to share a guitar preset demo made with Drambo?
Or a nice Organ, noisy Flute or human voices.
I just ask because i really like modular synthesis to do some semi-realistic stuff and i sometimes find audio rate modulations with the right envelopes, filters, saturation and FX sounds better than physical modeling. At least if you want something simple just controlled via velocity and play it on a normal keyboard.

Can you send a miRack patch that does one of the sounds that you have in mind?

I do not use miRack. I prefer more the analog side of modulars. (Model 15 on iOS, P900 on mac which is quite the best for these kind of modular sounds f.e.).
Since Zeeon has that nice analog flavor and it seems Drambo can do everything and more Zeeon can do i could imagine that these things are possible now. It might also be the only modular which is actually fun to use on an iPad/iPhone.
As much as i like Model1 5, the workflow is terrible for me.

Here some parameters locked to scenes and controlled by the crossfader plus some main transpose. On a iphone 6s. Not related to your request for specific sounds which im sure @rs2000 will show you in great mannor.

No samples just drambo syntheses, nothing special and low quality video but maybe you like.

Thank you! All your examples really sounds great and i like your style too.
I experienced that audio rate modulations, especially with the right envelopes and saturation really can achieve interesting organic sounds. Not actually like real acoustic instruments but almost like you would play one.
So far most modulars lack here in iOS but i have a good feeling that Drambo brings me closer to what i like to do (at least when i see what i already can do with Zeeon and what modules are coming with Drambo).
So usual a "test" if a modular is great for me and audio rate stuff works accurate is just trying to recreate acoustic sounds like guitars, harmonium, organs, really fluttering brassy sounds and even human voices which sound not as synthetic as in many other synths but using only normal analog waveforms like saw f.e. and subtractive synthesis.
I see that Drambo (as Zeeon) comes with different saturation at different stages. Saturation and the right gain staging is a really big part of these sounds.
Maybe even the most important part are also the right envelopes. So many synths just lacks in really fast and "snappy" envelopes. Here also i trust in Beepstreet since Zeeon and also Dagger on mac is great.
So while i´m waiting for P900 for iOS (and it might happen) Drambo is the best bet here. Plus it makes a 100 things more.
I´m actually not interested in kind of super huge VCV, miRack presets which ends in just an ambient texture or blip, bloop, blobs when i can do the same with 3 modules.
Maybe strange but i find modular synthesis actually also the most easy to use and also which let me create really fast and easy interesting moving sound with just a simple waveform, 1 filter and 2-3 modulations.
While i´m used to use virtual cables i think also that Drambo goes a great new innovative way, especially on a touch screen for a modular.
Well, i´m already sure it will replace all my iOS synths when it comes.

Alright then, where's DRAMBO? Five Drambo icons hidden in this image ... (apologies to author) ... ah they might be too small to see. Original image is more than 2x resolution.

There's hope. I have very much the same experience with Model 15 and Audulus and zMors Modular to me haven't been as fun as Drambo so far. If you've ever had a Nord Modular in your hands, this is a somewhat similar experience except editing is more straightforward, you don't need wires and you can have multiple modular rigs (tracks) simultaneously.
And you'll get modules that Model 15 can only dream of.
Plus a sequencer lane for each track which includes p-lock automation.
And it works quite well on an iPhone. Although the UI is reduced, it's still usable even on an iPhone 5SE.

I think you answered your own question there chief.

The bit below is not directed at you, but to ‘the team’, unless you’re part of it, in which case, it is.

For some of us lesser beings on the outside, this very dominant thread is a frustrating place to visit. A forum within a forum with a closed membership. Yeah I know, if you don’t like it don’t read it blah blah, but it’s here, and I do. And when I do, every month or so, I’ll see a bunch of posts saying it’s imminent (whoopee), and other bunch saying it’s still ‘a work in progress’ (oh). Like today.

So any attempts at keeping the thread ‘focused’ are falling very short - not by the great unwashed who dare to ask when it will be ready - but by those supposedly in the know. Mixed messages. Raised hopes.

So don’t kick those of us who pop in to try to find out when we can give the developer our money, sort yourselves out, and provide a unified response for potential customers who have a genuine desire to purchase the app you’ve all enjoying using for the last two years.

    Please.

It was sarcasm (or more accurately, irony) - directed as much at myself as the other person. 😂😂😂

Not funny if you have to explain - so I guess I completely failed.😎

  • Actually, the coronarubbish has taken the heat out of Drambo for me (or put it into trivial context), but I do think that releasing it now with the encouragement to use it while isolating would be a nice touch/consideration by the developer etc. :)

some commenters here seem to be confusing 'the team' with the dev. None of the testers have any more knowledge than you all as to when the release date is. It feels very close to being ready, but it's not up to anyone except for the one person who is working around the clock to build this thing.

'the team' is working diligently to assure that that the basic functionality is solid upon release so that the man can then focus on the endless todo list and building new modules. Releasing it before the foundation is 100% solid would be a mistake.

we've all got hundreds of great apps to use in the meantime. if this thread makes your blood boil, then remove yourself from the boiling pot and make some music.

I don't think any of us will miss the news once giku drops the release date. There will probably be 10 new threads sounding the alarms.

To those spreading the fake news that Giku is developing this purely for his own endless enjoyment and that the beta team is somehow just egging him on to keep it all for themselves.. you really couldn't be further from the truth. Not a single one of you here wants this to be done more than the dev himself. You think he doesn't want to get paid for his labor? :D He's wise enough to know that a cake gets fucked up when you take it out of the oven too soon.

OK this one's gonna mess with your head. In this grid are 3 variations of the Drambo icon, but only one variation is correctly coloured. To complicate things, they are shown in multiple orientations. Find all the icons which are correctly coloured :)

  • I've seen people comparing Drambo to the Nord Modular's editor. I loved how fast its UI was. Prefered it over most other software modulars. Hopefully Drambo is close.

Is Drambo's p-locking really like Elektron's? Or is it like Grooverider, which isn't similar. With Elektron p-locking, there is a default value that it snaps back to. Plus there are parameter lock glides.

Similarly, I would assume that those who don't want to participate in my new thread, DRAMBO FANBOYS SUFFER FROM A STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT INCIDENCE OF ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION, you know, those guys won't post in that one, either. :)

But,but... The Clash’s discography is actually quite deep. Five albums (not counting Cut the Crap), one of which was a double, another was a triple. Plus - numerous non-album (and great) singles and interesting bootlegs. Most were not hits - those came in the latter and IMHO somewhat inferior latter half. I’m willing to talk about it if anyone wants to do so. Might be better than the anxious mutterings about Drambo. I’ll be here... (sound of whistling)

You’re so wrong. They have like 4 songs and I’m cool because I know a 5th one that other people don’t know.

Saying they have a deep discography is like saying that Cliff Burton was the backbone of Metallica. Everyone knows they really shined with St. Anger.
