  • @Dawdles Hmm, this does not happen on my iPad Pro 10.5 IOS 11.3.1.
Perhaps you reached the maximum number of voices (stated in the polyphony field in the top left of the GUI, which was not visible in the video)
Which preset were you using for your test ?

@kv331audio_bulent thank you for the update and for the AUFX. Very classy! Love that you are here answering all the queries as well.

    @Dawdles
It's done already! Its placement was not noticeable.
I see Background Audio too and turned on by default.

Would feel less hairy/more comfortable for tweaks and performance if there was a settings option for ‘double tap on small knobs = big knob + numerical value entry pop-up window’. Beatmaker 3 has this kind of thing and it works pretty well. I imagine the knobs are no issue on the desktop version of sm1 with mouse, but I’m finding them really fiddly and problematic on a 9.7” touchscreen...

Good point. I think I can add this feature easily for all knobs/sliders

  • This update has really ironed out the things I was struggling with in my sound design endeavors. Just spent several hours with SM1—all of which were frustration-free. Must express again my gratitude for @kv331audio_bulent and his dedication to this synth and its users.

Side note: what is this little graphic that appears when tapping just below the preset name?

Yeah, I mentioned that in my earlier comments along with suggestions to add speedometer/bar graphs for Voices and CPU usage alongside their readings

That would really add to user-friendliness. At times, when I'm trying to twist a knob back to 1 octave, it takes many tries before I get is to 1 octave accurately without any decimal values even while using a stylus

Also, the BPM box goes behind the keyboard while entering its value.

Was it ever revealed as to what that actually is? Interestingly enough when I tried to take a screenshot of it I accidentally locked my iPad. And when I unlocked it that mystery graphic remained visible—as opposed to it only being visible with a tap/hold. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for mystery graphics. I just want to know if it serves a purpose.

No clarification was made by the dev.
Apparently, an Easter Egg inside the app, LOL

  • ^ I thought, I know that's a dangerous thing sometimes, that it might be Midi Panic. Any more speculations before Bulent puts us straight?

Hmm, doesn’t seem to behave like a MIDI panic. For example the existing Panic button in settings will kill a held note but the mystery graphic will not. Maybe it’s intended as a shortcut to load random preset? Or a Morse Code portal? Or every time it’s tapped it plays the first 8 bars from Eye Of The Tiger through an intercom system at KV331’s office? What the hell is it??

Does that mean you are Ok with the drill-down submenus or still want a better navigation? They both have tradeoffs:

    • submenus result in more drilling down but have the benefit of shorter lists and less scrolling and the drilling down offers knowledge/education of what item is Analog, Digital, FM, etc.
    • multi-column lists can have the extra columns for information purpose, can be re-sorted but have longer lists and more scrolling

Sniff, sniff... Are you cooking any BB presets for SM1?

The fact that the menus will remain on-screen while auditioning the waveforms/tables makes a WORLD of difference, and the sub menus more digestible. It was the repetitive task of opening those sub menus each and every time that I found frustrating. Those frustrations are gone.

Definitely. The kitchen is in full swing. ;)

  • Can’t wait to hear those awesome presets!
