Likewise I avoid subscriptions models like the plague, if it was a standard paid app I would defo be into it.
This looks fun, but can someone please clarify: is there a way to use this product indefinitely without ever subscribing?
If so, what elements are reserved for subscribers? The OP's sentence about a "trial period" is unclear.
I'm with the majority here... no iOS music app subscriptions for me. I already have many, many ways to make music that don't require an endlesss subscription fee.
No sub or me either.
It’s free forever for most of the app, just a couple of features like the sampler and infinite cloud saves, I think there’s more content down the line but it’s great as it is, everyone should at least try it.
If the mechanism wasn’t ‘subscription’ but an opt-in non-regular ‘contribution’ somehow (probably off-system, not via Apple) I’d suspect a warmer embrace from many.
I wanted to ask, I’m thinking I’d recommending it to my sister in law for my niece who’s ten or eleven, can’t remember eek, but just getting into music making, is it any good for kids / are there account restrictions for chat etc? I presume that a private room where I could restrict access to her and people we know might be a premium feature?
@timexile @lukesleepwalker
There’s a kinder chaos jam @Krupa
Thought my four year old niece was the youngest person on Endlesss until I discovered that one on discord.
Congrats on the release
Anyone know how to change the octave on the “notes” instrument?
Ah cool, I’ll check it out, thanks bluegreen
@pete12000 - not a complete answer, but one of the first limitations I encountered was on setting loop length. This may be a pretty big limitation for some because the app encourages you to noodle then stop when you like the last couple of bits you just played. Sort of like Ableton Take. Personally I'd find the app annoying if I didn't have the premium looping feature.
You can create your own jam and invite her in? Obviously she could still wander over to the open jams but if you could keep her on "My Jams" then it could work?
The loop length limit is the same on free and infinite.
I can imagine having infinite loops could lead to jams getting out of hand with data but it would be good to have a few more bars.
If the beta version is an indicator, there’s going to be a lot of additional features on the horizon.
Cool, thanks, I’ll talk it over with her mum and see what they think, can’t keep them wrapped in wool forever but I know they’re not as au fait with Internet stuff as many.
I think it’s probably worth the risk. I just let my six year old play with it and she made something better than I’ve ever made with hundreds of pounds worth of DAWs and AUv3s. I’m installing it for my 11 year old now too.
So much awesome in this!

@timexile ,
Here’s my “free” advice/idea for a revenue model...
Make jams have a “cover charge”...
So some jam rooms are free and are a free for all, thus of questionable quality... Some jams have good musicians or are limited to x users and cost $y to join
Soooo you all make some money, and the users buy the ticket and take the ride they want.
Wanna jam with Gaz? That’s will be $100 million dollars!
Spent 20 minutes jamming with my 11 year old and she has fallen in love with the app too. This might completely change the way I approach making music.
Imagine a future where this can host AUv3 instruments and effects. I wonder if it supports the headphone splitters that you use with Djay 🤔
The vast majority of ‘famous’ users aren’t using their real names @MonkeyDrummer
You never know who you might be jamming with!
I like this idea, too. Am I the only one who's gonna complain about lack of landscape support?
Literally been on this all day.. it’s totally brilliant.
Are jams automatically posted?
Not sure what you mean. So, a "jam" is a room where users gather to develop "rifffs". The "rifffs" are all captured every time you hit the waveform and commit the loop/rifff/magic to the cloud. You can delete the rifff later if you want (you click on the little arrow to the right of the rifff line-up above the wave-form) but, in practice, very few Endlesssers do so. It's all about the flow and there's no judging if you mess something up or get something you aren't happy with. Just keep jamming and committing new rifffs until you get there. (Or, very often, someone else will pick up your "mistake" and take it in a new direction, which is equally cool!)
YEAAH!
Huge props to @timexile for doing hours of back to back jams live on Twitch today. Only managed to catch bits here and there, but Tim’s obvious joy right through to the end was impressive. The jam with KiNK was amazing.
I had the honor of being there when he jumped in on the AB forum jam. Kinda cheating, having made the app, but yah he kicked our asses.
BTW, bonus points for my beta jams staying intact at launch!
@lukesleepwalker - I created a jam with a half dozen riffs while playing solo and can't tell if others can see it or not. I’d welcome others jumping in.
I think only people you invite can see them.
yep, exactly. If you share the link to the jam with someone else and they join the jam, they'll be able to see your rifffs.
