That‘s fantastic! I’d love to hear the full song.
Appeared to download instantly. I mean, 150 mb down is fast anyways but the app literally went from buy to open instantly. Thought there was an issue.
48 hours of tweaking knobs later, my fav plugin on iOS.
Turns out, the issue is just super efficient code. Somebody not dumb once said genius is making complicated things simple. Well, designing and sequencing drums was simple...so what is said about minds that make simple...simpler and more enjoyable?
As much as I like the Noir sequencer GUI, as a AU3, I think the main use for this is inside another app. For example, running inside Modstep very easy to have as many patterns as I want. The easier precise control over pitch and velocity there is useful too.
My feature request list:
*Ruismaker Noir is epic, please work on your next drum plugin
I like that one!
Thanks. I'm a bit scared to let that guy write the rest of the lyrics, but then it's daylight now and that'll change....
So, how come it’s not able to also be loaded as an Auv3 effect to sequence another synth inside of Cubasis? I understand I can record the midi, then use the midi to sequence but it ads another step if wanting to do so. I wish that rozeta bassline had the pitch, velocity, and step resolution control that this has basically. I love this, but really thought that the ability to use it to control other synths would be as seamless as the other apps.
It does send out MIDI, exactly like Rozeta. How this is supported in hosts is not up to the plugin, but up to the hosts. Probably because it does both audio and MIDI it's not available as a MIDI filter; but that's pretty much completely out of my control
A bit off-topic, but with so few apps accepting MIDI Clock, how have some of you gone about integrating this into a Logic Pro X workflow? I could always set up and record in GarageBand iOS then open the project up in LPX, but that’s cumbersome and inflexible. Alternately, I should be able to send MIDI Clock from GB to LPX and sync that way, but I’d really prefer to have LPX control the tempo. AUM also seems to be able to send Clock but not receive it, and AB3 doesn’t seem to want anything to do with Clock.
Am I missing an obvious solution? I own, use, and love Live 10 so I could always just use Link and be done with it. But LPX is my main DAW and I’d love to be able to bring this new tool into it.
i guess you can use 'midi link sync' app?
Whoa nelly ive written 3 tracks with this thing already, low pass filtered down, its the techno bass maker of my dreams!
Trying to go deep into this one before coming to any conclusions on feature requests, but there is one that I've seen in the thread so far that feels obvious: being able to nudge the sequence backwards/forward to get the pattern that emerges to the start of the bar.
The other one that would be really interesting/useful is to be able to constrain the pitch to a key/scale... but that might break the concept a bit?
Undo on the randomisers would be peachy.
Tiny request... if you're enjoying RMN, kindly leave a few stars on the App Store for me!
I’d second both of these... especially the rotate sequence feature... hard to get multiple instances to gel once you get a groove in one, it often clashes with a groove in another one...
Done it a few times already, seems like the AppStore 'forgets' that I've already rated the app so I keep on doing it all the time...
😂

Oh sure, first you want our money, then you want our time and undying professions of love...
Done.
I think this lil' app finally filled the hole I've been trying to fill for a few years in terms of iOS-based jamming...
I've wanted a way to use AUM to build an drum-synth based "experimental" techno instrument that I could use with just the iPad, but also work well with a controller.
So far most trys have gone tits up due to iPad resources, lack of mapping, lack of control, stability issues, etc. etc. I'd resigned myself to having to build loops in SeekBeats and "perform" in Launchpad...
But now, with Noir (that somehow @brambos , bless his heart, managed to make about as CPU intensive as a damn notepad app it seems...) I think I've got my setup...
Here's my AUM setup:
What's insane is that I've stuffed pretty much everything I want in there, including Turnado and even on my Air2 at 1024 samples it stays below 70% and so far seems devoid of pops and cracks, even when I switch back and forth to Shoom!
And here's the controller that it's (mostly, still figuring out a few things) all mapped to:
So far it's a GREAT way to really surf through those 4 instances of Noir, Troublemaker, and Shoom, not to mention all the awesome AudioDamage (and others) FX to find those nice micro-grooves... All hands on with that controller.
It's so cool...
I'll prob. build a midi designer pro layout mimicking the Vestax so I can do it all on iPad when I'm totally moble.
Way to go @brambos !
Wow, that's an impressive setup!
Thx. At least you know your hard work is being taken advantage of!
The Vestax VCM 600 is a Great piece of hardware. Great setup by the way...
quick session in AUM. Fun fun fun.
It's a frickin' tank. Poor Vestax. Such a good company driven into the ground by shit management.
I feel like buying one of those and just putting it in the cupboard if nothing else for the day I wish I had...
Ha! I've got an entire shelf of midi controllers... NONE of them are perfect... But what's REALLY weird is that controllers from like early and mid 2000's kick ass vs. the crap that's out now.
The MiniDesk from JL Cooper is INSANE. Nothing like it. But it kinda blows that there's no way to change CC's. You have to remap in software/middleware.
@brambos well done for getting a feature in CDM

Noir kept me entertained for my 8 hour flight to Singapore this weekend. Great stuff!
