Are you on the very latest version (1.15)? Email me and we can discuss - [email protected]

I updated to 1.5 and it’s all good! Thanks

Just updated. Supposed to be more CPU efficient, but it still burns all resources like it’s mining crypto currency.

On iPhone 6s, but even moog model D is much more efficient on my device.

How are you measuring CPU usage? The number in AUv3 hosts is not always accurate. iOS devices will sometimes decrease total available CPU power in order to conserve battery life. This causes the number in AUM or other hosts to be higher than is actually is.

    sorry, double post

Here it is in AUM alone with only an audio loop.

Also, my device has a new battery.

  • @jolico your battery health is irrelevant. iOS devices have lots of optimizations in place to increase battery life, no matter how healthy your battery is. If you're not hearing crackles, pops, or audio glitches, then you're probably not actually at 100% CPU.

Actually it is crackling popping and glitching.

I am running AUM at 48kHz though. Could this be the issue?

Hmm, no it shouldn't be doing that. I've tested with a 6S that I keep on iOS 12 for development purposes. What iOS are you running?

    Latest iOS 13.5.1

Does the same after restarting the device.

Also tested with different bit rates and buffers in AUM (except for sample rate which is locked to 48kHz on my device)

I’ve tried all available buffer sizes in AUM from 256 frames and more. DSP stays at around 100%.

I have also tried it now at lower buffer sizes.
Very strange. At 64 frames the DSP has dropped to 90% (still very high, but also very weird) and it sounds great. No glitches.

Hey, how is the formant gender aspect? I want like over the top robotic sounding tones, not natural at all. Am I barking up the wrong tree and should get t-pain? This is a secret I've been holding back I really want to be britanny as a robot in 1980. Thanks!

It’ll sound pretty robotic with the speed turned all the way up. You might have better luck with a vocoder if you want something really over the top.

Any idea why I get this error?

    iPhone 8+
