    Context can help explain behavior:

For instance, one of the viral images most associated with the "creepy Uncle Joe" headline is this picture of Biden rubbing the shoulders of Stephanie Carter while her husband, Ashton Carter, was sworn in as secretary of defense. But as she explains in a recent Medium post after the picture started making the rounds again,it does not depict a #MeToo violation. Biden's contact with Carter was welcome and consensual.

Carter had slipped and fallen on some ice just before the ceremony, she writes, and the incident had left her shaken:

"By the time then–Vice President Biden had arrived, he could sense I was uncharacteristically nervous—and quickly gave me a hug. After the swearing in, as Ash was giving remarks, he leaned in to tell me "thank you for letting him do this" and kept his hands on my shoulders as a means of offering his support. But a still shot taken from a video — misleadingly extracted from what was a longer moment between close friends — sent out in a snarky tweet — came to be the lasting image of that day."

In that context, Biden's touching of Carter wasn't inappropriate. It wasn't inappropriate, because the sole person with the authority to judge that—Carter—says it wasn't.

Listen to the woman's testimony. Vote accordingly.

Trump ups the ante with innuendo about incest... he loves his daughter... really:

When asked what he and his daughter both consider their favorite things, Trump answered, “I was going to say sex, but I can relate to [golf and real estate].”

“Yeah, she’s really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father….”

“Is it wrong to be more sexually attracted to your own daughter than your wife?” (depends on the wife?)

“You know who’s one of the great beauties of the world, according to everybody? And I helped create her. Ivanka. My daughter, Ivanka. She’s 6 feet tall, she’s got the best body.”

And on under age girls at his "Miss Teen World" getting dressed:

“I’ll tell you the funniest thing. I’ll go backstage before a Miss Teen USA show, and everyone’s getting dressed and ready and everything and no men are anywhere. … You know, I’m inspecting. The girls (14-16) are standing there with no clothes on.”

    Creep: (noun) a detestable person.

After Micheal Cohen agreed to play off Stormy Daniels using his own money... Trump stiffed him on paying it back. He did agree to pay him monthly payments which is simply
putting him on retainer. Michael was not the best lawyer Trump could get but the most flexible on terms of payment and "coloring inside the lines".

  • See, this here is one of the biggest problems, the fact that money buys power and the electorate are manipulated to a far greater extent than they realise. Really hard to think of a way to deal with this, though, because even if direct advertising for presidential candidates was banned, they'd use black ops strategies, courting and bribing various 'influencers' for example.

What if he actually got a high percentage of black voters now. Just because of oppression? If its true they feel oppressed as a group and all they see is a planet covered in satelites beaming news from the same few people that control the system. Maybe they would see that as the authority and Trump as the oppressed? Thats assuming they are political enough to follow the news.

Have you seen how much money Obama has pocketed after leaving office?

It's mind boggling that Simon and Schuster and Netflix are just opening up the cash register and saying "Take what you want." Can you explain it? It's not ol' fashion "passing the plate". It's pay for play, right?

Sigma, are you suggesting Trump is an oppressed person?

Do you think it conceivable that a significant percentage of African Americans could be convinced that he isn't racist?

  • CNN, MSNBC, ABC, Washington Post and New York Times just announced they’re all in agreement. Biden has won the first presidential debate.

  • Excellent. That's the most watched, most important one.

  • I think Trump is rather capable enough on his own to whine about how the debate goes. He doesn’t need the media to weigh in. I understand Biden offered to take a drug test but Trump wouldn’t agree to a push up contest in return. So, we have to be content that he paid no taxes because either he is defrauding the IRS, or a terrible businessman.

They put a young "thug" (is that your safe word... it's a dog whistle) in a van and when they got to the station he was dead... just from the aggressive turns the driver made.

How 'bout that young "thug" (wearing a hoodie... big clue, right) that went out for some skittles and ended
up dead at the hand's of a neighborhood watch type that used the "stand your ground law" to justify shooting the kid because he couldn't overpower him. Not a cop just a "friend of cops".

Or the kid who's Mom drove him over state lines to "police" Milwaukee and he brough his own assault rifle and the local cops thanked him for his "service". He service'd 2 thugs to death.

Well... enough "make you feel warm all over stories". The system is NOT stacked against us. It's OUR system. It protects US... it's just not too friendly for "thugs". All Lives are not Equal.

They ran the numbers on reparations and it worked out to (conservatively) a $19T contribution to the US economy for "services" since 1619. We return that debt with our special version of services. You have the right to a state facility without parole. You have the right to try and make a living without any of the basic benefits most other kids get because they had a chance. You get to be a thug or play ball for our entertainment.

"Makes me so angry when they treat you like a human. Just pisses me off."

I'm NOT feeling' it Bro. Get over yourself and look around. Why do Palestinians blow shit up? Because nothing else works... the IRA used to be like that too. Take away all hope and be afraid what you get.

Hope and Change... it's all like a dream now.

  • It’s the scale of manipulation that is staggering and the fact it’s constant, not just in the run up to elections. Groups behind it, not only target their traditional foes, left, progressives, social justice movements, liberals and the like, they go after moderate conservatives and the decent side of libertarianism too.

It’s no coincidence for example, that the countries who have had their democracies hi-jacked by these reprobates, have also had some of the worse responses and highest casualties during this pandemic, thus lengthening how long it will be with us.

They hide behind religion, nationalism, politics and economics, but just come across like sadistic nihilists, who enjoy seeing people in pain, confused, angry, despondent and fearful for its own sake, then recruit em and weaponise them to continue the cycle.

  • I read an article with the producers of a new documentary called people you may know, which just bought home to me how callous these mofo’s are, few quotes underneath.

    https://www.dw.com/en/us-religious-data-platform-targets-mentally-ill-vulnerable-people/a-55062013

US: Religious data platform 'targets mentally ill, vulnerable people'

A new film reveals how Cambridge Analytica, collaborating with a software company, has created a platform for US churches that targets the poor, the addicted and the disabled — to radicalize them for far-right politics.

For their documentary People You May Know, Charles Kriel, special adviser to the UK Parliament on disinformation, and filmmaker Katharina Gellein traveled across the United States accompanied by a team of journalists and whistleblowers. Their film reveals the political connection between religious fundamentalists, oligarchs and Cambridge Analytica and its shell companies, which have fundamentally shifted the balance of politics in the United States.

    And what did you discover?

It turned out to be far-right-wing churches, conservative churches in the US. And they've built a platform that targets mentally ill or vulnerable people in order to draw them into church, to monetize them through donations. That's the short-term goal. To help them is the facade for it, but ultimately the aim is to convert them to the politics of the far right.

And we went to as many churches as we could. We spoke to as many people as we could. Charles looped in a senior academic from Melbourne and a professor of journalism at Columbia, and a whistleblower who used to work for SCL (Strategic Communication Laboratories Group), the parent company of Cambridge Analytica.

Can you tell me a bit more about that?

Charles Kriel: What initially happened is that a Koch brothers-funded charity commissioned Cambridge Analytica, along with a software company called Glue, to build a software platform that could be used by churches in order to target vulnerable people.

And these are people who are suffering from addiction, financial distress, who might be struggling with opioid dependence or they might be dealing with bipolar issues. And all of these options are available in the software that has been deployed to the churches. And once those people are identified, they can target them with social media. And once brought into the church, they can also be recruited into the politics of the far right.

Another aspect your film delves into is the issue of alleged attempts to rewrite the US Constitution.

Gellein: We found that the guy who commissioned Cambridge Analytica and also put money into Gloo, the software company, is a member of an organization called the Council for National Policy. And this is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization [a type of organization that is tax-exempt in the US], which means they are not meant to conduct politics or support a certain candidate or get involved in public politics really at all.

They've existed for about 40 years. Their aim was to rewrite the US Constitution by 2020. Now they're a little late, but if Trump wins another four years, they have a very real chance, because they have systematically, over the course of many years, worked to install a Republican legislature in many states. They have pushed out Democrats and pushed out moderate Republicans.

Kriel: There's a couple of different ways to try to reengineer the US Constitution. One is you can go state by state, amendment by amendment. That takes forever and nobody gets anywhere that way. Or what you can do instead is call a constitutional convention. And if two-thirds of the US state legislatures call for a constitutional convention, then one is held and there hasn't been one since the Bill of Rights.

@mister_rz Ha! No surprise to see that the Koch brothers have a hand in this. They also have an agenda to use spread of new age and Buddhist doctrines to their advantage - for example, promoting ideas like mindfulness in a way that serves their neoliberal agenda, subtly encouraging workers to blame their thinking patterns for their own unhappiness rather than the system. It’s pretty incredible how twisted things have gotten.

My god, never heard about that, there is nothing they won’t corrupt, reminds me of an episode of red dwarf called rimmerworld. I agree though, is surreal watching this all go down, one bright spot in all this, is at least music and sci-fi movies will get deeper, more expressive and thoughtful, like in the 70’s, might be time for me to watch the 70’s version of invasion of the body snatchers again.

papers for his crimes. The indictments are sealed but there's that little sliver in the timeline where he's
exposed. But the Chief Justice would have to ask for a drink of water... but "the courts are in on the fix".

If the numbers are solid at 12PM on Nov 3rd he's toast. But Plan B involves getting Electoral College
voters to vote against the popular vote. Plan B leads to total chaos. Mass tantrums and broken glass.

Trump loosing probably leads to militias taking action... who would they shoot at?

Covid-19 is getting ready to ramp up again. Just when you thought it was cool to eat out.

Imagine taking your 7 kids and going to the White House with an audience packed in (they were probably tested but those quick tests are not perfect you know). And you and your kids won't wear masks because
it looks weak. I think it makes you look like a really bad mom. Praise the Lord. I guess Christians abide in thee. Jesus saves.

Trump is an adderall hyped up joke. (sniff). He's going to collapse under all the stress pretty soon.
Biden can ride a bike. Trump can't walk down stairs without holding the rail. Mostly because he wears
pumps in his shows. That's why he tilts forward 12 degrees. He's a total fraud and doesn't take any care of himself. He eats fast food every day and uses Doctors that are fast and loose with the FX pad.

Anything he throws at his opponent is a preemptive attack and shows his use of projection. I expect he'll
try the pedophile line tonight. He claims to want drug testing... I'd frisk him for Stephen Miller's urine.
It's a circus with this guy... deny, deflect and deceive. He's running out of suckers to fleece. "Fool me once..."

But a cornered rat is dangerous... he'll burn down the whole fuckin' country if he needs the cover.
It won't get him the $500M he needs to pay his debts. Only Vlad has that kind of ready cash... he routes it through his army of oligarch minions. Trump was useful to block Hillary but the game is over. Biden is
not a female and his record doesn't have so many skeletons. Biden seems like the safe choice and people
would like a little safety after 4 years of chaos.

It won't end well for Dapper Don... how to sneak $500M out the back door without getting caught.

I think the loans are from Deutsche Bank which has a history of funneling money to the west to be laundered. The Arabs could step it up but I suspect they see the writing on the wall too. Jared had a $600MB debt that seems to have been "erased" to save him. Probably the Saudi's... and in return they gave him this "peace" deal with the Israeli's which is weird considering the Palestinians are the actual problem for the Israeli's.

  • @robertreynolds said:

    Some conspiracies are not theoretical.

Here's a little Trumpian beauty. He told his followers to vote twice. Once by mail and once in person.
Now he wants to insure that all the votes mailed in do NOT get counted but are tossed and he's putting out the big lie that foreign influencers are printing mail-in ballots.

He only needs a few percentage points shifted in a few states to have a chance and he's hedging his bets.

Then he is encouraging Republican statehouses to flip their electoral college representatives over to
vote in solid blocks for him with regard for how the voters voted since that process is "rigged".

Cornered rat... and his Attorney General is spouting the same messages about the chance of mail in votes to be "printed by the millions". There's a whole propaganda wing of the "State Media" that's reinforcing these themes so people like my sister are quaking in fear at the Socialists Invading the government and
making us all slaves to the state. I never would have believe the US could fall for such a looser but I underestimated their hatred of anyone that has liberal tendencies. They prefer an autocrat that brings them victories over the libs. And he's been cleaning their clock. But he destroyed the Republican top dawgs to get the nomination: deny, deflect and deceive works wonders when people want changes and a
strong man to get them fast.

The press fucked it up because Trump meant ratings/sales and ratings/sales are king for media.

Everett is a long standing member of People of Praise, apparently. An organization that puts men in charge and women submissive breeders. It is required eventually to actually sign a covenant that requires obedience to male leaders. I’m sure the Dems will explore this to the and rightly so. Trump can never get it right. He could have picked the a Cuban and clinched Florida. Thank the stars he is so transparent and unfit for the subtleties of political machinations. It’s our only hope. But like Covid, chances are the next autocratic pestilence will be more virulent. The cult is not going away even if he is defeated.
