Yonac seems to have a superior audio engine. Their products sound better than their competitors. I wonder if they have their own audio engine code-base vs the JUCE or AudioKit code? If anyone has clues it would be good to know.

Just be warned... once you start using ToneStack you'll just keep adding their FX IAP's so getting a discount on the Motherloads 1 and 2 could save you big time. The whole array of Amps and FX's is addictive. Using the IAA approach I have used their FX in Cubasis, AUM, etc. before I started buying AUv3 specific FX Apps... like Amazing Noises "Limiter - Audio Processor for $3": a cheap and effective tool. Also got FAC Maxima. That's about it but I can see why I'll keep adding more as they go on sale or I have a problem to be fixed ASAP.
Having AUv3 access to their audio engine code should be very useful if it's universally better than other code bases. It just seems clearer and more pleasing across a range of use cases.
I love the fact it’s light and can run on 64 buffer setting .
As for the sound it’s 100% just a matter of taste ....
You must hear the difference between ToneStack and Amplitube. I'd give you the benefit of the doubt for "JamUp Pro" or "Bias Amp" but Yonac just seems to rise above the pack for quality audio.
Of course, with guitar sounds the Roland Chorus clean vs Hi-Watt metal apps leave a lot of room for intangibles regarding great "tone" re-creations. We all bring our own preferences into the evaluation. I don't want to be that guy. Sorry. Still, Yonac's on sale. Take advantage. Good stuff cheaper.
Not sure how much I care for the "tones" but I do love being able to mess with the pitch and speed on the little tape deck. Worth 3 bucks for that alone.
Just record a little chord progression and lower the speed and BAM, you instantly sound like you're really recording your guitar on 3 dollars worth of gear.
For practicing guitar it makes perfect sense for them to add a quick recording feature.
You lay dow a rhythm track and practice soloing against it. $3 is cheap to have that feature.
It sounds great as a cassette recorder replacement. Most guitar players send more on strings than Apps. Real amps do sound a lot better than headphones to get a great tone.
Once you move into the digital domain with recording then all this stuff starts to make sense as a good trade off.
Yonac still sounds better to me. Closer to real and the neighbors don't complain. I live in the digital domain.
I love Tonestack, but if you play metal, it doesn't cut it, at all. Bias FX and Bias Amp for the win. Though, AmpOne and ToneBridge are pretty dang good for metal as well. I only wish the effect pedals in Bias FX were more like the tone/sound of the ones in TS.
Thanks. I tend to forget there are many valid forms of musical art. I should at a minimum recognize a good metal amp sound. I learn more every day. I have the BIAS Apps so I'll play them and compare their Hi-Watt tones to see if it's obvious.
I agree, but that could be wishful thinking. Look what happened when Yonac Galileo went AUv3 - brand new app with a brand new (higher) price tag. Consider also that when Fabfilter recently introduced AUv3 support for Pro-Q2 you had to rebuy the app even if you had bought it in Auria. Anyway, let’s see what they do. I too have a significant investment in TS + Motherloads so I would love it if Yonac tipped their hats to the Yonac faithful
I've got Motherlode V1 - I presume I can't bypass V2 and go straight to the V3 upgrade?
There was an upgrade available at release of those which was cheaper, from v1 - v2 and then again from v2-v3 so it is possible Motherlode 3 contains everything.
Would be worth asking over on the Yonac forum.
I'd happily pay for the AUv3, however I'd like to be able to transfer my existing Motherlode v3 and not have to purchase that again.

Yeah, this paying for everything all over again thing that seems to be becoming popular is getting a bit scary, considering how much I've spent on this stuff already. I cannot afford to buy it all again, and then again, and then again...

Any road, I’m sure they’ll get a ton of new customers given there are so many folks crying out for a decent guitar rig sim that’s AUv3 (they’ll probably release mudderload v4 at same time so we end up forking out more anyway

This is also very true, now to start dreaming about what might be in a v4 Motherlode, Motherlode 3 seems pretty complete to me. I have some spare plastic tubing if they want to make a real Talkbox

I haven’t got Saturn, so I’d be tempted to do the same.
Yeah I bought Saturn for Auria and it’s very good but I just don’t use Auria anymore - if / when it does goes AUv3, well tbh I don’t think I’ll fancy forking out for it all over again (see a theme developing here?). My fallback plan is Tonebridge which is AUv3 and surprisingly good. Amazed it’s free but not complaining
It’s not that I don’t commend FF for breaking out of their walled garden, it’s more that I’m not made of money
I think the main thing is having a fallback plan be it Saturn, Tonebridge or whatever in case Yonac disappoints. Hopefully it won’t come to that.
