    You can book mark,
I normally book mark 1st lane, middle and last
Then you can jump quickly between them

You can tap the home button to go from first channel to last and back as another option.

  • @j_liljedahl do you have any way to donate in order to support your effort?

This might be a stupid question as I have not rtrm (if there indeed is one) as the AUM otherwise seems to be so intuitive, but is there a zoom out view? Like pinch to zoom out?

When there are dozen or more tracks deployed it becomes a bit cumbersome to scroll between them for live play. Guess creating busses and otherwise organizing tracks better helps, but zoom out, quick select to zoom in would be helpful. Any tips from pros? Maybe a humble feature request if this is not implemented in AUM?

Loving the app very much. It unglogged my composing and jamming pipes.

I would also like some scaling of the GUI as an option.

  • Multiout AU in AUM plus the coming update to @LivingMemorySoftware LayR to take advantage of those is potentially the biggest leap in removing sooo much pain and friction in iOS music production. LayR is one of the most powerful and best sounding iOS synths out there, but it always felt like putting a ship in a bottle... this will break that bottle I feel.

  • Thanks @Nicebutfun and @Shiro for the tips! Haven't checked out the bookmarking yet, but suggested way might be useful

@reasOne When you route the output of your midi generators through ‚Toggle Channels‘ Mozaic script (using different midi channels per generator) you can toggle them ‚on bar divisions‘

I have some more multi-midi processing scripts in development :)

is this easy to figure out?

  • @reasOne
is this easy to figure out?

I think it depends. If you are familiar with setting up the output channels per generator and also know how to add a channel filter to the instruments driven by each generator it should be easy.

    • First set a different output channel in all the generators.
    • Next setup AUMs channel filter for each of the instruments to just read the channel on which its generator sends.
    • The session should still play everything, even though all instruments now use a channel filter.

    .

    • Now add the Mozaic midi plugin and load the ToggleChannels script
    • Using AUMs midi matrix, unconnect all generators from their instruments.
    • Route all generators into the script
    • And connect all instruments to receive midi from the script.
    • The pads in ToggleChannels will then mute the channels midi - either on knob defined bar divisions or (if toggled on the help screen) immediately. Active notes are muted if a channel is muted.

    .

If you got this running, you could try out the Midi Matrix Switch. Its 16 settings also allow channel mutes but the main feature is mixing up the channel destinations, which may lead to cool results.

Or route ToggleChannels output into a second Mozaic with Midi Matrix Switch and let the instruments read from MMS - this will combine the effects.

    .

BTW: If you only want to mute a single source, you don't need to setup AUMs input channel filter. Just route the output of the generator to ToggleChannels and set ToggleChannels as the only midi source for the generator. Voila.

  • Never thought this update was coming.

  • Yet another reason to look forward to multichannel IO in miRack!

  • LayR has been updated to work as AU Multi-out. This is BIG

  • @j_liljedahl

When you layout multis for @brambos Scatterbrain and @ElliottGarage EG Pulse, they both have the main channel the app is on, then work from the highest numbered track downwards. The last one is X, which seems to be blank most of the time, as the main app channel is 1.

What is the X channel for? :)

hey man thanks for taking the time to lay this out!!! i’m going to give it a try today! sounds awesome

I think it means that all the input/output buses are already used by existing app instances, so the one with X showing has nothing to connect to. If you tap the X it will bring up the connections pop up menu, and all buses will be greyed out, indicating that they are already taken.

Yep seems so. It says passthrough - wonder what use it has if any?

From experimenting, if Pass Through is selected, the app will function as a normal audio effect, accepting audio input from the effect chain, in the usual non-side chained manner, but if a bus is selected, audio input from the effect chain it sits on is blocked, and it accepts its audio input from the selected bus instead.

Agreed. With updates like this AUM is getting nearer to being a modular synth itself.

  • @j_liljedahl would it be possible to shoehorn in a modwheel control that can be exposed to the left of AU synths? So many synths have great modmatrix capabilities, but there’s no good way to access it often (looking at you Zeeon and iSEM) in AUM ...

  • Short jam showing off sidechaining with RoughRider3 and the new Scatterbrain from @brambos

  • Very nice!

  • @j_liljedahl great update! I’d love groups that could be collapsed. Working with pulse I could have sixteen channels. I supposed once you get into groups you might want to have a built in group bus. Not that you can’t just have a mix bus in your first channel but maybe if you have a built in group bus all your additional sub channels will automatically have the group bus output selected by default.

  • @j_liljedahl thanks for the update! I’m not sure if I mentioned it in the past, but the one additional feature I’d like to see in AUM is making double tapping a MIDI destination not be hardwired to the internal keyboard (or, alternatively, make the internal keyboard a MIDI destination with passthrough)

It was supposed to start with the lowest free bus number, not the highest. This is fixed for next update already :)
X means it's "None" or "Play-through". Tap it to see the list of input/output busses for the plugin.

‘Support Auv3 user Presets shared across host in iOS 13’ is a pretty handy feature...
Hope developers would implement this ASAP...

@j_liljedahl I think there is something buggy with the new update... I lost a complete session today... :(

I always use the recording feature, and the first recording is named after the recorded channel name-tempo- and a number (001-00x), the next recording just increment the number for the name of the archive.

Ok, today the first take was fine but when I stopped recording the second one I got a warning telling:

Could not move recording for channel "MÁSTER"
"CHAN 4" couldn´t be moved to "session 19-2" because an item with the same name already exists.

And there is no chance, just hitting ok and then the recording is lost...

    I`m on 12.4 ipad pro 10.5 2018

Scared! I`m using the recording feauture daily in my workflow!

You should probably email this bug.

Sorry to hear that! It seems to be a bug when a channel has characters as ÁÅÄÖ in their name. I'll look into it, but in the meanwhile make sure to avoid such letters in channel names.
