  • @mifki beta feedback sent,

  • I haven't delved into this app properly yet. Is there an easy way to get a playable keyboard going for patches?

  • @mifki Yeay, you are right :) My patches are back, but lots of the modules use in them are missing - probably impromptu (i remember using GateSeq64, Foundry, two TwelveKey and Clocked)

I hope opening the patch didn't automatically overwrite, or i have to reconstruct it when the missing modules are back - at least the osc and fx settings are back. That's why i only opened one of the now restored patches.

I made a duplicate before opening. It re-saves without the missing module on close.

  • I was planning to add a better indication of missing modules and preserve them on save. I hope this will not be needed again for miRack patches, but is useful when opening vcv patches from desktop.

  • FYI I am not seeing any of these issues. I store patches on iCloud Drive. iPad Air 1 12.4.2

Those Valley modules look yummy and they are free :)
(Would love to see them in miRack too).

miRack get's a mention too in the video :)

Yes just watched the video great to see Nick acknowledging MiRack.

  • The issue with IM modules has been fixed in the latest beta. Will be available on the App Store as soon as possible. If you need the modules right now, send me a PM and I'll share the beta version with you.

Just got a reply from Valley dev on this YT video about potential Mirack ports. Sounds like he’s definitely interested in seeing it happen :)

Just when I find myself drifting a little more toward HW and desktop production lately, you wonderfully talented iOS devs keep enticing me back with amazingly cool apps & ports like this! Thanks for your incredible work with Mirack and for being so actively involved with the community.

Yes, Valley modules would definitely be the most welcome addition.
Also can a digital readout of the rotated knob be added to the top panel?

In dark mode you can’t see the text in acknowledgments.

Just manually updated to 1.05 and the IM modules are back. Thanks for the quick turnaround.

  • iPad Pro 12.9 - 2nd generation - iOS 12.4.1
    Updated to miRack 1.05
Impromptu Modular missing completely from browser.
IM modules missing from previously built patches.

In the latest update my IM modules are back!!!
BUT.. any patches that I opened during the time when the modules were missing got overwritten without them.
A reboot didn’t bring them back. It will require me to re-add the modules and make the connections again.

    Unfortunately this didn’t help.
    IM modules still missing.
    Any other suggestions greatly appreciated.

This is worrying as I have opened my patches to check for IM.
In future I think a screen grab will be necessary before closing a patch just so as to be able to get back after a bug.

  • Hey @Daub ,

I used to go under the name Daub....released tracks on AcidPlanet....years ago now. I don't use it anymore.

Seeing your username gave me mad flashbacks to then :)

  • IM back after update, iPad Pro 9.7, 12.3.1; still have patches.

    I’m up and running again.
I’m not sure how it happened.
I returned to the App Store to discover a 1.05 update still available.
    I thought I’d done that.
    So I did it (again)
And all is now well. Thank you Anatoly.

  • I'd had the idea to downgrade VCV Rack on my MacBookPro to version 0.6.2c (I had an archived copy of the app) but learned that all of the older versions of plug-ins/modules are no longer available on the VCV Rack website. I was a bit disappointed, but glad I didn't waste too much time figuring this out. I suppose I'm writing about this here in hopes that maybe someone will tell me "Yes, it is possible. Here's how" or talk some sense into me by asking "Why would you want to do that when you can do this instead?"

I'm still uncertain as to what direction mirack will grow. I gather that it is not feasible (as it does not appear to be welcomed by VCV developers) to expect that mirack will be updated to guarantee the sort of cross-compatibility I'd hoped to have. Ideally, I'd hoped to have patches created on my iPad be patches I could open in VCV and host inside my DAW. I'm still trying to figure out a workflow, not to mention still trying to learn more about modular synthesis patching.

  • I need to get my errrrr stuff together, and really give this a proper sit down.... I always said it would be a great fit on the platform, and we have it now, and I've barely spent ten minutes with it lol :(

  • I love how easy it is to create a super smooth and nice 'decimator' just using two simple modules :)
A Bogaudio S&H clocked with Bogaudio VCO.
(Most iOS decimators are locked to 'sample ratios' and do not allow for truly free downsample rate).

    Still exploring all the modules...

Most of the plugin developers I talked to, support miRack, and that's what matters for availability of the plugins/compatibility. However it's a more complicated question - you can't expect all the desktop plugins to be available on iOS in any case. But the other way round it should work - and you definitely should be able to open iOS patches on desktop, either already or I'll do the required work to support that, if needed.

Great! From iOS to desktop would be the typical direction for me.
