Such a great app, I love it. And lots of good suggestions in this thread
Just posted my first creation in a separate thread too:
Yes. An undo function for the randomized would be most welcome but not essential.
Oh crap....It's the first time that I really like something that I made on IOS.
Congratulations @brambos and Thank You for another beautiful invention.
I was on the fence trying to decide between Ruismaker and Ruismaker FM as my first Drum Synth. This new 3rd option closed the deal.
I have no experience with Drum Machines but the combination of some presets to focus on and by twistin every knob I made something worth saving.
Then (like other commenters) I spent an hour of "random roulette" with tweaks and I have a good dozen User Presets to start me off.
3 Ruismaker products purchased (started with Kozmonaut and then Rozetta) and really enjoying the design work and results.
oh my oh my @brambos , it’s finally finished.
Congratulations! This is an instabuy for me.
But I discovered this when I was going to bed... let’s say I will be working from home tomorrow lol
I will talk about it on Twitter after experimenting.
yo this is GREAT. I’m ready for the album.
Sounds great @Daveypoo
Like it a LOT ! What's the effect on the voice ? VoxSyn ?
That's what I call good emulation on this cool forum
@DCJ I'm not ready at all !!! But I keep on working ! Thanks for the confidence
@gusgranite thanks ! I hope I can finish it this week...Or the next...
Aye, capn. It's got the vibe.
My feature wish list after few minutes of experimentation:
1- Values entered by taping arrows can also be scrolled by swiping.
2- Option to lock pitch to scale + costum scales or at least chromatic + midi channel to transpose sequence.
3- pattern bank to recall
And 4 which is not only for Noir: more completely awesome sequencers in roseta suite including those that are already in ruismakers and noir and perforator.
4.5 Ruismakers and Ripplemaker sequencers also in Auv3 just as Noir.
So much fun!
Nice, my kind of stuff
I was afraid all the Ruismaker sounds would be too electronic but I was so wrong... you can dial in some convincing acoustic drums, bottles, shakers and sticks:
https://soundcloud.com/user-403688328/bazaar-acoustics
A Ruismaker Noir's (one with bottle sounds and one with a shaker). The shaker gets a Kozmonaut delay treatment and gets really busy in a way I like.
Then I have a Riffer pattern running a clarinet sample and I improvised a ThumbJam Flute for a solo.
It al sounds very acoustic to my ears and not something made from drum synths. You've really got try this one out.
What's interesting here (to me) is you've got the Bladerunner effect in full force, which is where you have one thing (the modern) coexisting quite naturally with the other (the traditional). Nicely done.
Thanks. I'm not quite certain who that guy is, but he's always nagging away at me to have his say. Just a quick miserable doodle in AUM which I am still trying to learn, but it is a good place for fiddling with vocals on the fly. These are too far away and basically unmixed. FX are VoiceRack FX (High Double; moderate), Harmonizr (chromatic, minor; very little), and Kosmonaut (Basement Practice; very little).
Btw @brambos , thanks for making noir iOS 10 compatible. One of my iPads is legacy'd at iOS 10 and this new addition of noir has added to its music making fun factor.
Thanks. I think it would be hard NOT to find sounds that fit for any patterned rhythms. Now I just need to figure out how to benefit from the Bass capabilities as well as the drum sounds.
I'm glad someone mentioned adding delay and reminded me I bought Kozmonaut (based upon the Fripper-tronics Looper video). I love Loopers for quick song making. But Kozmonaut has awesome delay and the "Clean Echo" made the simple shaker pattern a lot more complex like a great studio percussionist at work perfecting a groove.
Making techno machines and wooden shoes!
Pitch/vel.mod > decay would be useful I think.
Clogstep!
(No cliche... my father in law wore his wooden clogs until the day he died).
Yes, I can see that. I've put it on the list
Grinning from ear to ear. 😇
I have seriously been playing with this all day. Fantastic job!
@brambos you have proven yourself to be one of the most inventive instrument designers. You are the iOS equivalent to Oliver Gellet of Mutable Instruments.
Ruismaker Noir is another original idea with yet another new take on sequencing.
My initial thoughts on Noir going forward are as followed:
It does need a few enhancements to fit more snuggly into my own personal workflow, but thise have already been mentioned a few times, i.e. being able to shift the sequence back and forth in the timeline and like the other sequencers - 8 patterns to switch between (MIDI triggerable.). With these enhancements I could see Noir become part of my everyday like Ripplemaker and Ruismaker FM.
I feel I have a very Bram Bos centric sound now already with Ripplemaker being at the centre of almost everything I do now. I tip my hat to you!
@brambos . Brilliant. Very impressed with the sounds generated.
+1 for pattern shift left/right
no midi in clock, AUM doesn't support midi in clock in either, more walled garden stuff, can't use this with a hardware sequencer without having to go through at least another two apps trying to to do a poor job of accepting midi clock.
It’s a standard AU plugin... hardly a typical walled garden?
Has it got MIDI Clock out ?
