Stupid question on Polyhymnia..... and maybe I need to RTFM, but is there a way to vary a sequence slightly? For example I have a a nice 2 bar loop that I have used shuffle all on. I like it but just want to add or slightly randomly change it. Every time I copy to a new area and try to add on it does not work.
You or anyone any tips?

Sorry, not sure what exactly you've tried, can you give me a few more details on what you've done and what you want to do?
Ok let me try again...... I have a one bar clip see picture. I used polyhymnia to generate that... very simple for this example. I want to be lazy and have the tool slightly change it (ie add another note, change a length of a few, drop a note or 2 to different pitches...etc.). So I copy the clip and open up poly on the new clip. No matter what I do I can not add or update anything. I go in and change length, pitch.. etc and go back to first screen and hit add/update and nothing. FYI maybe have that add/update button on all tabs?
@onerez OK, there's a few things I can think of here.
First, when you duplicate a clip, its current Polyhymnia settings are copied as well, so if you tap on "Add / Update" in it, nothing will seem to happen because all the generated notes are duplicates of existing ones and will be skipped.
However you said you've actually changed settings, but the Add / Update button still doesn't do anything? That sounds like a bug then. But maybe there's still a misunderstanding.
Note also that there's two ways PolyHymnia works:
a) if there's already a selection, it will replace (delete) it with the new notes
b) if nothing is selected, it will add the new notes to the clip.

OK @SevenSystems ...... sorry for wasting your time! Ugggg. My problem was I had notes selected. I have it working now. Is there a way to add the update button to every tab so for example if you adjust length or pitch you dont have to go back to global to add/update?

Don't worry, I agree the user interface could use some re-thinking there maybe.
I'm sure an Update button could be added to each tab, but what about "Auto-Replace Selection"? That will essentially automatically tap the "Add / Update" button anytime you change any setting on any tab.
I'm still not quite sure what you're trying to do in general though -- if you want to add notes using PH to an already existing PH sequence, you could also just create another track lane and then create a second clip there, which you can then independently manipulate with PH?
I am not sure what I am trying to do either....... could be from all the Raves i did in the early 90’s has damaged a lot of brain cells... unlike @wim who became a savant genius..... I have been degrading over time. 😂. It’s all good as I think that I have what i want for now.

this app works so good and is so advanced, i’ve been making great progress with my ep recently , relying heavily on x2 / aum to play well together with no disappointments or crashes and it has been a great success.
to anyone looking for a serious midi sequencer to actually finish and arrange songs, look no further! xequence 2 is what you are looking for!

yeah however made xuecence 2 its poly generative mode is still floating in the ether. great app for ext gear in my rig I should totally rock monopoly with this.

Agreed! Adding AB3 into that mix puts the arrangement over the top with easy switching via sidebar. It's also nice for managing IAA apps like Patterning 2 that don't quite cooperate easily in AUM.

Has stopped working for me. Only just emailed dev with crash messages so he may well have a fix but just seeing if anyone else has been having any issues...
All good here. It would be helpful if you provided details of your OS version, Device, and how you have X2 set up. It's pretty difficult to give any meaningful corroboration without that.
BTW, X2 was last updated four months ago, so it's unlikely related to any change in X2.
And of course the obligatory (but vitally important): "Have you tried rebooting your device?"
