If there’s a potential for reduced spread of this virus by wearing a mask, why not wear a mask?

Of course there are some people who cannot wear them due to medical reasons.

I’ve seen people on Twitter saying that wearing one infringes their civil liberties and describing them as a ‘muzzle’. I don’t understand these people. It’s a minor imposition when walking round an enclosed space like a train or a shop.

There’s science offering both opinions about efficacy. That’s science. If there’s a chance - why not just do it?

I’m trying to understand what the objections are to just wearing a mask.

If it’s about not complying to something a government or authority is mandating, why not start / stop doing other things that are mandated that are an inconvenience, like paying taxes?

What kind of ‘control’ does making people wear a mask actually exert?

I don’t have children but I have seen them completely lose their shit over pretty much nothing.

If adults can normalise the behaviour of wearing a mask, then surely most kids would not find it scary, or strange.

I just meant in general. ;)

    It is just mind-blowing.

Is there a Maga fan who will defend this? What will it take for the Trump acolyte to walk away?

There is no real evidence that masks protect against the virus. Especially the cloth masks people wear as the virus particles are so small they easily pass through. In the whole of Europe it has now virtually disappeared. But being mandated to wear masks and being told a vaccine is the only way back to normal should raise some questions.

Masks reduce spread of virus from infected people. They aren't intended as protection for the wearer.

If people reduce social distancing and don't wear masks , the number of infections will increase rapidly.

If the Orange man gets re-elected, 'Merica will have a Mussolini syndrome.

People like to say Dumbass Donnie is Hitler, but he's not that bright.

Donnie is the Mussolini to Putin's Hitler.

    "Just taking orders from headquarters!"

gee, if the orange man gets reelected America has Stockholm syndrome.

I'd argue that if the orange man wins again, then there's some massively shady shit going on. He's got his supporters but the longer this goes on the more the enthusiasm wanes. I'm a skeptic, but it's more clear by the day.

If he wins again he’s going to be insufferable for the next 4 years. I can’t imagine how much of a free rein he would give to his darkest desires knowing that he would be in his last term...
