It's all about the hype 😆
I’m just looking forward to the day when I open this thread to be greeted with “It’s here!”. One day soon...
It is in Tokyo 😉
I’m so bored of refreshing the App Store updates page now 😩😩😩
I believe Korg were under pressure because they had nothing new in terms of software for showing at NAMM so they did the usual thing big companies do in this type of situation, they send out a big announcement of something they’re are working on but it’s obviously not ready. They only had a beta of MS-20 and Polysix running in current version of Korg Gadget, you can see it on the only pictures that are out there. If the launch was inminent they would have been showing it very clearly and with important media coverage.
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the launch is postponed to April, if not May...
We’ve seen this many times not only from Korg but other companies too. It’s called Marketing pressure... :-)
its still february.
Geez, come on already KORG.........y’all got us acting like some dope fiends out here laying in the cut with our iPads...🤣
Historically Korg hasn’t pre-announced, they just released something out of the blue when they were ready. I quite liked that.
I think — and I understand the impulse — you're making this up. When, exactly, has Korg made a hurried announcement that they have then failed to deliver on? Usually, like Steinberg, their updates simply just drop without fanfare.
I agree that there has been weirdness. Why was Gadget for Mac unavailable for weeks this winter? Now it's back. I dont' know. I'm really looking forward to this update, possibly to the point that I'm starting to expect it will CHANGE EVERYTHING!
But as a wise man said, it's still February.
Bit odd the announcement a few weeks back that they’d updated the legacy collection, and added Odyssey. But it was already added last year, so I’m not sure what’s actually been updated.
Funny buggers.
It’s clearly only speculation/guessing in the absence of any information whatsoever as opposed to being made up. It makes perfect sense to me- and is along the lines I was thinking.
The new electribes were much later than had previously been announced is one example.
Just take a look at this press release from 2017, this already happened...
And this was the original announcement, just a few days before NAMM...
That’s what I mean by “marketing pressure”.
I think it’s good to create hype from a business prospective, all this waiting around is deffintely going to make you hit the buy Button once it’s live in the App Store - but perhaps it’s also just legitimate that they are working on fixing things they didn’t foresee which could cause a delay. Despite the announcement release in jan.
Oh, Korg, you're cold and you're cruel. Until you release #2, or give me new info on which to dream, there is nothing I can do but play with the old version, relying only on its countless possibilities.
Maybe I'm out of touch with today's reality, but I think Korg will just release it when it's ready, and most users are not counting the days. Korg's not trying to create a drama and, in general, it's not.
Ok, so four more days to go if Korg plans on keeping the 'February 2019' release date :)
...February is slowly closing in...
Should be soon then!......... close enough to reach out and touch!...
Nothing can go wrong now!.... Prepare to light the fireworks!..... on the count of three.
one........... two.............
The least @davis_korgrd could do is update us as to what the f-ckknuckle is going on. We tend to be more understanding when people are more forthcoming than not.
And in addition, any new info regarding details to what's new is always welcomed!
Why are you still reading this thread then?
Hey all, I have to go off the grid for the next four days. I am confident of an amazing release before 3/1. Please send word of victory.
Seriously I just looked at my purchase history and February is when I seem to go through my musical molting phase- modular gear synths... this year was a used blofeld and a Digitone to use interchangeably with my deluge (why the deluge doesn’t get all the press is beyond me- easily the piece of kit of dreamed about for 30 years). If Korg would just release updates more quickly, I’d have a lot less gear! It’ll be nice to dive back into gadget though.
It amuses me.
I've given up checking the store, checking here first now instead :D
I'd settle for information about whether the release window will be met or not. 😉
But it is an unspoken contest about who will be the first to write on this wall that: "I've just downloaded Gadget and playing with it" 😁😜
hahahaha I just checked the store anyway 😶
Maybe Santa will drop down the chimney tonight with that shit...
no release in feb i think 🤔
its still february..ffs.
