Must be. Let me try that....
@Kashi yes
Boom! That was it. cheers @royor
Cool! š I know it stumped me earlier too..
Next Koala question; I canāt seem to make the interface any bigger than this:
Is this as big as it will go?
Itās sorted now @offbrands - I hadnāt enabled āuse Audio unitsā in my Ableton prefs. Thanks for your help
@Kashi In the standalone, there are options to change the window size for different iPhones + iPads.. maybe whichever you choose here will carry over to Ableton.. worth a try..
I canāt see what it does in Ableton because Iām running Live 11 on an old MacBook Pro thatās running Catalina still.. yup weāre talking ancient.. anyway, koala doesnāt show up in this version so Iām not sure if it works or not..
Just makin (vegan) sushi. Will try that after tea.....Thanks!
Tried that now, but doesnāt make a difference. Good idea thoughā¦
Anyone else know the solution to this? At the moment, when I use Koala as an Audio Unit within Ableton, the Koala UI is only taking up about 1/8th of my screenā¦..and I canāt find a way to make it any bigger (?)
When i browse samples in browser section (cloud icon) they are too loud compared to ongoing, played samples.
Can i set the preview volume somehow?
Is there a quick way to. āLock all Padsā to the Pitch Knob? So one can shift all pads to a New Key?
Thanks..
Nope.
Nope.
Ok⦠seems essential..

To change the pitch of everything temporarily use the PITCH slider on the PERFORM page.
Or You can select multiple pads by holding the EDIT button down then you can change the pitch of all of them with the pitch knob.
Nice!
Maybe itās me, but⦠Is it that difficult to add a āSelect All Padsā button? Selecting a project with 32 pads of samples can be very tedious.. killing that creative spirit in the process..
And the Performance Effect Pitch does not sound/work the same as ātransposingā the pitch of samples..
Thanks for the responseā¦
Sampling is out of my comfort zone.
I want to use Koala as a sampler for playing via a midi keyboard
I know that a sampled note is played back faster or slower to change pitch.
In Koala can I sample two notes per octave to keep the sound more authentic?
If I sample an E1 how do I make sure that E1 on my midi keyboard
This may be very rudimentary but I have only seen videos featuring really elaborate stuff that I would never use. I just want to learn the basics
Koala doesnāt have that capability.
You can try turning on stretch for the sample, but the quality isnāt likely to be like what youāre after.
You might want to look at Chmeleon or AudioLayer for that capability.
I started Koala for the first time yesterday, and suddenly lost 2 hours. I love what I'm able to get out of it natively, but it's black hole time-warping feature should come with a warning label.
I want to figure out if there is a way to record when using the performance mode without something like another instance of Koala to capture the output.
Just noticed that the key I select (natural minor) when using keyboard mode is not saved when I reopen my project (In AUM). Also, I have 4 instances of Koala open in this project, and I gave them all different background images, to help easily differentiate between them when I play live. These are not saved either. All 4 have reverted back to the same, one image.
Any thoughts on how to save these 2 things?

A quick way to grab instrumentals and acapellas off of youtube videos:
step 1: find sexy vidya (aka copy url)
step 2: rip using your favorite 'youtube2mp3' url/app
step3: upload to: https://sesh.fm/tools/acapella-extractor
Final Step: Download stems (zip)*
*import Audio to Koala pads
