It's an awesome update, right? The IAA integration means zero latency into apps like Auria now too, and that's kinda sexy. The AB integration has been tightened up drastically and is awesome in BM2 and other apps. Bedlam is something that's hard for me to quit playing with (stop playing with that or you'll go blind) and the new sound packs are amazing too. Kudos to Sonosaurus for all his hard work here. It shows.
I've got a set coming up in a couple weeks and I'm re-organizing it to center around live performance on drumjam, all because of this update.
I LOVE this app but I also feel it could benefit very greatly with a re-designed graphic interface. To me, the visual design is terrible and doesn't help to make the functionality intuitive. But to say again I LOVE everything else...

Yeh, where do we get to hear the IAP packs? I already got the North Indian one for the tabla tarang( sweeeeeeet) , would love to hear the other packs too.
I was hoping for a bundle pricing on all of them too ;-)
Is that coming soon ?
We're working on both demo videos and audio previews of the packs... stay tuned.
Bundle-of-bundle pricing is still an open question. Since we plan to release more content on a regular basis, doing that could be pretty hairy to maintain. Suggestions welcome, however.
Bought em all. Really liking the taiko sounds, well I'm liking all the new percussion sounds, but at the moment I'm looking for more massive/cinematic stuff, and the taiko plus the cymb pack fits well in there. If I can make a future sound pack request it would be for more hard hitting cinematic stuff, gah can't find the right names now even tho I've been using that type of percussions for years, have to get back on that one lol. Commonly found in your typical Hollywood action scenes, or epic soundtracks though. Anyway, awesome update, bedlam is just too much fun, and the pitch changing, changing loop length etc = very useful additions.
IAP issues ~
Anyone having problems with their IAP packs not showing up?
I purchased the Taiko & Cymbals packs, both show as "installed", but only the Taiko pack shows up in the patch list.
I'm having the same issue on my iPad and iPhone.
Hmm...?
Other than that -
Great update!!
The cymbals doesn't have any preset-loops in the preset list as far as I know. But you'll have 5 new cymbals/rides amongst the loops, each with 20 or so variations to sprinkle on top of all the other presets
. And one new cymbal preset for the pad (with rides and cymbals divided up on 10 or so sections).

MORE COWBELL...I mean Timpani
Yep Timpani would also be a great addition. +1 on that
I made this one like 6-8 years ago so dunno what I used. But the hard hitting "toms" used throughout the track, and similar sounds/variations, are what I'm looking for in iOS land. I think drumjam would be the best app to do stuff like that with ATM.
@Sonosaurus, other anyone else in the know, can we export loops/recorded drums to a DAW as separate tracks? Sorry if this has been covered already.
So I was Googling a few of the drum names I wasn't familiar with and found this videos while searching BALAFON.
42,000 views..... (one person doesn't like it)
Not me, I think it's awesome.![](https://img.youtube.com/vi/G8QD6-o2Uis/0.jpg)

This is a great update! Loving the new sounds!! All the best

Not right now, you'd have to solo the individual loop parts and record them separately to get them exported to a DAW that way. Sounds like a good feature request, though!
If you are using Audiobus you can separate the loops output from the pad instrument output and record them independently to a DAW, for those that support it.
Im just interested in electronic drums!
Is this app for me, with the electronic iap? Any demos around with the electronic kits?
It's not the price, i just dont wanna end up buying anything i wont use.
Jesse, not sure if DJ is recording a 1 bar loop right....I've tried a couple.DJ seems to chop a tiny bit off the front of the loop and stick it on the end.Is there something in the settings I should be adjusting?..I'm set on 120bpms and 2 beats.
Not a major issue tho...I can record into audioshare and trim.
Also what is ' exclusive solo mode'?
Again, thanks for this update.feels like a whole new app.

@Simon Thanks for your input!
The Electronic IAP with the Bedlam effect going on the pads while using the new Electronic Loops in the main area is SO much fun.
Now that DJ has possibility of different time signatures will we see different loops, for example 6/8. At the moment changing to 6 beats gives a loop of 4 beats plus 2 of the loop. Not the feel that you would expect. Iap loops of 3s and 6s for example will allow building more useful loops. Any plans?
Came here to say how much I like the new Drum Jam update and ended up buying Voice Synth. Doug's videos are like crack.
Very pleased with this. Not usually that keen on drum apps but this really has an edge. Using Step Poly Arp for midi in and getting some great results.
Just finishing a video for the update, should be live in an hour or so, very very good
@thinds Ah, interesting. So you have Step Poly Arp controlling the pads? How do you do that, exactly?

I second this although this is only based on first impressions of the electro pack. I must try using it with bedlam to express a properly informed opinion. This app is worth it even if just for the world sounds though. With a bit of turnado they could be an interesting addition to an electronic track.
Here is the new video, it will also have its own thread. No real need for an intro here, but this is a superb update and well worth the wait.

Thanks so much @thesoundtestroom for getting out ahead of us as usual with a demo!
I just wanted to note that although setting the beat count to 2 makes it much quicker to switch when you make a change, it is also only playing the first 2 beats of the 8 beat (2 bar) loop... so you are missing out on a lot of the human variation Pete put in over those 2 bars.
@simon great vid I too bought voice synth after watching. One question how do you send only the loop to voice synth separate from the playing area . As it is they are both going into the synth. Thanks
