Will need to test out the 48k fix.
Quite impressive! @analog_matt
Wow!
Gosh, it's impressive to see that kind of support. Thank you. We're definitely working to improve all those apps right now.
Currently, we're also helping Professors at a prominent Black college in America (Alma Mater of Martin Luther King, Jr) make their first music app. @danielfromcodalabs even volunteered to make their icon for them. It's a great sounding app, can't wait for all of you to hear it!
Sounds awesome! Proceeds going to a charity?
Awesome news @analog_matt
@danielfromcodalabs
Could you give me an hint how that works? I don’t get it to work the way I thought it would?!? Thanks Daniel
There's absolutely going to be both a financial charity component, plus open-source code released 👍
Boss!
Wow, is Audiokit 808 now the most expensive iOS music app £499.99 ;-)
@analog_matt
Nah there’s a piano tuner... I believe it’s called Cyber Piano Tuner it’s $999.99
Oh wow. I think it is the highest paid app now.
I’d buy a real 808 at that price.
@analog_matt When will D1 get the improved AUv3 framework? Currently it’s barely usable
In a few months iOS/iPadOS14 will be released too so I do hope you’re all prepared
On Monday we’ll know more when WWDC’20 kicks off...
...
The price has dropped from 999,99$ to 3,99$. Good news for those who wanted to buy it, but didn't, now they can do it in standard price. Worse news for those who bought it previously counting that they will be the only ones who will have an app due to the forever maximum price in appstore in the future, because now it has changed.
Dear Matt. I thougt it will be like with your Jupiter example: "For example, only 3000 people had a Jupiter 8 back in the day." But now I read on reddit "We'll be making each of the limited edition apps available again for short periods of time for those who missed them". Generally that kind of approach is good for users and developers, both side wins. But in this case it misses yours original goal, which was to reach the max. 999,99$ after some time and remain so forever. Available app again in start price destroys the concept of this whole project with droping 10 unique apps, because on sale everyone can buy it and users do not feel like Jupiter 8 owners anymore.
Please don't get me wrong. I have all AudioKit apps, I like it and I like app sale as well
I am just confused. Each another app have sale time in AppStore too, so what is different in that case? Do I miss something?
all these apps but i just want ak synth one to be an audio unit finally!
Agree
We’re talking peanut pocket change here but this marketing is nuts! 🤪
.
At least no-one’s getting taxed for their 808 Bass now... 🤣
"limited edition app drops” is about uniqueness, this is how the project was presented and I am not alone who take it that way. I missed short period of time and bought Bass 808 Synth yesterday after discount 1000 -> 4, so I have not lost my uniqueness, but others who bought it previously probably do. I know I'm looking for a hole in the whole, but or these are limited editon, or not
I want the next iteration
I wonder, will anyone be rushing to buy the next 'limited edition' app drop?
Please stop the marketing games and just release stable, well-built apps at a steady price. There is a good team of Devs here... hidden behind a giant wall of PR and spin.
Otherwise Audiokit are in danger of making their customers/users feel played.
#BeMoreBram
The apps are pretty cool and I like the sounds and I’m fine with the marketing tactic. I’ll likely buy the next limited app because I like what they’re doing. And how they sound.
+1
At the price point they charge I’m not mad at them re-releasing them occasionally, Hipstamatic does a similar thing with its IAP’s.
I paid $1000 for my copy.
So my copy is better than that cheap $4 knock-off.
Obviously.
🤣
I'm a big fan of audiokit and always ready to support but I gotta agree here. The marketing game is a little too much!
I'm soooo puzzled as to why anyone cares. Not saying people shouldn't, just genuinely can't get my head around it. What they charge for this app just is nowhere remotely close to anything I can imagine caring about. Must just be me.
