...yet another world class thread from Audiobus. The legend continues. Now we’ve all got to put up a naked Song of the Month. It’s gonna be an ugly month.

Yeah I think most of us here are long past our best body days :D

  • Shed those clothes everyone - it’s naked song of the month club!

Would make a great shed for Tucker (my dog). He does actually make better music than myself. As we all know.....it really is about the shed and not the music....O, sorry, wrong way around.....hmmm

A dog(man) must have his shed. Sheds before music ( t shirt idea?) Dogs do have amazing hearing so I’m not surprised he surpasses you paws (hands) down in the music department🐶🎹

Shed light on my new opus, dog

Will your opus have canine movements?🎼

Nope, just scooped the garden poop a few minutes ago!

So your opus will have only one movement then, not much content there unless you make it a very long piece 😃🐶

I’ve had one loop playing over in RC (with occasional notes added) while playing over it with the four sounds in BM3 for the last 20 minutes. Was kind of relaxing. Wished I had recorded it though - I was in the zone.

Try to recreate it but this time record ......often those themes that worked for you resurface again and again. I’ve been opening up RC every day and am loving the sounds and creating. Looking forward to added features..
    Stay in the zone

I never get back in the zone when trying to record and recreate something. I think I don’t relax in the same way and over think it

Oh no stage freight? Solution, teach your dog to hit the switch...dogs are random at times😀😎

When I’m just playing and really relaxed, sometimes it just flows. When I’m recording, I stop feeling the moment and looking for those cues. Everything then becomes regimented and I may as well just enter the notes straight into a sequencer - don’t we all get this at times?

Guess it depends on many things including what you want to make and how you go about it. From my experience even the improv material needs structure and much practice to pull it off convincingly....
One could sit down and play JS Bach on the piano but if it doesn’t have the spirit of the piece it won’t dance. Read an article many years ago about studying artist Jackson Pollocks technique. They tried as an experiment to recreate his random drippings and approach to a painting on canvas but they were unsuccessful. They observed there was much more going on in the artists mind then just random madness but careful planning, accurate execution , artistry etc...
    Hope this helps

I’ve pretty much come to terms with it. I rarely try to record music beyond meandering backing tracks to play along to now. It’s not really a problem, as I’m not bothered about sharing my music - it’s just relaxing fun :)

    Good on you👍🏻😎
    Now back to the nudity

  • I’m going to have to get a printer and print some manuals (hate reading manuals onscreen).

I’ve been trying to squeeze in a multi out drum app into my setup, not realising that BM3 already separates its drums onto their own channels DOH!!!

    What a dumnut I am :D

Nice! Man cave in the making? Also, is that a Mastiff?

How do you like that Novation SL MK2 is it @Approach ? Thinking of grabbing the 37 or 49 for when I’m stuck to the desk.

I like it quite a lot. My keyboard skills are terrible but I can still appreciate the action of the keys. They are quality feeling. Having encoders and regular pots is a big plus. Some things feel off when trying to adjust with encoders I find. The screen is pretty nifty. If you assign a knob to cutoff it will read cutoff under the knob. The combo pitch bend/mod joy stick makes for some fun tweaking. Its got it all really, although the drum pads are weak when compared to many new controllers. They’ve been making that keyboard for over a decade so it must be doing something right. Most midi controllers come and go over night it seems.

    Hi,
The keyboard's excellent tactile feedback enhances my experience, despite my limited typing skills. The blend of encoders and pots adds versatility, although I find encoder adjustments a bit tricky.
