@AudioGus I can reproduce that if I follow your exact steps.
Wondering why you created an audio track though?
If you make a new MIDI track things work as expected.
Hi @AudioGus,
Something seems to be wrong with your Cubasis version.
In the clip, you've tried to load an AU instrument to an audio track (which should not work at all, since it has to go to a MIDI track)!
Please try these steps:
(1) Shut down Cubasis 3
(2) Open the iPad settings
(3) Scroll down to the "Cubasis 3" app icon, and select it
(4) Enable "Load empty project on next app launch"
Once done:
Hope that helps!
Lars
Hi @Lars,
congratulations for the release of the LE version as you promised in December, and so the in-app transfer facility. It’s always a great sign of respect towards the customers when promises become actually reality.
In the meantime CB3 is grown and some annoying bugs were fixed.
As owner of all the LE 2 in-apps I’m glad to have now the possibility to transfer them to the full version, and the current sale gave me the final push, so I bought that, instead of upgrading to another LE version, even to thank you for your efforts and the kind support to us on the AB forum.
All the best and stay safe.
Thanks @Faland, greatly appreciated!
Stay well and safe, too!
Best,
Lars
@LFS I am able to reproduce this bug.
Even after your suggested steps, I'm still able to attempt loading an instrument on an audio track.
Should easily work as expected, when assigning AUs to a MIDI track!
Ahh, yes creating on an audio track is the issue. Perhaps if you are on the wrong track type it should just create a new appropriate track type like it does when there are no tracks present.
I guess I thought the track type shoudlnt matter in the same way you can load an AU instrument without there even being a track in the project. Creating a new audio track is just a muscle habit for me.
Is anyone else having issues with using an external keyboard?
I'm unable to type anything using Apple's Smart Keyboard with my iPad 10.5".
Known issue?
Unsupported as of yet!
Maybe there could be a popup that says ‘AU instruments can only be loaded to Midi tracks’. I mean given that you can add AU instruments when there are no tracks present at all it seems like something should be done (either it simply creates a new MIDI track or it tells you ‘Wrong track type’. i thinks newbs and old senile types like myself would benefit from.... something happening.
This is a simple bug, it should not be possible to load AU instruments to an audio track.
Best,
Lars
Gotcha. Yah I just tried it in Cubasis 2 and it does create a new midi track if you have an audio track selected when loading an AU instrument. Glad I am not getting as senile as I thought!
@LFS
Edited my previous post on the last page with the bug report and pasting the bug report here...
Summary/Title
AU instrument fails to load when an audio track is selected
Description
AU instrument fails to load when an audio track is selected
Expected Results
Select an audio track. Add an AU instrument. A new midi track with the AU instrument should be created (as is the case in Cubasis 2).
Actual Results
A new track with an AU instrument is not created. It simply sits there.
Environment
Cubasis 3.0.2, Ipad Pro 10.5 (2017), iOS 13.4, any AU instrument
Is anyone getting IAA’s to work at all on an audio track in 3.0.2 ?
This works perfect in 2.8.3... but does not work at all in 3.0.2 (did not work in 3.0.1 either)!
No sound when playing the IAA keyboard, and when hitting the record button on the little transport control bar, the whole control bar disappears, never to return. Nothing gets recorded.
IAA works on a MIDI track, but only with the built in Cubasis keyboard... and once again the control bar disappears.
In 2.8.3, IAA works great on MIDI tracks WITH the IAA keyboard...and the control bar works as it should. (And once again, works perfect with audio tracks).
Cubasis 2.8.3
Cubasis 3.0.2
iPad 6th Gen 128g
iOS 13.4
Hi @Aph,
Please provide us with more details of the same case:
Which IAA instrument does work in Cubasis 2, but fails with Cubasis 3?
Background audio enabled in CB 3?
So far, we are unaware of issues here!
Thanks,
Lars
Guys i have PSP synth in a track for my acoustic player isnplayimg in F#.
How can i transpose my incoming midi keyboard to PSP so i can play it in key of C which is easier for me on the keyboard. Thanks guys! Can’t figure it out.❤️
Check if the background audio is off. Must be on to get any sound from IAA apps.
Anyone tried recording Audio? Doesn’t seem to do anything on an Air 3..
edit - school boy error, works fine, was trying to recording audio to a midi track I think.
Thank you Lars and Faland. Background audio was off! Though I know it was on when I first downloaded the app this morning. I assume there is no way an old Project file could change this (I went through a lot of them testing 3.0.2 out)... since this is a global setting?
Anyway, turned Background Audio on and it works like Cubasis 2.
Thanks!
@LFS hi Lars, just wanted to thank you for a great update- been working without a hitch for me so far today.
@Lars i don’t think its a bug.
Basically when you create a track (audio or midi)
Then open media, if you tap on instruments section in the media bay, it will show you your instruments ( built in and AUv3) just like its hows you your midi and audio files..
Hi, a bit off topic.... I can't login to the Steinberg Forum because of a problem and I can't send a direct message to the Admins because I am not logged in to the forum.
Can someone share an email address for the Steinberg forum so I can get some assistance with the login problem?
Thanks in advance.

Just got Cubasis 3 and phone asked if i wanted to download now or when on wifi, purchase price deducted from my itunes cash balance but now inwanna download and wants to charge me again! What’s this?
Never mimd just showed up on my purchased list🤪☺️❤️
Damn, I literally just bought the regular version and I have an interface on the list
Hopefully Apple will aprove a refund and I’ll rebuy in LE 3. Once you unlock LE with a supported device, does it stay that way or do you have to periodically reauthorize it?
I would really love to see an option to tune the samples in the Classic Machines...
And well, a ‘Modern Machine’ that allows user import of samples wih performance parameters, reverse, filter etc.
Been working all night with the 3.02. It still has terrible issues, mainly with 3rd party apps.
Au: Eg Pulse fails to produce different instances with different sounds. Same thing with Roli noise. If you have created several tracks with different instances, the now all play the same sound.
Fails to load following plugins from existing projects: digital D1, FM Player 2, ravenscroft, Factory, eg pulse, model one.
You have to load another app, and then load your original app again, but the sound selection is lost.
Crashes a lot.
The above are all issues with existing projects.
The small Cubasis shortcut (upper left corner) causes the apps (Also other apps than animoog) to freeze, or stop producing sound. Several other issues with animoog, f.ex. No tempo sync. Animoog is basically unusable with Cubasis 3.02. Worked fine in Cubasis 2.8 .
