I’m having trouble in SynthMaster One latest version with the “instrument type” menu when in AU mode. I have to hit the category multiple times and sometimes I have to touch it under it(the next category) to get the one above. It’s like the touch sensitivity or whatever is off. Not a huge deal. Just providing feedback. Using as AU in BM3 with 12.9 ipad gen2. SyntMaster Player is another story. After the update the synth patch I was using as and au in a project sounds different. I figured I would just re-record it and it would be fixed. But when I try to replay it, it doesn’t sound like it did before. Not sure why. It’s like the pitch is off and I can’t fix it.

    Sorry!

@kv331audio_bulent : It appears that AUv3 crashes don’t generate crash analytics in the usual place.

I also find that it crashes in Audiobus 3 when you toggle between full screen mode (Audiobus’ default) to compact mode. I suspect that SM1 not drawing in BM3 is related.

Can you run Audiobus in an iOS emulator with the 9.7” screen size and try? Running iOS 12.3.1 if that makes a difference.

    Hi there

The instrument type control is buggy, I noticed it too, will be fixed in the next update

Thank you for your response. I love your apps! Now if I can just figure out why my SynthMaster Player app doesn’t sound right after the update I’ll be back in business!!

Unfortunately you can not run any DAW apps in the Simulator

SMP has a global Master Tuning setting under Menu that you could dial in for any pitch

Same issue in iPadOS 12.4.2 & 12.4.5 on a iPad Mini 2. (Not sure if it makes any difference, but the 2013 iPad Mini 2 & 2018 iPad 6th Gen have a 2048x1536 screen resolution. There's other iPad models with that resolution as well.)

Synthmaster One does seem to load for me in ios 12.2 on the mini2....

Are you able to grow the window in AUM to maximum size without crashing?

If you have Audiobus 3, can you try loading SM1 and toggle between full and halfpage views?

    All good, zero problems.

Also it does work for me in BM3 on ios 12.4.5

    This is pretty upsetting.

You should sync after faving any presets and also always sync just before deleting the app. Cloud sync works like a treat with just one tap and backing up our favorites is just a tap away!

The pre-update version had none of these problems. When I updated when the app first came out, it loaded fine everywhere except BeatMaker 3 unless trying to toggle between full and half-screen (in AUM or AB3). After deleting and reinstalling, the AU just crashes on load everywhere.

I realized that only after the fact. I didn't initially do cloud sync since I don't use SM1 on any other device (and with some other apps cloud sync is a source of problems).

The favorites thing is my fault -- I don't hold the dev responsible.

I wish I could get the synth working again as an AU.

I just checked the specs of iPad Mini 2: 1 GB RAM. I am not sure 1 GB system RAM would be sufficient to run the AUv3, since the OS allocates much less RAM for AUv3 plugins:

Guys, we have NO way of specifying device requirements on AppStore, unless writing in the product description. That's Apple's fault. A software has certain "minimum system requirements": CPU wise, RAM wise. CPU shouldn't be a problem, you can use less polyphony, but if there's not enough RAM, the plugin would not load. So it's possible that it might crash on iPhone 6/SE or iPad Mini2.

This seems to be an older thread and my understanding is that iOS updates may have increased Au memory limits on some devices but beats me how much and I would not be surprised if this is not well documented.

Yah, I would not expect to use Synthmaster One on an iPad mini 2 as an AU. Even though I have one and use it from time to time it is just my Nanostudio2 / Obsidian sketchpad.

  • @kv331audio_bulent : is there any information that I can provide to help you understand why the fresh install of Synthmaster one won't load as AU without crashing in any host.

This didn't start happening until I deleted and reinstalled. Before I deleted, th SM1 had been updated in the App Store from the previous generation.

This iPad gen 6 iOS 12,3,1

It appears that AU crashes don't generate analytics logs.

Synth was working fine before reinstall other than the crash when changing AU window size.

Now, it won't load as AU at all.
