Just to check if I understood correctly. Sorry for the stupid question.

I have synth master player and one for iOS. For the player I’ve already bought all expansions and for synth master one I wanted to buy the latest iap expansion.

I have the coupon you kindly sent me.

To have the preset I will buy on your store also in iOS do have i to download synthmaster one for Mac, register it, log in in your site and then buy it and after that click on iOS app download desktop expansion?

    Is it right?

    Thanks so much.

I used my code to get a SynthMaster One preset pack but couldn’t download it onto my iPad, I think it’s because you need the desktop version to get the serial number. I think with all the different answers on here it all got a bit confusing

    +1

    Yup.
This is the best straight answer so far.

Did you use the code within the desktop program as
there doesn't seem to be online accounts for iOS users.

+1 as well. Im just wondering how much of this confusion and complication is because of Apple!

    Quite possibly.

I think developers have to have two IAP
purchase systems for this system to work.
One for desktops and one for iOS.

The coupons seem to be non transferable between desktop systems and iOS.

I think that's where the confusion comes from.

I think if you already own the desktop then the presets can transferred across
which doesn't require payment only the same email address.

I wish they'd never sent the bloody coupon in the first place LOL! but after watching the sound test room demoing the new IAP natlife true trance sounds I thought that would be a cool pack to own. I don't mind paying £30 for both one and player and it doesn't bother me that they have put both as free downloads but surely they should be trying to help those of us who paid full price get something out of it. Sending me a coupon for $9 and finding out you can't use it is a bit of a kick in the balls.

    Yeah, I hear you.

I've been beta testing it hence why I've been trying
to figure out how the online shop and IAP's work.

If I'm going to recommend it then I need to know
what I'm talking about including it's pitfalls.

It's a great sounding synth I must say.
It was starting to become one of my go to synths then Drambo
came along and I've been Drambo'ing, if I can say such a thing,
    ever since.

I'm starting to come up for air now so all is good.

    Apologies for the tangent.

As you've paid full price for both apps and you've received the
coupons which you can't use I agree it must feel like a kick in the sphericals
especially as it states that we can redeem them in their store which
iOS users have no access to except for the ,'store', inside the apps
    themselves.

On my version of SynthMaster One I keep on being
redirected back to SynthMaster Player on the AppStore.

If they were to sort out a clear system regarding the online
store then they're onto a winner with all of the presets.

As it stands, it's a great synth to play around with but
one can get annoyed with the online store system.

One loses the joy of playing with the synth because of it.

I totally agree 100%. It takes the shine off a truly inspirational app.

  • Well I said my comment about the two apps sharing the same presets half tongue in cheek but the store on One can actually totally make one think that.

You can buy preset packs found in the SynthMaster Player app in the SyhthMaster One store yet you can’t play those presets WITHIN SMOne...

I eventually bought a couple SM Player packs on the website and since they give you SynthMaster Player for desktop for free when you purchase a preset pack I put THAT serial number into the iOS Player app account login and Voila’ the packs I bought were highlighted in green and ready to download.

I know it’s a bit convoluted to the uninitiated, just the thing with both apps being called SynthMaster with the reason for the designation of Player & One not obvious to people new to iOS synths. But come on, the presets are unreal, on both apps. I bought the Synth Giants stuff, already had the three 2.x version presets and got the EDM bundle because it was like 400 presets. And so many are just killer.

Both SynthMaster apps are essential, even with the learning curve, etc. really cool...

  • @JRSIV

I prefer the more direct route.

If the app has IAP's then that's where they should be not,
'oh!! I've got to buy the other synth then get a preset pack then
get the desktop program to then open an account to see a purchase
and then get the synth that I needed in the first place to download the preset pack.'
    or something like that.

    It's counter intuitive.
By the time I've done all that I've already lost
interest regardless of amazing presets or not.

If someone were new to iOS they wouldn't have a clue what to do.

Since there's an active SynthMaster One thread, can I once again plead for the Devs to fix the broken preset management system? I've bought Synthmaster One on both iOS and Desktop and overall, this is my favourite synth on iOS in terms of sounds and versatility but I don't use it because I can't organise my presets!

It's so broken it's hard to know where to start but here's a simple example of trying to change the Author for a patch using the Attributes tab (as previously advised on this forum) but it just doesn't work.

I created a video showing the steps but can't upload an MP4 here. So briefly

    (1) Take an existing user-created patch with the default Author
    (2) Go to the Attributes Tab
    (3) Backspace to remove existing author
    (4) Type in the new Author
    (5) Click Save Preset and say Yes when asked whether you want to overwrite
    (6) Author Information has changed in the tab. Looks like it's worked then!
    (7) BUT click on a different preset and then back to the one you've edited.

The preset Author has now reverted back to whatever it was before you edited it and is not there in the list if you select the Author you changed it to.

Similar problems occur when you try and change the Bank via the Attributes too (and changing Bank in the Save Preset dialogue doesn't work properly either). Suspect it's some kind of indexing problem but whatever it is, it breaks Preset Management completely which makes the Synth unusable for those of us who want to create and organise our own preset libraries.

I'd **love **to buy the new IAPs but it's pretty pointless unless preset management works properly.

    Can you help @kv331audio_bulent?

This also sums it up for me. I don't blame the devs but obviously trying to make a an app with parity across iOS and desktop versions isn't ideal and most of it is Apple's business practices. But on the other hand I am using Zenbeats which has a similar model of having the same app on several platforms and IAP system seems to be smooth. I think the mistake is Synthmaster should just give away expansion pack as free through the IAP instead of using a coupon where there is no way for iOS users to actually use.

Now I've wasted too many hours of my time to figure out how to get a free expansion pack that I wouldn't even have considered if I had to pay for it.

With that said I've moved on and working on two tracks that both have multiple instances of Synthmaster because it sure does sound good. My biggest frustration is that I mostly use presets and I didn't know there was a free player option available instead of buying the full app. But , I've also spent more on various apps that I don't use at all so I'll get over it

  • @kv331audio_bulent can’t buy IAP in synthmaster one. Want to get bigtone but when I click buy it doesn’t prompt me to IAP purchase.

If the buy button is disabled, that indicates a network issue, i.e. product information could not be retrieved from AppStore.

Sorry about the confusion, I just fixed the issue with entering desktop serial number. Sorry about this guys, not required now in the next version. But for security purposes, we're emailing you serial number for SynthMaster iOS during registration, that needs to be entered to be able to download preset banks purchased from our website.

Once we implement username/password mechanism, we won't need the serial numbers at all (but then reminders would be needed for password similarly)

  • v1.3.10 is now uploaded, waiting for Apple's review.

    We have 2 bug fixes:

    1. Users are not required to enter SynthMaster One desktop serial number anymore to download SynthMaster One desktop preset banks
    2. When a preset is saved, the changes in preset author/bank/company names are not persisted correctly.

This is great news! Does it now mean we who only use synthmaster one/player on IOS can now use our coupons to purchase the two new IAP's Natlife true trance sounds & Bigtone club construction?

    Thanks

through your shop using the coupon You kindly sent me.
I have it in my presets list but when i clicked restore iap in synthmaster one for ios the preset I've bought does not restore.

    Could You help me?

  • Update Live..

  • Never mind. I had to press restore desktop expansions from the main menu. My fault.

  • Just as a little feedback, updated and used my Serial to download the whole desktop glory. No issues whatsoever! Worked like a charm! Thanks! This is a powerhouse of a synth!!!

    How about SynthMaster 2 :)

I am currently working on our SynthMaster 2.9.9 update (desktop) and once I am done with it, we will be able to release SynthMaster 2 on iOS easily
