@jolio sorta. I have my app compatible with dark and light mode, but it seems to be getting mixed signals recently when running as an AUv3, causing display issues
Hello, I've just submitted today a fix release, including this bug.
Meanwhile you can turnoff the dark mode from iPad Settings and it should be appear as normal, black text.
Sorry, ciao.
@scarbo Have you noticed weird behavior inside AUM recently? My AUv3 thinks its in dark mode even when it actually isn't as of the latest AUM update
UPDATED: Fixed in v3.3.1
@MrBlaschke @scarbo I see same jump and crop in standalone whenever I select preset from dialog. I have to restart. Scrolling through preset selector at bottom doesn't jump.
Below is the entire screen on iPad Pro '11 after affliction.
yes, but there was an iPadOS update recently, such glitches happen sometimes. I usually shut down the iPad and boot it up, and usually the problem is gone. In case with iVCS3, it worked. The wrong UI doesn't appear anymore.
Seems to be fixed now. Thanks @scarbo !
@scarbo thank you to you and JEC for the new presets! Killer synth. 👍
Sorry for the necro bump
Have had this a long time and have started to get into it. What an amazing sounding synth.
I totally agree, it's like a Hainbach studio in an app! You get real mad scientist vibes.
‘Necro bump’ - I like it! Prompted me to take it out for a spin with some of my tape sim apps…
UPDATE
Ok. Weird bug, the layout now appears to be one page formatted for portrait, doesn’t flip, and doesn’t fit, so the bottom of the pin matrix is off screen. iPad Air 2018 running 16.1.1.
Not good. Anyone else?
UPDATED UPDATE
Ok. Tried the shut down and reboot trick, as mentioned above. Didn’t work. Did it again, remembered it is IAA, so opened it first outside of AUM and then inside AUM. Worked, impressively full screen, toggling back to AUM with the record strip at the top of the window. Phew.
Funny - without seeing this thread I thought to revive iVCS3 just the other day, to see if I could use it for Eliane Radigue-esque drones, esp as the 3 oscillators can be tuned by frequency rather than pitch, and it sounds like Radigue sometimes does something like this to create harmonics and overtones in her evolving drones. Also, was getting some wonderfully analogue imperfections going on ...
Possibilities here @Gavinski ?
Glad you got it going.
It’s a super deep synth. I’ve been following some basic YouTube tutorials to get me going.
That concerns me why it would do that all of a sudden. I was considering getting it but as I only use AU in GarageBand and never mess with anything IAA I might hold off now. Saying this because I was thinking about getting the MiniMoog but the most recent review on the App Store saying it no longer works in GarageBand 😔 and I’m waiting to see if there’s an update. That’s a lot of money for me and I can’t afford to waste it
@Fear2Stop : Hi. It’s an amazing experimental noises synth and until now has been rock solid for me inside AUM, even though it is IAA. The ‘open first outside, then inside your host’ thing, which is a pretty common safety measure for IAA did seem to do the trick, on me that I didn’t think of it first thing, and I have it running solidly inside AUM now. Given that any Apple update always has the proven potential to kill an app, with no comeback for you except a shrug of their corporate shoulders, it’s just one of those things you have to live with in this ecosystem, I guess.
TLDR version : as long as you can confirm from someone that it can currently run in GarageBand (don’t use it, sorry) I wouldn’t let this flakiness put me off. All part of the ‘joy’ of IOS music making!
Why not use the AU version?
That is the original topic of this thread, that this app is an AU now.
Erm.. I see AUs for IVCS3 Noise and Oscillator in AUM, but the Instrument is still IAA for me. I’ll try a reinstall.
Look for just vcs3. For some reason, the AU instrument dropped the little i from the name.
@CracklePot : Aha. Awesome. That worked. Re another thread here on FAC releasing something to corral all the apps, this kind of proves the point. Unless you had said that, I would never have found that I already had an AUV3 version installed!
Glad to help.
You could put this app to good use, I suspect.
It works and the interface scales and zooms correctly in GB on Air4 16.3.1.
You should probably get a confirmation from somebody with an iPhone model like yours to be totally sure.
I think you had some isolated display issues with Zeeon that didn’t happen on iPads, correct?
Correct..I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro Max . Sadly most everything I find online relates to iPads (not just with this app) . I plan to get an iPad sometime this year but that’s gonna take a bit
Strangely enough. JEC presets are half price just now while Superbooth is on.
iVCS3 doesn’t work as an AUv3 for me in GarageBand. It’s not visible.
I stand corrected! VCS3, no “i”. LOL. Why? I don’t know.
It’s remarkable, though hard work. I’ve barely scratched the surface.
I originally bought it after seeing Hainbach’s video about the Syntrx (and checking out the price of it!), which reminded me about all the other great stuff made with the original (Floyd, TD, KS et al). It’s a bargain!
Plus you get several bits of it as independent AUv3s, which is icing on the cake. Apesoft really did a great job with this. There’s a video somewhere on YT where a bloke with a Synthi A compares waveforms with it, and it’s really, really close.
Oooh I’ve still got one more to get!!
I know that video!!
I agree apesoft did an amazing job! I think he would be a perfect candidate to do a man aro 2500 or buchla thing.
The LFOs per knob thing is just the icing on the cake. It’s literally the synth that keeps giving!
Yep, that’s the one.
Since y'all necroed this thread... Time to share this again
That’s a thing of beauty. Possibly madness, also… 🤣
