  • BeatHawk has one of the best pattern to song workflows.

  • Could signal a major update?

Agreed, and I know they want to sell their iap’s but if you could load audio unit instruments onto pad it would easily be in my top 5. I’m not really using it much these days but my favorite thing about it was the song arranger

  • How do access the iap store?

Hit the 'Browser' button, midway on the right hand side of the main page, banks and stuff are all on the left side of the next page...

  • Are there any IAPs worth buying now that are on sale?

  • For free this is a no-brainer.
IMO some of the best sounds on iOS. Have only ever used it as a sound module type thing. Particularly like its string and woodwind sounds and the acoustic piano, I’m told, is superb (have never used it as I use RC275).

    Thank you

My pleasure. Stay warm up there.

  • Anyone else seeing the "Woodwinds" pack description in place of the one for "Drum Machine Classics"?

Annoying, as I’d like to know specifically which machines are included in the drum pack.

    Nope...
    Here it shows alright...
    Drumulator, Drumtraks, DMX, LinnDrums, TR-606, TR-707, CR-78, RX5, RZ1 and R100.

  • This reminds me I bought it ages ago and completely forgot about it.

    I’ve never used it.

It’s almost like I’ll be getting for free I suppose :-)

  • Doug has demo'd a couple dozen packs on The Sound Test Room. Choirs, brass, orchestra...

    Acoustic Grand is essential.

I think BeatHawks soundpacks is amazing...
Really high quality and really good price point...

  • MPC style workflow never did it for me. But at the free price I think I can give it a look.

  • i don’t even see a store in this thing

    Hit Browser in Track mode.

Anybody had the issue when a purchased IAP does not download, just sits as “queued”?
Been like that for months for the ‘edm drum designer pack’. Guess I should try a full reinstall sometime.

Edit after I bought a couple new IAPs it just magically decided to download!

Only have a few IAPs left to purchase and the money goes to a good cause, might as well get the rest!

  • I dismissed Beathawk early, but I knew @JohnnyGoodyear was a stalwart fan, so I tried to get into it. And then it went AU and I was like, huh, how would that work?

Well, I still don't know the full potential, but it's so easy to drop a Beathawk AU in an AUM session and use any of its excellent instruments (or loops) and even its sequencer. It's quite amazing. (Although its internal structure is still a little mysterious to me.)

Anyway, a belated thanks to Dr. Goodyear. And now that UVI/Beathawk are donating ALL proceeds from this sale to Food Bank NYC, I think I just might buy the lot.

Glad you're getting stuff out of it. Truth is I haven't even tried the AU yet (in AUM or anywhere else), but I still find the sounds great and it's still the easiest thing to get something going I know of. Especially once they added the piano roll (to correct the bish ups).

As for the donations: Class thing right there.

  • I luv Beathawk easily my go to right now then slip it into garageband and exporting midi is awesome to once you get your drums down.

Only thing I hate is the red color lines in the piano roll

I was hoping one day they would drum in there drum synth and anyone one of the synths they make as part of Beathawk package and also load au’s up. Let Beathawk be a daw it’s powerful enough. Add a mixer and a better sampler and it’s off to the races for me!

  • And to mention it’s probably the most stable platform out right now

  • Grab BeatHawk!. Tops for acoustic packs. Best vibraphone on the iOS block (Mallets). Great double bass in String Ensembles. Excellent guitar and harpsichord (Baroque) Choirs also top notch.
Less glitchy than iSymphonic for multiple instances.

  • This needs AU multi-out.
It will become a one instance AU for me if it gets it, which seems way more clean and efficient

The vibes do sound good but they’re all drenched in reverb which is a major letdown. There are better vibes out there for free as soundfonts.

  • @TimRussell, you are right about the reverb on the vibes. Even reducing reverb in effects to zero still leaves plenty. Could you post a sample of a sound font vibraphone? I fon’t use them but it might be time to learn how to.

  • I've had BeatHawk for years, but never really got into it.

I purchased Funk Drummer last night, and while I like the rhythms, I'm not a big fan of the kit.

Is it possible to run midi from Funk into BeatHawk (or another drum machine and use their kits?)

Or is it possibly to just export a midi file from Funk to mutilate as I choose???

  • what is uvitouch?

Bruuuuh you just rocked my world. What a beast that would be. 16 part multitimbral in one AU with each out to another effect???
