  • So you can program and store templates for the XL from your iPad with this? How much is the IAP for that? It’s not listed on the App Store.

  • $12.99. Yes, to all questions. It's great.

  • Here’s the interface.

Well, I’m sold. It’s a shame companies don’t do this natively, but I’ll happily pay someone else for iOS support!

    Thanks @Liquidmantis

MS-C doesn’t have the greatest UI, but the editor is relatively intuitive.
Fetch reads the config from the associated User slot on the LCXL and loads it in the editor.
Send writes the current working config into the associated User slot.
The picker in the upper left corner lets you choose one of the 128 stored templates.
Store saves your current working config to that stored template (not to the LCXL).
Store To lets you copy the current working config to a different stored template slot.
Save lets you write out the working config to a file.
Load lets you load a saved file to the current working config.

Hopefully that makes sense. I’m still wrapping my head around MS-C so if anyone understands it better please correct me. There’s a manual linked from the app, too.

  • Hi - glad to see this is appreciated - any comments/suggestions please get in touch.

  • Wow, this is kind of huge. It’s unacceptable that so many MIDI controller manufacturers, especially those that target “mobile music making,” don’t have iOS editors for their products.

  • @leehu have you considered adding Launch Control support? It’s one of my favorite MIDI controllers but the Novation software for it is “ancient” and not available on iOS.

    Thanks!

@leehu The addition for LPX was huge and LCXL was even better, thanks for creating this. I'd love support for Zero Control MKII but seems like no one has it these days. Midi Fighter Twistor would be awesome too.

Hi - yes, I can look at adding support for this.

I'm doing some work for MFT for Live, probably end of Q1, Q2 this year, so can look into this then.

  • @leehu i just got a Summit and haven't tried yet, but do you know if the Peak template works for the Summit? If not, would it be an easy modification?

  • It’s not clear... is this app like midi designer pro, in that you can build your own stuff, or like patchbase where you have to wait for or hope your hardware is included? All the iap make me think it’s the latter...

Just started the trial for this; I’ve checked the manual but still can’t seem to fetch or send anything but preset 1? Am I missing something?

  • That’s a limit of the trial.

    Was hoping so, thanks.

Wow, that’s awesome news! If I recall you’re in England(?), otherwise I’d send you mine to use for development.

If I’m wrong about your location let me know. I’m in the United States.

No, it won't I'm afraid and it's quite a bit of work that I won't be able to do without a Summit and it's not a synth that I can afford :(

    I was afraid of that

Me either, really. My synth budget for 2020 is already blown. I just had been dreaming of a Peak for a while, then the Summit came out, and it's been my dream flagship poly since.

  • @leehu any chance we can get some batch, copy/paste, or apply to all settings? Using this for the LCXL and while I’m quite appreciative of the ability to finally do so via iOS, I’d love some improvements over the native editor. Mainly, the ability to select multiple or all knobs and apply one particular setting to all of those, or at the least an apply all settings like the Arturia editor allows via right click. Sometimes I want to try out similar multichannel templates in all 8 preset slots, but that can sometimes mean hundreds (if not thousands) of clicks which could be reduced to dozens. Things like incremental parameter changes, or copy/paste of settings, along with being able to apply a particular setting (like MIDI CH) to a whole template would allow for a whole new level of experimentation on setups that is currently prohibitive.

    THIS!

It is very time consuming not being able to do this. I literally just want every user bank to be a different channel with the same cc’s. It took me hours to do this. Then even longer to change each cc.

The way it works for arturia’s mini lab editor is perfect.

The current working editor is just a buffer. You can send it to any slot, make a couple of tweaks, and send to another slot. If you want to save the current config use Send To to copy it to a different preset.

  • I just took delivery of a LCXL and DAMN is this thing solid! Feels phenomenal!

I can’t wait to try it out with @leehu ’s editor.

  • edited January 2020

@leehu The LCXL editor is great! One thing is puzzling me, though: I’m able to use the LCXL in AUM without a hub, but MIDISynth won’t recognize it without a hub. Is this normal? Anyway is the hub absolutely necessary for some technical reason? Would be great to ditch it.

Yeah, I've got plans to do some of these updates - just finding the time at the moment - probably mid-end of jan.

Not quite sure what you mean here - can you send details through to support email and I'll take a look.

  • I can actually knock up the global MIDI settings and get it out to beta today - if anyone wants to join the beta to try this out then send me an email to the support address from the email you want registered.
