  • Without attack, there can be no, decay, neither sustain, or release. Get free from envelope cycle!

Yes. To put it another way...
If you ATTACK everything, you will only find DECAY.
If you help yourself and others SUSTAIN, you will find RELEASE. ☯️

    Dude, I like.
    Well put!

This is a good one, as well.

  • If something is called a ‘Groovebox’, it usually has me looking elsewhere.
Until I took the plunge on GR-16, that is.
That app is some immediate awesomeness for real.

Applause all around! I want this framed.

    Thesys AUv3.

  • I look forward to no beatboxes, no drum machines, no synths, no FX, no sequencers, no DAWs..
On one level, I hope that the market for the type of apps (above) plummets, and becomes almost not profitable.

Then the creative Dev's that think outside the square can shine through the current fog of mediocre McMusic apps.
SO much garbage on IOS, with the odd diamond shining through :# (same on desktop)

    I could rephrase the above:
    make art - or die

  • What about cartwheels with no pants on?

please no more groovebox apps...i dont see the point, just update the ones weve got.

it's easier to make a good one from scratch. I don't know how old you are or if you were around during the times of the great NI maschine update wars but omg, I still can't sleep some nights shiver me timbers :# the things those people did to that code is every bit as horrifying as anything Kolchak the night stalker faced in his whole life

Im a little older than Mashcine. been using grooveboxes since the mc303. if one came along that hosted audio unit fx then i might be interested.

    You mean like BM3?

i hardly consider bm3 to be a groovebox.

@sysexual you may have lost your groove dude - Bm3 is a groovebox

    no it is not.

@sysexual well its called BEATmaker for a reason and has swing pads and GROOVE quantize but if you say its not then cool

By that measure Fruity Loops is a “looper” and iMPC Pro 2 is “professional”.

bm3 is far bigger than a grrovebox. like i said, when i think of a groovebox i think of immediacy, something I can play live and improv with. Bm3 is certainly not that. it is way more of a daw for me. ive never once thought of bm3 as a groovebox and your arguments are far from convincing. ill just leave it at that.

    Its a start yes.

  • Doug was betatesting an app these last months and that was supposed to be game changer for iOS. Then Reason Compact was released and then there was silence..
So, any idea, what that was... or will be?

It was the Roli Noise support inside of Cubasis.

One man’s game changer is another man’s status quo.

  • On another note, RE: Things I would like to see but probably wont.

    • Better MIDI PC/Bank support for Korg's older apps (namely iPolySix)
    • Roland iD-50
    • Kawai iK-4
