The main thing I hope to see is fully fledged, multi-channel audio and midi routing options. If it was easy to route audio in and out then If it is more efficient to run it as standalone, then I'd be happy to use it that way.

You mean to/from other apps or hardware?

    yes :)

For example, the ability to route hardware from channels 1&2 from my audio interface into a waveshaper, channel 3 to an envelope follower, etc.. route ios instruments as well, and then route the outputs to any available channels of an interface.

in the modular realm isn't it all about connectivity?

I don't mean to sound greedy. I'm happy as it is, just dreamin' :-)

I'd like to see multichannel HW I/O as well if it's possible.

  • Another vote for multichannel audio routing. Personally I can live without AUv3 support. Standalone is fine with me.... but I need a way to route signals in and out of miRack. I’m just too used to having patchbays and real modular where I have this type of flexibility.

  • IMPORTANT: I have found what's causing miRack performance degradation on 2018 iPad Pro devices updated to iPadOS. The fix will be available once it passes the App Store review.

  • @mifki would you mind share details what was issue ? Something broken by Apple again ? :-)

  • There's a couple of features from the Nord G2 I'd really like to see implemented, and I reckon wouldn't be hard:

    1) ability to hide cables! Ability to reclour cables. Default cable colour is the last one used. With Miracks it gets tedious wiring up numerous gate cables and having to tap four times each time to get a yellow cable.

    2) Patch variations. Instead of having to close and save, make duplicate to make a variation, the ability to have a number of variations (Nord g2 has eight) in a single patch and being able to switch between them would be stellar!

Do you mean different, switchable cabling between the same modules?

Something related to CPU throttling or moving threads to low-performance cores. Seems to be some difference between how audio thread and my additional threads are throttled. Not something I expected to change with iOS update.

  • interesting... never underestimate apple, they are able to change unimaginable things from version to version in API :))

No, in Nord Modular you can save all knob settings as "snapshot", or "patch in patch"... you tweak knobs, save it as another snapshot, again theak some knobs, another snapshot

then you can continuously morph between those snapshots !!!

Of course those are just snapshots of knobs/buttons, not cables.

On the G2 you can save 8 variations per patch/preset, meaning no rewiring. But you cannot morph between the variations. OTOH, there are 8 morph knobs, which can have multiple parameters assigned with the ability to set range for each target parameter.

OK, I know these from the old Nord Modular. The morph knobs are indeed very useful as they allow for sound control by MIDI CC that cannot be achieved by just mapping CC to single knobs. One CC controls as many knobs+buttons as you want, with a freely definable range, offset and polarity.

hm strange... i had G2 long time ago (prolly 10-12years ?) but i was sure this was possible... maybe wrong memory, thanks for correcting :-)

Any chance that this solved also the audio glitch problems on iPad Pro 2015?

Sorry, no. This is the next thing I’ll look into.

  • @mifki What happened to the 'keyboard' modules, they seem to be missing :(

Don't tell me someone forced you to remove them...
(If that's the case I'll boycott the desktop VCV rack for as long as I breathe).

Where, I can't find it and the patches I had it in it's an 'empty slot' in the rack... :(
(I just updated the app like 10 minutes ago).

Mmmm maybe something is up with patches but you can find the twelve key module under ‘tag’ ‘controller’

Beware: I had my miRack patches stored 'on my iPad' and updating reverted that to 'iCloud Drive' and thereby deleted all my patches :( They still show in 'recent used' in miRack, but i can't load them .

I also could no longer find the 12 key keyboard module, IIRC it had been a module tagged as controller. @[Deleted User] After updating to 1.04 there are only 5 controller modules, and no keyboard module

It's weird that yours shows more clock modules than mine?!

Something is definitely fishy with the update...

  • Is there a wavefolder among the currently included modules? (

Did you try a default patch? Im on ipad pro 9’7 2017

Are you using a NON ipad pro?

I actually have iCloud disabled FYI. Im on latest version 1.04 with 8 controller modules.

  • edited October 2019

@samu latest iPad OS on a iPad Pro 9.7 2016, storing the patches on my iPad, 8 modules in controllers latest version of MiRack. Yes some weird behaviour if you are only seeing 5.

  • I have 5 controller modules in my iPad 2017, 8 in my iPad Pro 2018, same versions. Maybe a compilation/packaging issue?

  • Same here. Air 2, iOS 12.3.1

  • edited October 2019

Yeah, something is up with 1.04. I reverted to the beta version 1.03 and Twelve Key is there but not in new version; however if you have an old patch, be careful re: upgrade until this is resolved.

    I'm on 13.1 with iPad Pro 2016.
