Next someone will ask for audio tracks😊 It already has a LOT of features,if that's not enough to be highly creative then the problem is sitting in front of the screen 😉

    +1

It already has audio tracks via loop playback and step/time arranging. ;)

Envelope and hp/lp per pad would be really welcome features

    +1 for envelope

  • New update just came through. Probability is here. Here are the changes.

  • @Harro shared this on another thread. I thought it would be good info to share here as well. Cheers.

“the keymapping in Rozeta XOX and Rozeta Rhythm for Digistix is:
    BD = 48, SD = 49, CP = 53, LT = 58, MT = 57, HT = 56, CH = 50, OH = 51.”

Well I’ll definitely buy your kit 😁. But yes longtime coming, I had thought good AU drum samplers would be most prevalent early on. Nice that some developers are stepping up to the plate. After playing with both so far I’m drawn more towards DigiStix. Will certainly ask the developer about 4x4 when in full screen mode. The 2x8 is perfect in letterbox mode.

Thanks! For the 2x8 set up is there a specific drum configuration you favor? On 4x4 or 8x4 I already have a pretty nice layout method, but I’m totally new to this layout. What’s the best pad layout for trap in your opinion on 2x8?

Not sure myself. One idea is to split digistix pads vertically in half. (So now you have 4 2x4’s)

then Treat the left 2x4’s as your bottom two rows and the right 2x4’s as your top two rows. that might work 🤔

The mixer could show which channels are playing since it's not possible to see pads and mixer at the same time :)
Not being able to see the pads and select a kit makes kit auditioning tricky.

Or maybe I'm just too picky or something...

Just found a work-around for this you can select browse drum kits in the top menu, then it will remain as an overlay when you scroll down to the pads

The latest update adds “browse Drumkits” to the sequencer page. Making it even faster to the preset menu along with pads

    Hmmmm...interesting. I’ll try that out

    Wow, great additions!
    Thanks!

  • Sounds great.

I have a question. In standalone mode is it possible to trigger the drum sounds via midi from another ios sequencer on iphone like Xequence 2 or is that only possible via Auv hosts?

  • Wow: DigiStix packs a LOT of power into an ultra-elegant UI. I almost overlooked this one and it's instantly in my top-tier of apps.

The latest additions are stellar and I can't wait to see where it goes from here.

Yes, it has full input support, even direct via Bluetooth from other devices.

  • Great app. Is it possible to change patterns using MIDI?

Yup, I could see it evolving into a platform

Yes, works great.. and I made a drum map for Xequence 2 (the pads are mapped but each kit varies so the labels would need to be changed accordingly)

If it is, I haven't found the mapping. Would be great addition to an already very useful app.

Thanks @wim, downloaded now and it 'just works' with Xequence 2

  • Stupid question, but I'm too lazy to read the whole thread:

Can Digistix drive Ruismaker, for instance, in AUM?

  • Any way to export/share patterns and songs? I can’t seem to find this so far

  • Even though I like DigiSticks there's stuff in there that hurts my OCD.

    • Start by horizontally aligning the controller grid with the pattern grid.
    • Newly added steps should have 100% probability and not be 'blank'.
    • Indication of which steps actually contain events in the controller view (colour the step numbers with grid velocity values)
    • The mixer doesn't give any feedback as to which tracks are playing.
    • No way to assign midi-notes to empty pads for controlling external drum apps.

Don't know if Paul reads these forums posts but I guess the info reaches him one way or the other.
For now the only way to export audio is to freeze a track or record the output.

Other than that it's pretty neat :)

  • Loving all the updates. I’m realizing now that the iPad Auv3 view is same as the iPhone, in that only one “pane” is viewable at a time, vs the two pane view in the iPad stand alone setting.

So my question is, in the Auv3 view, how do I insert fade rolls / triplets / accents / etc into the grid when those buttons and the grid are on separate panes?

    Thanks!

Depends on your host. So far I’ve been able to get full screen in all the hosts I’ve tried. Which one do you use?

Actually I just discovered how to go full screen GB on the iPad. Still doesn’t help me on the iPhone, though.

Yes I think in the notes he described that the iPad version is better in this regard

  • Does digistix have filters per pad? And is it only one Bank/16pads?

  • @stormbeats said:

No filters per pad that I’ve seen yet. Though given the rapid evolution of the app I can see how it could appear.
    1 bank at a time 2x8 pads.

  • @realdavidai ok thanks - might wait till hopefully it gets more banks and pad filters

  • @stormbeats said:

You could use each AU instance as a bank.

@ExAsperis99 yes true but Iam used to the MPC drum machine background or Gr16 style slice to pads. Also thinking to use Stix more as standalone.

  • @4Pockets I still think lack of mutes is something that should be addressed, but I have been even more impeded by the lack of ability to move to different step ranges in the controllers section. To me, the controllers tab is where a lot of magic happens and you can either keep the transport running and hope you get things set as things zoom by--or you have to go back up to the events controls that are two panels away to change the step ranges to set pitch, velocity, probability, etc. That is tedious. Why not let the user swipe to the next range of steps right in the controller tab?
