  • It’s a good synth if I remember rightly, need to dust it off now that it’s got the AU treatment

  • Wow, hello CZ! Does it support CZ sysex?

  • Just been playing with it pre the new version. It’s an enjoyable synth, so glad it’s going AU.

  • Great, this is a good synth with some interesting particle modulation, glad to see it updated to AU :)

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • I’ve been waiting for this!!!! Fantastic synth.

  • Yep great synth. For those who don't know, this is also available on the desktop under the name digits. http://www.extentofthejam.com

  • Interesting that Retronyms (much maligned hereabouts) is edging further across the AUv3 divide - first iMPC Pro 2 and now this instrument

You're saying this is the same synth or that it's inspired by the same synth? This is the same code as Phase84?

  • Oh wow!
    pleasant surprise...

  • Very cool @Retronyms! Thank you 👊

    Same dev, same code

  • Just awesome!
I somehow knew Louis would deliver!
First app from @Retronyms that gets 5 stars from me, well done :)

  • Nice move from Retronym. This is a very good sounding and qualitative app. I am using AU synths 99% of the time...

Super low cpu usage too 1-5% range on my iPad Air 2 :)
The LFOs are crazy fast and the ‘gate’ can add some extra spice when transport is running.

  • I can’t seem to get the gate sequencer to advance steps, always stays on the first one for me.

Transport needs to be running, at least in AUM.
And the gate also needs to be enabled for the amp as an example.

Working fine here in AUM as AUv3 and Also stand-alone.

Working in standalone but not AUv3 for me, wonder if that’s an iPad Pro 12.9 issue, will load on Air 2 later.

edit: strange I started a new AUM project and it works in that one, can't see why it wasn't working in my last session, might be I was automating something via midi which blocked it. :)

  • Cool. I don't know if I'd necessarily call this a 'good' synth, but it's definitely a fun one.

Ok, turned out that transport is NOT needed but it has to be enabled for AMP or Shaper or both in order to be heard :)

Yeah, it's weird though. for me it works in some AUM sessions but not all, can't figure out why. Either the sequencer doesn't advance or it does depending on the session I load a Phase84 AU into. At least it works in a fresh session though. :)

Having no such issues in apeMatrix.

Fun it's what it's all about for me.
The FM.Growler preset under 'sweeps' with gate set to 'Funk' and amp is quite neat for long held notes :)

  • Finally AU! What a funk B)

  • If you check on the extent of the jam site, it says it's pretty much it's the same engine. I guess retronyms reskinned it and added some other goodies like the gate tab and XY thingy.

I'd go as far as to say that I'm pretty confident that the same person who created digits is also responsible for the Phase84 :)

    No more Tabletop!? ;-)

Cool, thanks for that. Just downloaded this for my Mac.

My first synth was a CZ3000. I still have it. I must get it out and see if it still works. (I can't remember if I took out the battery! :-o )

    So true...
Even more so after they didn't want to play nice with Audiobus in the past. And some (as I recall) weird IAA implementations (or maybe it was just Tabletop )

But when I saw the update for Phase84 this morning, I was delighted

That's on hold for a while. Probably they're letting it rot and die
Gonna try finding a message I sent last year asking them about it
