Maybe it’s just me, but waiting through multiple instances of the video titles and then seeing a talking emoticon is an instant turn-off. Sorry, mate.
Here's the channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVxKApEDhzyObG0JXqVdvCQ
Been posting every 2 weeks since January except for this last month as I was travelling with my family. I have another YouTube channel about that if you're interested....
@Rustik - I've got a number of apeMatrix videos and I know you've been on the fence with that one. Not trying to kick you to either side of it, but if you want a deeper dive.....
Damn, I thought it was just young people that are impatient...lol.
First I would listen to the song and see if it's even the kind of thing you wan to learn about:
Even TV shows and movies have intros, but the great thing about youtube is you can always fast forward 30 seconds. And I've actually toned down the animated stuff for this video. I normally goof around a bit before each tutorial, so maybe I'm not for you....you can't please everyone. However, I'm told that I'm a good teacher and thorough and give out good info....so I guess it depends on how important that is to you or not.
For learning an ios instrument, I find the best tutorials come from the caustic guy. I really like his style of teaching.
LOLOLOLOLOL
+a million
What’s your fucking problem, man?
Is this your way of showing how savvy you think are? You think this is a game?
@ExAsperis99 @RUST( i )K @LucidMusicInc why are you even talking politics here on the AB forum? @Michael has asked for it to stop a number of times. It will just raise anger, close the thread, and maybe end up with a ban so someone has to come skulking back with a new alias. Not worth it.
I think we can all agree that long-ass intros and click-bait elements are not favourable.
But I think there's space for everyone somewhere, it's just about finding your niche regardless of what you do.
So like @gmslayton doesn't have amazingly produced vids but what drew me to his stuff is relevance; he was running apps on an Air1 while using a MiniLab2 (the things that I also own), so that caught me. He also explains things in a conversational way that appealed to me for some reason.
Doug's stuff is like water (you need it) because he reviews almost everything so you gotta get on his vids, however, I'd say his delivery is not my thing. All respect and love to em but it's just not in my favs.
Jakob is cool and gets technical enough to keep me interested. I'm not into the "look" of his vids (lowkey lighting/60fps) but many times it's info that is very relevant and I always walk away knowing something new.
Henny is amazing to me because he has a solid-ass resume making the music that I've probably bought at the store. I like the unique addition of "lifestyle" to his vids, I guess that's his unique flavour. Funny enough, I'd never think a producer of his credentials would use... blocswave (haha breaking balls here).
Electrosounds is also not my thing, not my sonic pallet, not my personality, but he did have a great video putting us on to driving the Circuit with Rozetta through AUM. That was brilliant AF. So I check in just in case he does something else catches me.
As for less iOS related:
I'd say I'm more into BoBeats than Cuckoo (although I have a feeling Cuckoo would be a much more interesting person to smoke with... I have a hunch about this).
Andrew Huang is hilarious with reviews, and very very informative.
I'll probably never get into modular but I really like Dawless Jamming. She's no-bullsit, really good insight into some of the devices I've been eyeing.
Keeping with (me not getting a) modular, I think Noir Et Blanc Vie is amazing. and really happy that he has been hopefully moving to bigger things because his writing skill is something that should be paid for.
Also gotta mention Enrique Martinez; fun jam sessions, informitive reviews, gets to the point with no lag BS.
I mean, there's a lot more but i think there's something for everyone. The chans that everyone might be expected to like are not necessarily so with everyone. But again, there's a lot of room out there, I know it's hard ass work to produce these videos without any kind of sure substantial monetary return.
Keep up the good work everyone.
We've been trying to get @BedHeadProducer to stop wearing masks and he's made a serious effort to do that.
hey im gettimg better, thanks for your patience
You have no clue what you’re talking about. Maybe you’re young. I’m a liberal but I’ve walked away from leftist idiocy and you will have to do the same eventually. In the meantime your arrogance and righteousness indignation is completely laughable. But I gotta concede to @gusgranite that I shouldn’t have gotten myself involved. Take your bull crap ideology back to Facebook and keep it out of Audiobus.
You’re right; this is no place for this discussion. I’m not young, born in the 60s, and I’m far from a leftist ideologue. I admit that I come off as self-righteous, and I apologize. I just take very seriously the escalation of rhetoric that leads to violence. I respect the members of this board, and I don’t want to cause tension.
To be fair, gun hoarding paranoid people on the far right are just as bigoted and foolish as the car smashing and burning Antifa on the left. It’s ok to have a political belief but one that is solely based upon demonising a political opponent is not ok.
Not to mention the car-wielding murderers and bomb-mailing enthusiasts of the right...
The false equivalency takes my breath away. Car-smashing does not equal murder - 11 dead in Pittsburgh today, 2 dead in Kentucky yesterday. All racist murders. It’s this attempt to be “fair” that drives me crazy. Hey, let’s all shake hands...
Yeah, it was pretty glaring, wasn't it?
An odd, but harmless hobby versus violence and arson...
I just said you’ve got lunatics on both sides. People see what they want to see. Regarding the political terrorism, it’s disengenuous to cast blame on a group of people who have different political beliefs than your own for the actions of a few individuals. Calling right wingers white all racists is like saying all Muslims are barbaric. But having this argument is counterproductive. Be as indignant as you like, if doesn’t make any difference as far as I’m concerned but it doesn’t belong on this forum
No!
I am so wrong!
I do know your vids and like them!
You have the recognizable logo!
Why didn't you say "Mobile Music Minstrel" !
I love your channel
I must have had a bad brain day when I posted that!
LOL
Guys.
I am all for discussions on anything.
I support even asking for a sub for political talk.
But can we not derail the thread.
Thanks guys.
It drives me nuts when....
They spend 45 seconds to tell me to follow them on every social media app in every video .... like its 2018 we know how this shit works, we understand social media... 😂 just get to it...
They wave their finger around the screen trying to find something forever, haha I dunno that just annoys tf outta me, it's like chewing ice 😬, take control man !!!!
They make a garbage song to "Quickly show you how to create", rather, make a basic version of what you would do in a full production and actually want to hear and see some work ideas, and show off some complicated features and do something a little intriguing.
No worries - glad you dig them.. I hate soliciting for feedback but I also want folks to be getting something out of them.
Don't gotta ask me twice.
And when I have the balls to do some vids of my own you can do the same!
It's a date
Got a new vid I'm finishing up the editing on - should have it up in the next day or so, depending on whether the kids let me edit it or not....
The major things have been mentioned already, but I too want to echo the “no background music while talking, please” suggestion. Even if it’s good music, it’s unnecessary.
A pet peeve, though I haven’t watched enough iOS-related music videos to see this in them, to my recollection: Please don’t edit the video to death by cutting away EVERY tiny hesitation or pause. I personally prefer long single takes, rather than something so edited to death that the end result is a jittery, jumpy, and desperate compromise in the name of short attention spans. I stop watching if a video is TOO tight, allowing for zero relaxation while watching.
Give the videos a proper title. Tag the video and give it some description for the same reason. A lot of good musicians just uploaded videos with a title like “song idea” or “jam session” etc. And don’t include any info about the gear or software used, and therefore no one can find it.
Conversely don’t give the video a click bait thumbnail that has nothing to do with the video in service of clicks!
Don’t upload a 10 second video!
I agree here.
Some vids seem like watching a movie real click clip clip click flash .....
Good points
