Just hit here too - two updates within an hour for me!!!

I think it’s an AppStore bug. I had 3 or 4 updates for the Suggester app yesterday, but i noticed it was always the same version number.

Nice update just tried it, I like the metronome and bar count. Rozeta Cells transport sync seems to be fixed.

However, on iPhone version at least built in keyboard button has disappeared, we have to click on three dot button which is on bottom now to open it. Also in certain situations I have to scroll up to open midi patchbay. It’s less convenient IMO.

Is the keyboard button removed on iPad update too?

It’s still there bottom right of screen on iPad version.

  • I don't think anything has been removed at all. But, the layout did get adjusted/tweaked to accommodate more display features.

Really I can’t see it anymore on iPhone 7 Plus

Have to click on triple dot

Also it’s now need to scroll up to click on midi patchbay

  • Can’t resist, mail with features request sent. Not so tired :D

I think it's a major challenge to support interfaces for iPad and iPhone. Even if something will fit on my iPhone SE, the dev is still trying to accommodate screen size all the way down to iPhone 4.

Yes I know that. He certainly has made this choice for some reason.

Maybe he has an iPhone 4? ;)

  • Another really nice update this one :) Native audio interface support didn't make it in this one but hopefully next time. But having fun with Ableton Link start/stop and higher bit depth recording.

Also included is documents in place support, but since apeMatrix doesn't need to load external files,
I'm not sure when this would be used, unless it's making way for something to be added in the future....

Don't forget to update 5 star reviews ;)

  • Argh. Thankful for the update, but the color override for plugins such as StreamByter is driving me nuts. Editing when the cursor is invisible is maddening.

I'm finding that new visual metronome dash animation across to top a lot more useful than I thought it'd be.

    Yeah, it's a good feature that :)

  • It updated, but when I open it, the timer is running by itself, and there’s a bar at the top moving from left to right. It looks weird. Is this expected behavior?

Dev explained me that keyboard button has been removed because of iPhone 4. I should buy an iPhone 4 as ApeM has some optimization for it! Hope it will run Model D crackle free :D

Yeah this is Ableton Link timing running continuously in the background, if you turn that off it stops. So it makes sense and is a useful thing. I thought it was initially a bit distracting but you get used to it :)

You can also change the grid from 4/4, very useful for timing things.

Ok. I’ll try to ignore it. 😁 thanks!

  • Just posted my intro video for apeMatrix:

There's another thread about it too, but I thought I'd drop it here for those following....

  • Oh yeah! Love the metronome. Much needed.

  • To those who own both ApeMatrix and Loopy.

Can Loopy be assigned as an output or does it (like with AUM) require Audiobus to achieve that?

    You will need AB!

    We need Loopy AU ;)

iPhone version could be so nice and fast to use with such buttons layout. I've submitted this to ApeM dev, fingers crossed!! He has already answered me he will try to restore keyboard button in latest release :)
    Just love this app :p

  • Has someone noticed that apeMatrix sometimes may take a long time to load an AUV3 (about 5mn). Or stay without loading the plugins. The + button still blink without loading anything.

  • Yes I had that issue when making my tutorial, even after several reboots. I had to wait 10 minutes and try again.

  • @Janosax ok thanks for your response. It is quite annoying because it cames very often I think...

I noticed that AU load again much better when opening a preset by doing the following:

    • after a session, go to preset menu and tap « init »
    • close apeMatrix and wait for 10 seconds
    • open apeMatrix again, dismiss last session recall and load your preset via presets menu.
    • follow those steps all the time or it will be difficult to load AU even after a hard reboot.
    • works better with some juice in battery, with less than 20% on my iPhone 7 Plus some AU still have some difficulties to load, even when using this workaround which seems however to helps with AU unload.
  • For me it seems to occur for one project that I am working on... it is annoying that I can't easily work on it.

I Will try your method. Thank you @Janosax

  • Does it happen with specific apps ?

  • I've had that too with some apps like Synthmaster one, but a reset should do the trick. but yeah the AU in the project in question could be bugged some how.
