👍 Well... $150 for desktop VSTs would not get you even half the variety and fun, lol.
About returns, I think that you get 24 hours, at least. Though as @d4d0ug mentioned above, the devs have to (unfairly, imho) foot some of the bill for some bizarre reason. There should be a demo available, like you said. Such is life...
I grabbed Syntorial for half price and picked up where I left off after the free lessons. It’s so well done and I’ve learned a ton already. For example, I didn’t really understand the difference between the amp and filter envelopes. I had read about them, but it didn’t click until I had to work through the lessons. I also bought Zeeon and have been using it for the “on your own” challenges.
Zeeon was (is) my go to for implementing things I was learning from Syntorial, too!
Scalebud - $1.01 (completed bundle) great deal easy to play notes and chords in scale
Ruismaker Noir - $3.99 great
Troublemaker- $3.99 great
Ripplemaker- 3.99 great Completes my Bram Bos collection
Nano studio 2 - $5.99 - like I really need another DAW but couldn’t pass up price
Mood - $5.99 Really nice, rich sounds
Cykle - 4.99 I like the sequencing possibilities, lot of fun to mess with and see what u get
Total $29.95
Bought 2 $15 dollar gift cards on sale at Target for $25.50
Still eyeing up a couple more too... can’t decide... I have so so many. Any recommendations out of the apps still on sale? See list here...

This is a great way of doing things, bravo!
I only bought 2 apps. I hope I don’t get kicked out of the forum 🥺😬
Dm2
4pockets -De-esser
So far...
Tonality
Ultimate Circle of Fifths
Eos Reverb
Digital D1
Atom piano roll
Perforator
Discord4
Thinking about Pure Synth but since I have D1, I may not really need it...
Might get MIDI Mod, really cool and cheap, not sure if I need it.
Might get Zeeon or Bassalicious.
Hard to decide?
I haven’t even checked out the presets yet. I saw the two oscillators and the default init patch and got to work!
Thanks for the encouragement!
Bought a whole bunch, most of them been on my to-buy list since I discovered their existence. Only had a brief time with each of them so far.
GeoShred Pro - Best of the bunch so far. Very impressive, this is one i'm going to be using massively
Animoog - up there too for sure
Model D - and...
Zeeon - ... are really great sounding synths, i wonder which one i'll like the best over time. Either way, both will see lots of use
Sunrizer - ...not too far behind
Ripplemaker - very fond of this one already, better than I hoped for and will see more use than I expected. Should try and hook it up with Spectrum which have been collecting dust since my initial testing
Rozeta - seems useful. Haven't really got into the whole AUM workflow yet but this I guess could make it somewhat faster/easier
Troublemaker - seems nice
Ruismaker Noir - won't be using this a go-to for rhythm stuff but it'll occasionally be nice on top of more basic drum sounds
NanoStudio 2 - this one i'm not gelling with so far. I know getting into a new daw and it's workflow takes time but after a first few tries, most features (disregarding obsidian) seems counterintuitive to me and I got stuck constantly. Didn't have quite the same experience with cubasis (though annoying in some aspects), and with Gr-16 e.g. i only ever had to reach the manual for the songmode.
ReAmp - haven't tried this out yet. End of chain stuff
I havent got any yet... still waiting to see who all joins in on cyber monday.
LoopField, Bark Filter, Der Voco, and Tonality.
That’s it.
I displayed all of the wild profligacy of a Mennonite this Black Friday.
You should be icy now. Tried one in a store a week ago and the first patch I hit was a beautiful warm pad with reverb... made me do the stanky face instantly and say “Daaaaaaamn”. Lol.
Roxsyn, AudioLayer, future drummer, Ruismaker noir, DDMF MagicDeathEye, a few beathawk and blocswave packs, patterning2, BLEASS delay... I think that’s it for apps
Also ordered some monitors and some cannabis stuff

Probably spent around a $1000 all in
I loaded up on all the @Brambos apps that I didn't own already... uniformly the best solo developer on IOS.
2nd place award to @jimpavloff: I needed GR-16 to complete the set. Still wondering about those 2 IAPs for GR-16 and no one has any input (yet). Trying to use a patchstorage download for GR-16 that needs one of them to work. @RajahP could slip me a clue.
3rd place (non-solo) developer - Korg Inc. I kept looking at the synths I don't already own and finally decided to go cheap and check out iKaosilator... I'm NOT the target user but I have to admit they know how to make groove tools for the man on the street. So, simple and it makes you feel good for making simple decisions on instrument types. It's like an auto-DAW.
Makes me wonder about some of the other "auto-creator" apps they have. No AUv3 or even audio into IAA apps but still. Korg makes great sounding apps and I bought every synth that I'd like to own so this was just a way to leave a tip in their jar for BF. They are the best Corp Developer for IOS and the AUv3 Electribe Wave is so good (KEW is for YOU!).
Odds and ends: Eventide Rotary (thx @daveypoo), Esoteric Synth (like a Universal AUv3 Shoom Synthesizer... so cool for $2), completed the Bleass bundle for $0, Delayrium's Real and Surrea l, Roxsyn (you don't have to put on the Red Light), Roxsyn, and for the visual arts Pro Camera and LumaFusion.
I got off cheap but will still have to explain some extra weird charges on the credit card.
"It's the most wonderful time of the year."
Time to figure out Turnado. Thx @Daveypoo for the video clues.
That was the first iOS app I tried on an iPod touch at work. Ran home and bought an iPad.
It's definitely a recruiting app to get more players in the game. I think Propellerhead's tried to tap this market with Reason Compact. I like a good sounding app even when I know I'm being played into a walled garden. I bought a lot of Reason Compact IAP's too and it's really easy to make stuff with it. Hard to record for general use cases but still... great sounding synths and instruments.
Re: the gr16 IAPs ... got them all. So far have mostly used the stock sounds. There’s a lot of good stuff in there. Well worth it I think, to me at least. Trinkets for the dev too.
I have anxiety. I bought a $100 gift card and I'm contemplating throwing it at the Fabfilter bundle. All the reviews say how far Superior it is to everything else like it on iOS so I feel like I should own it, but that is a lot of money despite the sale and basically I'm afraid that I'll suck at mixing and mastering regardless. I don't even know how to use most of those tools properly. I do own ProQ2/3 and they are really nice but I also own all of the DDMF apps, most of the TB apps, and a plethora of others which seem to do a fine job of...whatever they do. Ugh, I hate this feeling. I don't even enjoy that part of the process. Hell, I can't even remember the last track I completed. Sometimes having the right tool makes all the difference, but sometimes all you need is to know how to use what you already have. Someone tell me why these are better than every other tool out there (which I probably already own), what they do that is unique, or just tell me I probably won't be able to tell the difference anyway and sound is all subjective...
Your anxiety is understandable: (close to) $100 is a relatively large investment in our world here however you'd be getting a Suite: Several toys / tools. Given the mentioned subjectiveness one thing you know is that the Fab bundle would be a Damn Fine Toolkit. An excellent one. And a cohesive one. And it doesn't matter how many tracks you've finished or your level of expertise at mixing / mastering as long as you Do desire to do all of the above in the future and in general. In this sense the Fab suite becomes tools for you to grow Into for years to come: learn their language, learn the technical sonics properties and level up your ability to sculpt sound.
All that said it's possible you already have what you need to hold you over and revisit buying this Fab Suite at a later date with some earned hindsight.
PS you're not alone in the app-GAS-stress, but isn't it a wonderful problem to have?
MiRack is also AB compatible.
????
Fwiw, AP is the product of a small independent developer. I think it is another one person business.
I bought:
Circle of fifths- have not touched it yet
Cyclop- So PHAT! Going through the presets this is a monster
Unique- have not opened it
And a Pipe organ that i do not remember the name of oh and.. midi tools
Poly2! Not on sale but it is awesome fun.
I got NS2, and the timing was perfect. Normally I use apps in the summer out and about, and I wasnt sure NS2 was something I really needed yet. So this was a good chance to give it a try and then I can go IAP later on if I get into it.
So far it's been promising, but I'm not sure an app this deep is what I need yet. Pretty easy to navigate, and it's got more features than I thought, in a good way. I always feel guilty like Garageband should be enough for me when I want to flesh out more complex arrangements in a song (compared to say Gadget or Groovebox). But the workflow is so different from other DAWs, and something like NS2 is more intuitive for me. Hopefully I can dive in deeper this Spring.
I just got NFM. I'm very pleased with how quickly I was able to get interesting sounds going, compared to other FM synths I’ve tried. I was so impressed, I went back and bought NPD too. (Haven’t tried it yet though.)
Yeah! The Minilogue has the most silky-smooth analog sound I ever played in person. Ironically I heard it gets dissed for not being gritty enough 😆
If you're unsure you can get equivalents from other devs: for example ToneBooster Barricade offers 90% of what FabFilter Pro-L can do. ToneBoosters Reverb has even more features then FabFilter Pro-R (and sounds just as good). Mani Consulting Gate could stand in for Pro G (and their compressor could do instead of Pro-C), and if you need a De-Esser then 4pockets or KlevGrand also do one.
The main reason to get the FabFilters is for the excellent UI, which is unsurpassed IMO.
NPD is really impressive as well. Stand out sounds. Hook up the Mozaic randomizer patch to it and you really start to hear some unusual starting points.
