If you compair Logic Pro X on Mac to Auria Pro on iPad, what’s missing in Auria then?
Auria Pro really have a lot of functionality missing in all other “DAWs” on iPad, so, we can already make big things on iPad environment...
Perhaps Mr Rim could sell his app Auria Pro to Apple for further developing, because it seems to be an evening and weekend job nowadays for him (have another dayjob according to rumours)...
Auria Pro is really powerful, although we miss some small improvements here and there...
Mmhh, longer ago since i used Auria so maybe things changed but first Logic has much better content included and also some very unique i cannot buy elsewhere but in terms of DAW features i do not know if Auria offers things like Logic stacked tracks f.e. where i can use layers of synths and FX can save that as patch, copy it and so on.
Drop and drag everywhere, midi FX which can modulate any automation parameter of any plug-in with a simple learn click. Of course there are 1000 advanced features more but those "standard" i need and use daily.
But there are some iOS apps like NanoStudio 2 which has a really great group/layers feature. In NS2 it works almost as in Bitwig. So you could stack tracks into groups and put groups into another layer and so on. But here the save, copy, paste of such multi set-ups are missing.
Beside that there are more advanced midi features missing.
Auria Pro might be the best in terms of full features desktop like DAW but for me it also shows how user unfriendly it is on a multi-touch screen and so Logic also would need a special multi-touch GUI of course.
Of course a lot iOS DAWs already offer all a lot people might need so if you are happy right now there is no point to wait for anything of course.
NS2 is still my first choice on iOS and if audio tracks would be added i would use it a lot more. But the progress on this is very slow and as much as i like all the independent developers on iOS i doubt anyone could compete with a Logic on iOS, also in terms of anticipated updates, content, new features and so on.
Also when i prefer a crossplatform workflow there is not so much choice right now.
Well Auria Pro is a great app and quite complete. But yeah when it comes to instruments, synths and fx it’s rather equipped with the basics. Logic is pretty much usable without any third party instruments and plugins.
Also Aurias midi interface doesn’t feel as smooth to me as the one in GarageBand or NS2. I’m not sure how much audio processing you can do in Auria but in logic you can change tempo, pitch and timing of audio.
I think Auria is a great DAW when it comes to tracking and mixing big audio sessions with third party AUv3s. But in Logic you pretty much can do anything from composing so mastering with stock plugins and fx only. A powerful midi engine, great sounding instruments, great audio editing all in one app. That combined with some third party AUv3s will be a very strong toolset.
Auria Pro seems like a very accomplished DAW! On paper seems near perfect. I will look at reviews and youtube videos. There is something about Garageband though. Very smooth and stable. Does Auria Pro feel the same as garageband on ipad? I would still like to see garageband developed little further with a mixer and masterbus etc. It’s been awhile now since a feature rich update...same with Logic. Something will happen soon. This year i think. Ipad is amazing actually.
I have a MBP from 2009. Using Logic but can’t update anymore. I am waiting to see what will happen in the music front on Macs and Ipads. The whole ARM rumour thing. I am going to see what happens this year with Logic and Garageband on ios. I may go ipad pro only if garageband gets updated. Come on Apple.
Careful with that statement- next time Apple has courage they may decide that you don’t need sound at all.

That depends on what you mean. If you are happy with Auria Pros feature set and don’t need much more to get your music made then that’s great.
But what’s missing? So, so much. Auria pro can’t even scratch the surface of Logics frankly overwhelming and bloated feature set.
There are many simple things that you can do easily in Logic such as record audio and MIDI in cycle mode (and comp those takes easily) that you can’t in AP and then there are the esoteric, legacy features such as being able to sync to 24 track tape via SMPTE and control the tape machine via MMC commands.
Not many people using an iPad if any will ever need that, but Logic can do it. Along with Gazzillions of other features big and small.
I could list some things... I could list a lot of things.
The most important thing is to be happy with the tools you use.
Logic is very capable but clearly not everybody's cup of tea. Some people swear by Live others love NS2. Not everybody needs or wants all the features and complexity that comes with logic. It’s fair to say some people hate Logic’s workflow and UI.
There’s no right or wrong, just the best tool for your particular job. But don’t think AP can compare to Logic in a features or usability contest.
It doesn’t come close.
Oh and if Logic does come to iOS, there’s no chance that it will compare to the features in the current version of Logic for Mac either.
Many of the features are legacy tools and many others are just plain impractical on iOS. Logic is a huge, sprawling, bloated app full of legacy features that wouldn’t make the cut if it were written from scratch today. Like the environment page for example which was a major part of the original app.
Edit: just for context, I’ve just spent the day looking after the kids and making a song on my iPhone with NanoStudio 2. I had a blast and quite like the tune too.
I don’t always want or need all of Logic’s features. Certainly not sat in the garden trying to avoid being soaked by the kids water pistols. :-)

To be honest - i wanted to do stem mastering (it's proces in between mix and mastering - you basically export project into 3 or 4 group tracks - kick, rest of drums, bass and synths in ny case - and then you use it to make final mix/master)
Initially i wanted to do it in Auria, but after few hours of frustration and swearing (mostly because of clunky unresponsible UI and too small UI elements) i gave up and made it on my macbook in Logic. Auria is for me definitely daw with worst UI on iOS.

Maybe this is where the Apple pencil will step in. More sales for Apple. I actually like to do things with the pencil.

Logic Pro X is not perfect, ESX24 is buggy/glitchy especially when editing region start/end of samples, the sample-view is not in sync with the sample that is actually played (Ie. region view is not updated when keys are triggered. (ie. I hope ESX24 gets updated or replaced as Alchemy is not a viable replacement sampler).
But most of all I'm looking forward the next Logic Pro X update...
(it could be a 'universal' thing as it is nowadays possible to create an app that is fully universal ie. macOS and iOS/iPadOS).

I don’t think it is looking closer at their website it mentioned as a touchscreen laptop, so probably not Koshi. I looks like it’s just for preset packs for Bollywood.
I’m sure it’s some kind of iPad as external display for Mac type of thing. I doubt that apple would bring Mainstage to iPad with such tiny playable keyboard 😄

Yeah, maybe you’re 100% right here, but, in the end (as you said), every user has it’s own demand in every ”DAW”...
Auria Pro can be annoying sometimes, but, no other DAW-like app on iOS/iPadOS has all the features that Auria Pro has...
And, we are a lot of users that has put some money in this app concerning IAP (especially those from Fabfilter company), so we likely wants further development of Auria Pro...
Yesterday I played around one hour in Auria Pro with a mouse, external keyboard and an external monitor (25” 4K), just to see how it act like a desktop app... Much more useful that with fingers ;-)
