  • You wait so long and then find out it's not working on iPadOS. Aagh! Not tried it yet but hopefully will be able to later - but it's apparently not working. Boo!

  • It's just me doing something wrong, or automation isn't working at all ? Tried NS2, Cubasis, BM3 - but at least cutoff for any layer isn't working .. looks like D1 doesn't respond on automation data (iOS 12.3.1)

They’ll fix it soon enough, how about a bit of ****ing gratitude?

Sorry, I didn't mean to be ungrateful at all. I was joking around, and, in addition to that, rueing my impatience and downloading iPadOS. The fact that it's not working in iPadOS is nothing to do with AudioKit. Trust me, I'm very grateful that they've released the AUV3 version :-)

  • Amazing, on iPad pro 2016, though my CPU spiked up 20%. Still happy with that. It'll probably take another instance but I'll need to manage what else I use.

Yeah I don't think the automation is working here either, tried in AUM and no luck so far...

First try at an ambient generative setup with D1 as AUv3....what a lovely way to spend my morning (iPad Air 2 running 3 instances and some effects)

    Nicely done, Martin.

  • No sound or broken sound after reloading session on AB3, GUI missing on the second AU (of total 2) :(

    iPad 2018 iOS 12 latest

just try add 2-3 more instances, most problably it's just classic CPU polling issue

  • You probably think it's sheer coincidence that the AUv3 of D1 arrived on my birthday but I prefer to think that the heavens are smiling upon me. Thank you, @analog_matt and the whole D1 team!

  • Folks who aren’t getting sound in Cubasis. For some reason D1 had defaulted to midi channel 2. When I changed it to midi channel 1 it was all good.

Happy birthday and many happy returns Luke. 🎂 I bought D1 day one and have been waiting for this day ever since.

  • Hmmm mine is not responding to midi. AUM keyboard, fugue machine...

But thanks for the update! Awesome to have D1 as a plugin 💪🏼Au<3 yeah!

I’m having an issue where it works (iPad Pro 2018, iOS 12) but the pitch is sharp by a little over a semitone. Anyone else running into this?

Additionally, iPadOS Beta is not Supported. And, not recommended by Apple for music making yet.

  • @analog_matt This is just excellent. I'd been holding off on really digging in with D1 until AUv3 was released, but WOW - what a joy to behold the sounds this synth can make.

Great stuff - I forsee this being used ALL over my projects moving forward....

Matt, I've just sent an email with more details about this. But wanted to mention this here in case other people have run into this. A custom bank that I started in November is missing the 12 or so presets that I had created and put there. And my favorites list is also now empty.

How do we import banks into D1? I found the json file for my bank in a recent iMazing backup and have put it on my iPad but when I choose import and choose the file, the bank doesn't import. If I tap on the bank in Files and try to Open In, Digital D1 isn't an option.

If anyone else runs into this problem, it looks like D1 creates a folder in the iTunes File Sharing called Backup that contains a backup.

  • Many thanks to all the team for the Auv3 update!!!!!👍🏻😁

I can’t find a sync setting to external device for the arp/sequencer, does it have one? ☺️
First time I’ve used it properly with Cubasis today! 😁

It looks like that backup folder is only visible to iMazing and not iTunes.

The length of time that this AU conversion took and the severity of the reported bugs (lost patches, broken automation...) give me bad vibes about the death of IAA...

I reckon we’ll be lucky if even like 50% of devs have the motivation to follow along and convert IAA apps to AU...

Guess it won’t matter cos there’ll be other new AU apps out by then. But still...

Keep in mind that deprecated APIs sometimes stick around for many years. Sometimes, they don't. I suspect that IAA will be around for a while since it is an obviously non-trivial task to convert IAA apps to AU.
