The price difference between the US and EU is crazy. It gets especially apparent the more you add. I wrote myself a theoretical shopping list which sums up to 102 USD in US prices, which would translate to roughly 91 EUR. Instead I have to pay over 114 EUR - 128 USD. F*** that.
Generally speaking, it is insane how fast a lot of small apps add up. I certainly have to scratch a lot from that list to bring that sum down again. Especially with those conversion rates lol
same here man, it's amazing > @david_2017 said:
Which FX is the best, any advice
AUFX:Push
AUFX:PeakQ
AUFX:Dub
AUFX:Space
KEW is USD$20 and NZD$35. On a straight conversion it'd be just over NZD$29.
I would say Push - sounds great and super flexible dynamic processor (with side chain input). The rest of them are quite good as well, but there are more options available even as AUv3.
Hopefully soon these will get AU treatment as well.
I've got Dub and Space and they're great, but as reccp says above they're not AU, so you might want to check out other options.
Yep. From Spain, I'm feeling the same, but that's because USA and EU have different taxes.
The scraper apps (the crazy, hard ones, not the easy drone ones) are on sale now. So are the FX from this dev.
I am interested in Synthscaper myself. It is $10 right now, down from $15.
Can anybody compare Synthscaper to Mood? Mood has my attention as well. I like that they both work with samples, but beyond that are they very similar?![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Synthscaper looks like it offers way more, but maybe it is too much ‘more’. Mood looks simpler, but also deceptively deep.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I am intrigued by Soundscaper. That spaceship like UI looks great and it sounds awesome for ambient soundscapes.
If you mean the playheads you can assign different midi channels, so four separate playheads can trigger your other apps via midi. As for AU I don’t know.
Nor me. I have the "old" Bias AMP with all IAP's (as well as Bias FX with all IAP's), but I'm missing the "new" IAP in Amp, which states a price and comes with a description that sounds exactly like what I have...or is the key "new modules" or something? Anyone who knows? If there is a clear benefit with upgrading I would like to do so now, but as I say, I already have the integration etc which is why most people would upgrade in the first place I guess.
You can only load one pattern at a time, but you can switch them out using Program Change messages while it is running. PC messages are kinda weird to me, I have to use Xequence to send them since it is the only way I know. But using PC messages opens up all 128 pattern save slots for instant loading on demand.
AU seems doubtful to me, but I don’t know for sure. The dev has shared that he is working on a new app that is pretty deep, so maybe that will be AU.
If you have/know any of the other amazing ape apps, mood probably won’t be so surprising - 3 regular ‘analog’ oscillators plus noise, fm and one sample that you can mix in or use on its own or do what you like with. It’s very well done and has all of that magic dust that they sprinkle on their wares. It’s AU. A fine piece of kit. Of the two, I’d say it’s the more... Conventional... Option?
SynthScaper is a Behemoth. A lost city. Maybe a sea monster. It’s weird and not so intuitive to begin, but a benefit of all this weirdness is that it takes you on unexpected journeys. There’s a sense of discovery and achievement as you figure it out piece by piece. Frustrations and joys. Just one instance of this at a time (no AU, although it does have AB state saving). Honestly, 9 sample-based ‘oscillators’ with complex modulations/fx often feels excessive. It can generate random patches if you get impatient and just want to play. I’ve found it to be more in the vicinity of iWAVESTATION, LayR or Mitosynth than Mood.
Decisions decisions.
Kosmonaut and Discord 4 redundant or naw?
@tomato_juice Awesome breakdown. Thank you.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Kosmonaut is one of my most used fx apps
Me too, that and Discord get put on nearly everything.
It ain't over until it is past Friday (and maybe, Cyber Monday too)![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smiley.png)
https://appsliced.co/app?n=music-theory-tutor&l=list
This $3 basic music theory app just went on sale for free.
Haven’t used it, but hey, it’s free.
Worth a try, I suppose.
Which one to buy if you had choose just one?
Mine too, that’s why I was wondering if I needed Discord also but it was $2 bucks. That could be my addiction talking tho.smh. Happy to support AD tho.
Honestly they are actually different but i dig Kosmonaut. Could be biased from having had it longer tho.
Interesting point.
What taxes do US buyers pay?
In NZ it's 15% GST, for KEW we'd be paying about USD$1 more than the US, assuming that they aren't paying any sales tax at all.
Do you have any screen captures using discord ?
Got it! Thanks!
Is there one anyone would recommend to teach a complete beginner but allows midi input?
Discord, as it can do everything from subtle reverb to completely bonkers pitch/filter shifting.
No sorry. I tend to load up the last preset (dotted 8ths I think) and tweak it.
Yeah but so can Kosmonaut. For me, Discord sounds grimier and better suited for darker vibes while kosmonaut capable of that but also brighter vibes? Idk...could be biased. I just got Discord earlier today.
I’ve not used Discord4 enough to know it well, but thanks for reminding me I have it lol
Grimey, dark and even cheap, thats exactly how I like my women, I mean audio plugins.
