What iPad Model? (I ask this since I just started OB-Xd in stand alone mode on my iPad Air 2, iPadOS15, I also have it on my iPhone 8/iOS15 and it works there as well).
iPad Air 3 was mentioned by @GLacey on another thread.
Same problem here. 2020 iPad Pro.
Does it give any message? Or does it just not "open"?
Does it create an error log? Look in Settings–>Privacy–>Analytics & Improvements–>Analytics Data. I suspect it may be taking too long to load, and getting zapped by the system.
To be more precise, it starts (the big sawtooth logo pops up), but simply quits within 2 seconds w/o any message.
Yes, I see some ob-xd log files(?) in the Analytics, but I don’t know what to look for in it.
it’s Air3 as @MadGav mentioned
Strange…
First, any useful data is near the top of the file; not much useful farther down. Second, you can ignore logs with "wakeups" in the filename. They are generated by many stand-alone apps, including Audiobus. Finally, look for the Exception Type, Termination Reason, and Termination Description. Those may give a clue as to what the app was doing that offended the system.
Exceptions SIGKILL and SIGQUIT are generated when the system detects bad behavior, like running too long. SIGSEGV is a software error caused by the app trying to access unallocated memory (bad address), often due to uninitialized data. Only the developer can fix that.
If you've enabled sharing with the developer, he'll be receiving a flurry of these from Apple, which should produce a response from him.
OB-Xd and OPL were just updated to fix some issues affecting some iOS15 users.
What a great synth this is. Over time, it’s become about the only non-hardware synth I use
Hi!. I’m struggling with the preset system on this one. Any recommendations for saving fav presets or similar?. There’s no fav feature and I can’t seem to find a way to save a preset (a copy of) into a custom user favorite bank… Any tricks?
I would like this too.
New 1.10 update just came out. In AUv3 I experience problems with opening pop-up lists (including presets lol) and scrolling to the bottom of window. Those weren’t there previously for me. Anyone can confirm?
Yep, the same. Impossible to open presets list in auv3
Yes, I sent an email to the developer reporting the bug
Yes, did the same. And it’s already fixed
Still can’t scroll through the presets slowly enough and precisely enough to see, for instance, the cut-off presets at the top and bottom of the list, between 18-24 on the leftmost preset column etc. When viewing fullscreen, iPad Air 5, Cubasis 3.
I bought it quite a while ago and barely used it (found the file system frustrating as I recall).
Are you supposed to be able to see all the sounds at once in a given bank somehow? My instinct is to tap on the little window but nothing happens. So I have to use “+” sign and go through one at a time without knowing whats in there. Is that the way it is normally?
Tapping the arrows at the top and bottom of the frame displays a page of presets. All available presets show. In AUM it works the same way but it skips 6 lines at the top of page 2 when you go from page 1 to page 2. You can get to the missing presets by choosing a visible preset and then using the arrow keys to navigate to the missing ones.
Thanks. It wasn't doing it in in Aum but works now after I deleted, rebooted and reinstalled. I didnt see any further updates throughout the day but I guess it was fixed at some point.
Yes, but not exactly the most elegant solution. It's been like that forever, or at least since I've had it. Plus the sketchy speed of the scrolling with no way to control it is a bit off as well. Keeps me from using it a lot.
Even though the sounds themselves possible with the app are great, I agree the patch browser is less than ideal. In fact, with so many pre-built options available to developers for pickers, I find it a bit baffling that such a user unfriendly system would even be considered by the developer.
Dixie anyone?
OK, the Dixie patch browser is straight up user hostile.
Wait I love it 😂
Yeah, it's fine.
KQD is great but the preset saving is infernal.
And that's putting it mildly.
Again, nothing against the quality and variety of sounds available, it's just a bit of a nightmare navigating all of the presets, plus there's no way to favorite the best of the best of the thousands of presets available.
New update improves menu navigation and presets selection. Yeah!
Yes! This update is great- the previous way of accessing presets was really fiddly.
Yep! So fiddly that it was basically unusable on iphone. Much better now. Can’t wait to start using it again.
