The onboard keyboard in pitch mode can be transposed up & down to access all the sounds...
I asked UVI about multi-out on Twitter and they responded: "Hi - this is already possible, but only by playing back the sequence saved in your project (not manually playing the pads)
" Can anyone confirm and elaborate?
Maybe they are talking about multiple MIDI out. I confirm that the “real” sound multi-out feature is not implemented
I think they refer to multi channel midi-channel output during playback (ie. each pad transmits on it's own channel).
Meaning you can not send to the external midi channels using pads or keys but the sequenced data gets sent...
(This makes it wonky to edit patterns since one doesn't get any audible feedback when tapping in the steps).
Thanks!
Wow just made an awesome discovery using Rock Drummer with BeatHawk.
If you wanna use BeatHawk as the drum sound module for Rock Drummer, first makensure to follow Samu’s midi setup instructions. Then go to BeatHawk’s Global settings and under Pitch mode make sure nothing is selected except for default Velocity. Then in Rock Drummer point its midi out to BeatHawk and load up the Drums IAP and wow! Drums sound huge!
In Rock Drummer I’m using the default GM midi out template.
When you tap the Beathawk icon button in the upper right corner it opens a general menu. Select the Enable Midi Learn Mode.
In Midi Learn Mode, you can see which parameters can be controlled by Midi CC. Flip through the tabs, and you also can map ADSR parameters, Filter Cutoff, etc.
So select (tap) the parameter you want to control, and BH opens and Midi CC list. Pick any number, just make sure it matches your CC number for the CC modulation source. To unmap, select None from the top of the CC# list.
So here is the catch...
Although BH listens to Midi Channels 1-16 and matches/sends them to Pads 1-16 (provided it is set up correctly to do so), it always listens to CC messages on All Channels, like CC messages are in Omni Mode. So a LFO on a specific Channel can be sent to ANY pad.
This is confusing as hell if you are trying to send 2 different LFOs to 2 separate Pads to control Volume, with both set to CC#7. You get both LFOs combined on both Pads.
So if you want to control each Pad separately using multiple CC sources, you have to assign a unique CC# to each CC modulation source.
I exported a song and I see it in the user folder in beathawk, but when I tried to access it through ifunbox it wasn’t in the app file sharing. ifunbox usually sees anything in there, has anyone else noticed that?
I also tried with itunes but it wasn’t seen that way either.
I want to import it to logic to add to a song.
Is the PX P10 a new IAP?
So if I were to control the volumes of each individual channel
I would have to assign different cc numbers for each pad
rather than having one global message being sent by
changing midi channel?
For instance
pad 1, cc 1, channel 1
pad 2, cc 2, channel 2
Usually it's the cc message sent directly to the midi channel
pad 1, cc 7, channel 1
pad 2, cc 7, channel 2
Okay cool.
Going to try that on the morrow.
Thanks.
Yes it is, dropped right after the sale ended
Never mind, I found an answer- you have to double tap on the file in the user folder within beathawk to actually export it. That’s not so smooth, but it did work.
But doesn't that send notes starting from C1?
And on Beathawk they generally start on C2 or C3?
First export the file from the 'Exports' folder (two finger tap on it) using iCloud - Export File to a location that you can easily access. (Export straight to iCloud for quick and easy access or another location on the iPad).
Thanks, I found that in a search after I posted. The manual doesn't mention the extra step of going to the user folder first, but all good, loop is in logic and working well.
Yes.
The Acoustic Drums IAP is hands-down my favorite acoustic kit on iOS. It sounds and works great with Funk Drummer. I wouldn't call it a "funky" kit though. You might have to mess around with the output mapping a little. I noticed some missed hits, probably because of notes being triggered that don't map to the Beathawk kit.
Oh, and yes, you can export Audio or MIDI from Funk Drummer.
Is it me or no expansion library appears any longer ?
Appears Normal for me. Stand alone and Auv3
+1 normal
@ecou, saying the obvious but those packs need to download. Is there a download button? I forget.
I’m seeing a bunch of goodies ready for purchase. Somethings up.
@LinearLineman You just touch the pack you are interested in, and there is a sample of the pack and an option to purchase.
I thins case, only the packs @ecou had already purchased were showing-up.
I meant the demo content needs to download into the app. Takes a while... reinstall?
At the top of your screen there’s a red bar. It is downloading the packs. Keep the app open and all the expansions will populate.
@Paulo164: If it appeared earlier and disappear now, that's strange... If it's never there, then it's downloading preview content, etc. like @Lil_Stu07 said. It will take quite a while though, surprisingly.
Thanks @Lil_Stu07 and the others, indeed the packs are appearing one by one if I keep that window open. Didn't wait long enough...
He should see the button to audition and buy them before downloading. That is what is missing. It should be there by default, no download needed.
I can confirm that on a fresh install your browser is bare. I have installed beathawk on multiple devices and had this same barren screen. But then noticed them loading one by one. The application still has to download all the previews. I suspect that upon launch there weren’t very many expansions and as time progressed they released more content, hence why these have to download.
He stated the were visible at one point.
For those interested, IAP soundpacks are again on sale. Don’t know if BeatHawk is free though.
