What is this app exactly? I read the esoteric description, and I'm more lost than when I first clicked the link, lol.
Generative sample trigger app. Better at extended grooves than detailed composed parts.
AH! Now it makes sense. Thanks.
Now that they seem to have realized their original price was utterly ridiculous, i'm tempted to pick this up. I like the idea of sprawling and evolving drum patterns.
What was their original price, $50?
Not even close!
.
After watching Doug's demo I've jumped in and bought it - just for the fun of it.
Oddly, iTunes details doesn't mention it's on sale, and the dev website says on sale at $25 - their last sale???
I've been a long time (in app terms) fan of DD. Very fun and interesting what you can produce with midi. It does take some time to get your head around everything it's capable of though.
$320?! That's bullsh*t, pardon my language. My money would be better spent hiring an actual session drummer and buying studio time.
.
I don't have any regrets buying it at $50, but I wouldn't have paid $320 for it!

Wtf! There's actually 87 reviews for it..
That's over 19000$ in sales.. Who new snow globes were so dope!
^yeah but apparently it was free at some point

How long are they gonna drag this out?
@Daath7 - I suppose for a while but I believe at its current prices lately, $25 and below, it has something very unique and useful to offer and could be taken more seriously. The developer is super responsive and open to any idea or feature you throw at him, and often quick to implement...
This one always intrigues me at $1049.99 + IAP.

Never could quite make out what it did exactly.
Who buys that stuff at prices like that? Arabian oil sheiks who want to see snow in the desert? Charles Foster Kane? I'm really puzzled about this.
Anyone remember that "I am rich" app that cost 1000$ and was just a blank screen that said 'I am rich'. I think the developer sold 20+ copies before it was pulled off the App Store. People were buying it to show off how rich they were at parties etc..
I'm still waiting to hear a killer song that features this app. I think many were hoodwinked into paying such an exorbitant price for an ordinary drum app. I think the GUI fooled some people into thinking this thing will be the last drum box they ever buy. If this was the all singing and all dancing drum machine, why are many iOS musicians still pining for that elusive killer drum machine? For me, the lesson here is to wait and listen to videos and demos before you plunk your cash. Still I suppose all of this is subjective and some folks are happy with it. Me thinks £6.99 would have been its best price.

String could not be parsed error code so it's posted twice
I haven't done any full songs with it, but I've got a Soundcloud link below that should give you an idea of what it's capable of. It isn't your typical drum machine app. It uses different wave type to affect notes, rests, ties, volume, and panning. It also has a fairly good midi implementation allowing for some interesting results. I've had a blast with using midi and NanoStudio and bs16-i. It's not for everyone, but I use it often and love it.
Forgot to mention that you should use headphones when listening, so you can pick up what the panning is doing.
@funjunkie27 - cheers for the soundcloud link. I used my shiny new Sony headphones to have a listen. For me the sound is nothing special and it kinda sounds 'muffled' but that's me. It's timbre is not for me.
For its initial price, I would have thought that this app was going to be revolutionary like the Alesis SR16 was if you get my drift. That drum box became an industry standard. For $300 or so an iOS standard was what I was expecting. The fact that it uses waves means nothing to Joe Bloggs when they listen to a song but then again maybe the developer needed a killer song to really demo this app. However, I appreciate that you like it and that is what it is all about. The pricing for this app reminds me of the Unity synth where they charged an arm and a leg
I haven't heard any muffled sounds, so I'm not sure what that is. Also, DD allows you to use your own samples. Most of what you heard on the SoundCloud link were the built-in samples. Still, I realize this isn't an app that fits everyone.
I like using it for midi

I would also agree that it's not for everyone but I personally don't see it as a drum machine. It is interesting how you can twist & manipulate the wav's. Here's a couple of things I did a while ago with DD (no I didn't pay the silly full price). All made with included samples.
