  • Since no one else mentioned it yet: what about controlling video effects on an app like Takete. Takete midi-mappable controls for almost every parameter.

I could imagine a kick drum triggering visual effects or a reverb bus going through Enveloper to change color, etc.

It’s out in the UK, here’s the link

I’m going to wait for Doug’s link, though.

I think just appending his code (from other links) works just as well.

Out in Aussie store too, fun times ahead, cheers Fred! :)

  • Off to buy this now so not looking for a code, but the two most obvious uses for me would be auto swells and auto wah. Will test it out.

  • Here is my tutorial for Envolver, it has its own thread too for people who don't know about the app yet.

    Heres my link too

  • Thx Doug!

There are a lot of great ideas in this thread, but i will take a special look into this one for my live acts. Thank you and all the other contributers.

And thank you Doug for your video/s!

  • I'll keep this app on the watch-list until more hosts properly support it.

Currently Cubasis is lacking in the Midi CC-Routing department and BM3 has it's share of hassles to route Midi CC from one input to an AU-Paramater(s) etc. etc.

Don't know if Midi-Routing in Cubasis is on the to-do list, only @LFS knows.

I for one would love to feed one midi-track to multiple destinations for easy layering of sound without having to create duplicate tracks. (In essence being able to load multiple instruments (built-in and AUv3's) to the same track with simple velocity & note-range filtering).

I usually have extremely bad luck in raffles but I'm happy for those 10 who eventually get their freeFAC Envolver promo-code :)

  • I‘d be interested in taking short spoken audio (from poetic recitations etc) and see how its rhythmic force can shape and alter sounds

Nice, I hope we can get AU parameter exposure in Audiobus one day.. Although it should work with apps which have midi learn/ pre baked CCs :) (after the new update is released)

  • You’re a star, @FredAntonCorvest! Thank you!

  • Thank you so much Fred very kind of you!! Can’t wait to dive in :) :)

  • Amazing, thanks so much Fred, it's going to get a lot of use from me :D

I have to say, the best uses of this tool will probably come with lots of tinkering. That will be half the fun of it.

As far as dreaming up epic ideas, here is my best attempt:
    MIDI guitar layers
Envolver can be set to respond to a specific input threshold. So my input signal will be my guitar, with any sound above a certain threshold (maybe -15db ) triggering Envolver. When activated, the MIDI cc will control the input volume of an audio to MIDI app. So when I play above -15db, the audio signal goes to the audio-MIDI converter and my playing will be converted to MIDI notes. But when I play notes below -15db I get just guitar.
The beauty of Envolver means that I can also set up the inverse MIDI cc to decrease the guitar dry output when the audio to MIDI is triggered.

Then end result should be a setup for solo, live guitar that plays normal quietly, but when I really pluck the notes loudly it converts to a MIDI guitar (synth, strings, bass, whatever I want)!

Dude, this is EXACTLY the first use case that I came up with. I have found that what I really want with MIDI guitar is just accenting. Anyway, glad to hear I"m not the only one futzing with this stuff out here...

  • @FredAntonCorvest , can you send the Twitter competition codes, I can’t wait to try this, thanks

  • @FredAntonCorvest

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Finally an real answer to this: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/comment/488731
    !!!

I can't even believed we waited so much for such an app.

Personally, one of the first thing I'll try is creating a Envelop-Pitch follower with the whammy of Tonestack.
(unfortunately the only decent pitch effect I know on Ios)

My goal is to mimic the sound of the Indian tablas, when I hit the wood of my instrument.

  • Ah, not among the chosen. :'( Happy days and congratulations to those here who did win.

    Me neither :( ...

I hope all their envelopes melt and Envolver has nothing to follow :D

  • I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS.

  • I can’t wait to use this to run my Phillip’s Hue Lighting System. Going to try to use it to control my whole Smarthome if the lights go well. I think I figured out a way to get it to turn my regular car into a Self-driving car, but I may need to wait for Perforator to do it right.

  • Wow, it’s here already! iOS 10 laggers ain’t gonna be happy, though.
Thank for this awesome tool. It will prove quite useful, and I have been searching for this effect on iOS for a while now.
    You are awesome, @FredAntonCorvest ! B)

Thanks a million, looking forward to fire up this one later on!!

  • Would love to know how people are doing with using it in BM3.

I'm thinking by routing the data from the Midi Port created by the AUv3 to the Macro Knobs...

That’s the only way I’ve got my head around. Some sample pads have midi mappable parameters but so far not got this to work.

The whole ‘focus action’ malarkey is a bit of a hurdle

I know, it's a real pita to be honest...

Personally I'd love to see a proper 'matrix' to route 'stuff' inside BM3 for example from one pad in a bank to a pad in anther bank for starters and a parameter from one input to any parameter. It can and will get complex for sure, like the environment in Logic Pro X.
