anybody know how to use the round robin feature in the most recent update ?

It works for me when recording samples but importing samples seems buggy. Turn on Round Robin for a pad. Record a sample. That will automatically go to layer one. Record a second sample and hit Add Sample. It will ask you what layer to put it on. Use layer two. Repeat and use three. When I try to import samples it will crash on three. I’m not going to worry about it at this time since another update should be out soon.

I bet he is working on it.
    On IPadOs it’s running great

I’ll ask again for the last time (my bad!) - has anyone managed to record the midi from DigiStix into NS2? I’ve tried Midi Route, which normally works perfectly, but it’s not working. Cubasis records the midi with no problems, so I’m wondering how best to proceed. If someone uses an app that works for this, I’ll be happy to purchase it instantly. If not, does anyone know the devs email address so I can let him know of the issue? Cheers, folks.

I have not been able to get it to work either. Don’t have the dev’s email address.
I did record it into Photon in AUM and just exported the midi to NS2 and ran it into DigiStix on that. It’s a workaround anyway... haven’t tried using photon as a midi effect in NS2. If that does work, then you could keep it all in NS2: NS2>DigiStix>Photon(record then export to midi library in NS2)

Thanks. I guess I'll check Photon out.

Can’t get it to work. Not really a function I need so I no longer pursue.

Thanks. I'm in love with DigiStix - I just wish I could get the damned midi into NS2!

PS - while I was writing this some other people answered. It looks like everyone has a slightly different approach. I think it’s best to wait for the next update before getting too far into this. It seems to be intermittently buggy. Most of it is brilliant. The next update will also bring some new features. I have no ties to the app. Just been in contact with the dev.

Could you possibly raise the NS2 issue with him? Cheers.

Has NS2 developer weighed in on whether or not they will directly support MIDI out from AUv3? It seems that would be better than a work-around

It outputs midi to Cubasis but not NS2. NS2 has an issue with recording midi but can do it easily through the use of the Midi Route app. Trouble is, Digistix is not working with Midi Route in NS2. I'm assuming this is a Digistix issue because Midi Route works with every other app I've tried, just not Digistix. The developer hasn't said anything about it on here, as far as I know, and I don't know his email address to contact him. I wish I did because I now work solely in NS2 (although sometimes Xequence/AUM, too), which means I can't really use Digistix productively yet. It's a lovely app, though.

New update has full screen for Garageband users. and so far it’s the cleanest full screen I’ve seen to date. SynthMaster One is a close second.

I second that..it crashes when editing efx or samples.
Any idea if midi cc's mapping will be available?

Not sure on that one, unfortunately. I’m still trying to get it working in NS2. I’ll look at other stuff after that.

This focus on a ‘fix’ to work with a third party workaround for a feature that doesn’t yet exist in a single DAW feels like a bit of a thread derail...

I’m sure someone posted the developers email address that if you are not on FB. I will see if I can find it.

  • It's a really cool drum app by the way. Well worth the money in my view and the developer said he is now looking at probability/randomization also.

Yeah, this one has a LOT of features for a $7.99 AUv3 drum machine. I've started sampling stuff into pads and time stretching and it's very quick/easy in AUM or AB. I haven't had too many crashes at all... I still use AudioLayer for my "big boy sampler" AUv3 app, but this one is really slick for quick, on-the-fly experiments where I want to pair up a loop/longer sample with a sequenced beat. Pretty dang cool!

  • The timestretching sounds ok but would be better as a non destructive like in beathawk

  • Round robin is causing my app to crash when I try to add Layer 3 of a sample.

  • @Poppadocrock said:

My understanding is there's another bug fix and features update coming soon. Hopefully it will take care of this. Round Robin works OK for me when recording samples but issues when importing.

  • Anybody know if random robin is coming?

  • edited September 2019

can you record the sequencer notes straight into cubasis or do you need the midi route app for this?

edit:watched the introduction video and could answer this myself.

  • Pardon my ignorance what is round robin ?

  • @Jumpercollins said:

The same pad plays a different sample (from a set of samples you chose) every time you hit it (even with the same velocity).
It’s not random (which I’d prefer) but plays the samples on a circular order
    Hope it makes sense :)

  • PLEASE allow mapping of filter to velocity....PLEASE?

It would be nice if we could use velocity strictly for filter frequency and not volume if we so desire.

    Thx mr. developer.

    Nice that’s perfect thanks 🙏

  • Anyone with comments on Dougs loops in Digistix as a faux DAW arranger?

I'd love to use Digistix as a primitive serial loop launcher to "rough-out" loops made in AUM serially as a song inside Digistix in side of AUM. (hope that made sense)

Strange.what iPad do you have ?im on pro 11 and it only crashed once and I don’t think it was up to Digi but rather I had many audio apps I the background..restarted my iPad and no issue yet

  • so in the app. what is the purpose of the piano keyboard below the sample waveform box? can you assign the pitch of the sample here? or is it just a reference to where the sample is placed ?
