Seems you first choose IMPORT and then a pad. Audioshare pops up for me.
@elf_audio
Also projects are not in alphabetical order, no rush at all but a fix would be welcoming
@JudasZimmerman ok cheers will try that
@JudasZimmerman ok yes that worked smooth.
@stormbeats you switch from mic to import then when you press a pad it should open up audioshare or files
Beat me to it
@elf_audio yes cheers
If you want to donate money to the developer, do so, find a local school with iPads, and start gifting them copies of the developers software, you pay, they get free software and the developer gets paid, don't really see the issue.
I finally bought this the other day, even though, without AU, I'll probably not use it. I wanted to support the dev and encourage him to perhaps, maybe, hopefully, OK, I'm begging, update it to AU! You never know. I'd happily pay an IAP for it.
@elf_audio maybe do premium limited edition custom skins as IAPs or something like that when releasing new features?
@elf_audio I might be in minority here but I'd love to see an option to change the 'Import app' from AudioShare to Files.app.
On the iPad it's easy to use the Files.app Pop-Over to Drag'n'Drop samples to Koala but on the iPhone it's not as easy...
This app just keeps getting AMAZINGER lol
+1
This would be a good option for me, it still gives you access to AudioShare via the files app as well.
@Samu @GrimLucky i has that on the todo list but just couldn’t wait to release it. It’s definitely coming, I keep deleting audioshare just so I can use files
Great thanks, glad it’s on the todo, this app keeps getting better
So Koala defaults to using Files.app for import when AudioShare is not installed?
Sadly AudioShare 'disappears' from the Files.app when deleted so Files.app can't be used to access the AUM recordings...
If you're on iPad, try it in popover view in AUM, or Split Screen in Audiobus. I don't miss AU all that much (other than state-save) in this mode.
Is there any way to preview with files? Being able to preview in AudioShare is a huge reason why this app is so useful for me
No good way. You have to open each sample, go to a separate screen, and then return back to the sample. If you play the sample more than once, it fades it in at the beginning. Sucks.
Long-Tap on a file, select QuickLook, after that you can tap play to preview it and swipe left/right for previous/next file until you find the file you look for.
I tried this and couldn’t get them to open or see the QuickLook option- but I found that double tapping would open them for previewing/ scrolling.
Hey @elf_audio
Hope all is well. Love the new update to the app. Although I think it may have disabled the sharesheet action when you send audio files from a folder (e.g. Audioshare, Files, Documents) into Koala. Drag and drop does work, but I’m unable to share audio into Koala Sampler as well.
Excuse this if it has already been pointed out, but I found that you can still access the files app from Koala by opening into Audioshare via Import Audio and simply tapping the yellow download icon.
This gives you the option to Pick File(s).
After opening, tap browse. You’re in
@allegedly_audible nice one @samu check it out
@stormbeats
Thanks. Found it by poking around with the old VoiceJamStudio studio the other day while comparing all the various loopers and samplers I have.
Any old app that lets you connect with AudioShare, but not straight to Files app seems to work.
But that copies the file into Audioshare first which is not what I’m after
@Samu
When it says Import Into App, Tap it.
It should then open back into Koala, with your first open pad now populated by your sample.
I know but the sample is still left behind in AudioShare so housekeeping is needed to avoid creating too many duplicates
(ie. if I pick a file using the FilePicker it's first copied to Audioshare and then copied again over to Koala from AudioShare).
Maybe 'Open In Koala' is a better option
Ok, I see what you mean.
It’s still saving a copy Just by passing through.
Yeah, the constant cleanup would become tedious.
I just had half an hour of the most ridiculously good fun with this app. Sitting in the garden, live sampling the neighbours yapping dogs, and jamming some beats on top to annoy them.
Next time the scrote on the other side is out yelling at her kids, or moaning loudly about her benefits on the phone to her other scrotey mates, I’ll sample that too.
Could make a nice album: Monzo’s Garden.
