I’d like to try it on the Turnado Dictator for some enveloped synced mayhem. Also will modulate some tape warbly saturation with Daw cassette tape/head quality.
Think I’d have a go at chaining envolvers and modulating itself which might cause a rip in the space time continuum...
Btw can you invert the envelopes?

Hmmm.... It'll be interesting to find out how snappy these envelopes are. Will we be able to put any sound inside the volume envelope of any other sound? Very interesting sound lab stuff if so - run a drum machine on a muted track to make punchy, snappy envelopes for a string quartet? If you really want to get sound arty, maybe put industrial factory noise inside the volume envelope of a farmyard field recording? Mechanical animals.
Putting it after a delay set to 100% wet (again, on a muted track) could probably turn out something interesting too - you could have repeats manifesting as filter cutoff modulations, rather than echoes. It's a bit vanilla, that one, but it might be practical. And of course, you could modulate the delay that's feeding it.
Hard to say before we see it.
I would try FAC Envolver on the voice delay slider in Virsyns Harmony Eight. Or Virsyns Tape Delay and there also the delay time, but there seems MIDI learn got a bug.

I’d probably try FAC Evolver assigned to an external mic input on one iOS device in a public space, run from Audreio into a second iOS device that also has an external mic input. But I’d have the second FAC Evolver instance modulating the sound of a Tibetan Singing bowl on the second mic.

Never read a manual for a game. Today’s games can send my eyes screwy, so I play only a little. But back in the day I specialised in trying to do stuff the programmers had not anticipated. When I got it right, and found a loophole, it was more fun.
I would probably use FM amount or wavefolding as a CC destination, in synth apps like Ripplemaker and Model 15. As audio source I would try the output itself. The louder the output, the more intense the FM amount. Similar to MIDI velocity, but different because the amplitude of the output signal as well as the envelope follower of FAC Envolver will behave less predictable.
What I would like to use as audio sources are natural sounds. A recording of rain has a lot of irregular short amplitude spikes. With different threshold levels one should achieve a lot of variation in the resulting CC value stream. However, some rain recordings do have rhythmic structures, for example inside a tent. Listening carefully one can discert several regular patterns which are interwoven into a grand polyrhythmic superstructure. Such sources seem most interesting because they have some order and rhythm in the randomness, which can be used as a basis or background for a musician.
In modular synthesis, resulting CC values could also be used as logical switches. On-off, and switch from one audio or modulation source to another, for example in Audulus where raw CC data can be filtered and translated. Or in Lemur for MIDI processing only.
It has been mentioned to use FAC Envolver for tempo changes. This is something interesting for modular synthesis too, like for the famous "Krell" patch. What will certainly be a good use for FAC Envolver is to use single drum mics or drum tracks with a single sound, to modulate delay time. In the attack phase the delay time is short, in the decay phase the delay time gets longer.
I would definitely try it in a guitar setup. I would put it after Bias Fx and route it to different effects to create a dynamic effects chain for the guitar. It would be great to have envelope controlled vibrato, flanger and tremolo!

Would like to try FAC ENVOLVER out with some of the classics ie ThumbJam, Nave, Animoog to get started. @FredAntonCorvest after listening to the 2 demos you put up on U Tube the vibe makes me feel personally that FAC ENVOLVER is a ideal tool for creating EDM, Soulful House, Deep House Vibes kind of stuff with various synths so will give that a go. Just my two pennies worth!
Wow, so many creative ideas here already and lastly I’ll return here to try a lot of them out. Initially I’m very keen to try triggering some effects on my saxophone from the contour such as wobble, filter, some multi-tap delay, etc. Then I want to expand that idea to several instrument inputs such as a horn section and have them duck and interact with each other. Definitely one of the more interesting FX I’ve seen on iOS lately! Fred you are on a roll.

Wanted to get into the city but I’m not as close as I thought I’d be. Will be here another 10 days
I've been teaching my 10 year old nephew the basics of synthesis with https://vcvrack.com/ and it's been a truly rewarding experience. I was a bit overwhelmed at first as I don't have much modular experience, but it turns out I'm learning as much as he is and it's sparked modulation ideas I'd never dreamed of before with my limited hardware synths.
Ease of use, good visual design, and customization seem to be the elements of the best modules. So the FAC stuff certainly fits the bill.
Gonna do my best not to overwhelm him w the plethora of ios apps, but now that I've got him excited about the endless applications for LFO's and Envelopes, I think Envolver would be an easy sell. Can't wait to hook it up several instances to Aalto, VCS3, VCVrack, Waldorf Blofeld, and all the other heavy hitters.
I’d be trying all sorts of things.....
Have an arp running a synth (model d) and then use the input from my guitar to control the volume....kinda like a vocoder but using guitar instead of voice.
As above but with voice as the control signal.
Use it to control the threshold in FAC Maxima when mastering.....so the lower the volume the more effect Maxima will have.
To control the eq amount on a track to make space for another...so 2 trumpets, one with envolver controlling the cut of the eq on the other, so only reducing eq on second trumpet when needed to allow the other to cut through.
I have to say, the best uses of this tool will probably come with lots of tinkering. That will be half the fun of it.
As far as dreaming up epic ideas, here is my best attempt:
MIDI guitar layers
Envolver can be set to respond to a specific input threshold. So my input signal will be my guitar, with any sound above a certain threshold (maybe -15db ) triggering Envolver. When activated, the MIDI cc will control the input volume of an audio to MIDI app. So when I play above -15db, the audio signal goes to the audio-MIDI converter and my playing will be converted to MIDI notes. But when I play notes below -15db I get just guitar.
The beauty of Envolver means that I can also set up the inverse MIDI cc to decrease the guitar dry output when the audio to MIDI is triggered.
Then end result should be a setup for solo, live guitar that plays normal quietly, but when I really pluck the notes loudly it converts to a MIDI guitar (synth, strings, bass, whatever I want)!

Im thinking mapping the same midi cc numbers on this and also to AC sabre gestures would be seriously fun and expressive.... Maybe set up Nave, Sunrizer and Animoog as the receivers driven by Fugue Machine. Can get a lot happening on older devices by using the golden oldies
