Will the boys at the back be able to figure it out?

I think this one is fairly intuitive. You don’t have to be a modular whiz to get to grips with the patching workflow and the sequencer is pretty straightforward.

beta fam, have you tried making a looper style setup with Drambo? tight audio clip recording and launching would work foir me too! i saw sumthin bout a clip launcher a few pages back but thar be dragons.

I think I may have likened the pattern setup to a clip launcher a few pages back. It’s not exactly that, ie. currently all tracks switch on a pattern change, so no independent clips per track.

There is audio recording, it’s not fully featured yet, I don’t think. However you can record samples on trigger and then play it back.

Here I am spreading misinformation again. There are a few other modules which should be able to record and playback samples in octatrack style...haven’t played with that feature and not exactly clear how it works. I believe it is planned.

Thank you, thank you. After these 100 pages (almost!) I'm really hoping Drambo doesn't go in my 'For when you're smarter' folder...there's already far too much dusty stuff in there :)

  • @JohnnyGoodyear heres a video posted by giku, building a simple synth. The sequencer is just holding a step and tapping a key/pad. Holding down a step and turning a knob to set parameter locks.

Only those worthy of Drambo can actually see this video.

I personally cannot deal with modulars. Too many cables and bits floating around, too much scrolling back and forth.

Drambo feels different because it is more of a groovebox. Furthermore there will be several ways to approach it: building stuff from scratch or using presets and everything in between.

You’ll still need to learn the UI inc how p locks work etc. Which ain't rocket science but takes a bit getting used to.

For me the motivator was to get back impactor into my life but also the sound design flexibility.

Most things you want can be done without a fuss. Finding out what you want might be another matter entirely. ;)

  • Really looking forward to trying this out when it eventually drops, although I’m hoping it isn’t too complex.

One of Drambo's strongest points is that it is quick and not over complicated and also a strength of using an Ipad in conjunction with a host app like AUM.

  • Only posting to try and make page 100. And why not.

  • I want candy... ehh dramby.... aahhh DRAMBO

  • How about, first post on page 100 gets to join the beta team?

    Oops!

The slide over to add module motion is so intuitive I was trying to use it in ToneStack to add effects yesterday! Needless to say it hasn’t worked.

  • All the best and a great start into 2020 @giku_beepstreet

P.S. the beta is enough for me right now! First modular (on iOS) I've really been interested in.
