Hello, I really need some help guys. RE-1 at one time worked flawlessly for me. That was on an iPhone 11 Pro with fully updated iOS. I am on a 15 Pro Max now, but about 6 months ago, both the old iOS - and now the new one on the new phone - would shoot a message saying “audio engine failed to start”
Anyone else have experience with this?
Following some help from Kai to get the audio engine to engage, a few things happened: firstly that startup sound of “tape reel transport noise” has completely disappeared. The system is a little glitchy, it will play the factory samples, however all of the samples that I imported (WAV, 44.1, 24 bit) that once worked on RE-1 WHEN IT WAS ACTUALLY WORKING, now sound like nothing more than “hissing”, static or white noise - completely devoid of any of their identifying qualities. So sad, as I was part way through working on a solo recording using RE-1 as the kingpin of the project. I’m dead in the water here. To round it out, any and all audio generated by RE-1 now will only play through the small, earpiece speaker of the phone but nothing is coming out of the main stereo speakers.

WHAT IS GOING ON?? I think that even Kai got frustrated with helping me.

Currently: iPhone 15 Pro Max running v. 17.5.1.

Anyone with any similar flaws / faults as the ones I have mentioned?? I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times I’ve lost count, and with every uninstall I lose more of my own imported samples and presets.

    Please please please give this

    Hey Wim,

    Stand alone - that’s all I use.

The app has 0 influence on which speaker is used. While RE-1 is open, use the OS swipe gesture to display control center. Use it to choose the speaker and adjust the volume.

Set the mix to 100% wet if you aren’t using the microphone input or you will get ugly noise.

It works on my iPhone XS in iOS 17.5

    Hey Wim,

Thank you for digging in. I have been swamped with work but I’ll do some tests and get back to you over the weekend. I appreciate you trying to help me! Cheers
