  • Yeah. I hear ya!

Considering the introductory discount on the Mac version, if they charge another $19.99 for this amp, I'm totally out.

  • Yeah its like $100 off right now

  • If they decide to charge $19.99 again on this one, I'll just purchase the Mac version (for more) but have a much better experience for a minimal price increase.

I love Nembrini, but have grown rather tired of their IOS "pricing structure"

Hi SNystrom, could you please explain to me why you are tired of our “pricing structure”?
By the way, the iOS version will be out on July the 1st.

  • Excited for this one 🙌

  • Why certainly!
First of all, we’ve had to wait a week for the Sound Master while the Mac folks have had access to to it.

Then there is the introductory Mac price:

Now I don’t have a PhD in mathematics, but that appears to be an introductory discount of 78.83 percent!

Meanwhile in IOS-land, the most recent app releases have an introductory discount of ZERO percent. If you were a customer searching for an amp simulator and saw such a discrepancy, wouldn’t you have an issue as well?

Your products are unquestionably great. Your pricing policy, however, leaves me scratching my head. Perhaps your sales team should look into classes on marketing and price structure.

You give away an amp and some perfectly good pedals, then offer introductory prices on a couple of amps, and (apparently) now will offer zero discounts on any new IOS products in the future — while giving Mac users nearly 80 percent off new products.

Gosh, why would any iPad/iPhone owner have a problem with that? I’m totally dumbfounded!

At any rate, I still love your products and have bought all the amps that were released with their introductory prices.

I may be alone in this position, but I really rather doubt it.

Like many others, I also love the GE Labs app and the incredible number and variety of amps and pedals they offered for an introductory price that varied (by the number of presets offered) up to just under $50. I and many others here on the forum like it as much or better than Nembrimi — but to be fair it doesn’t yet offer Audio Unit support. Their price model was ingenious and totally unique!

For me at least, price does matter, and I think iOS music fans truly appreciate at least a modest discount on a new app — especially if the Mac version of the same app is offered at a nearly 80 percent discount.

  • Well said strom!

better if I avoid commenting. How old are you? do your parents know you go on the internet?

This is very rude and unpleasant to say. Speak for yourself, please.

  • This new amp sim isn’t for me and I will be passing on it, however the 8180 is a monster that I didn’t hesitate on buying just because of the great sound of the other sims I have. I don’t think it is fair to compare apples to... er... smaller apples.

    .

    Yup, would been!!!

Sadly you just couldn’t help yourself! 😉

  • I just wanted to say thanks for continuing your adventures in iOS music making Nembrini.

  • It's not fair to compare a purely software based company to be compared to a hardware company that makes software to encourage upgrades to their hardware. The hardware company can use the software pricing as a "loss leader" hoping to gain overall.

ToneBridge for example uses the software as a loss leader for their Ultimate Guitar tab service. They bought the software from a smaller outfit that cashed out. I'm sure their are other smaller developers that would cash out if there was a play.

On the desktop there are many amp sim offerings that work well in the top DAW's. On IOS it's still a unique proposition to have AUv3 as a feature. It's worth something to most of us.

But complaining might drive them to offer an introductory discount and that's good for users. Pricing
is a tricky business to get right and at this point Nembrini has released enough product to be able to predict with reasonable expectations and do the basic math of the payback period to achieve profit.

The more product Nembrini delivers the less likely we are to keep adding more amps but they will keep looking for new guitar hardware to

I suspect I'll want the Fender product and will pass on the 8180 due to my personal tastes. Overall
I like the Cali Reverb and the MHR810 in that order. The BST810 doesn't have the tube coloring I like.
PSA 1000 is an amazing all around tone workhorse and if mono is OK then PSA 1000 Jr is a great way to
go. The Stomp box FX'es all all useful. Everything is AUv3 and for me that's very important to stay in the DAW's GUI with a pop up control box. Leaving the DAW and app switching is a royal pain.

  • Me too!

I'm very happy they have decided to contribute to the iOS community.

I may have an issue with their pricing and marketing strategies, but they have created some excellent products and I fully support their future efforts.

Sounds right but to be honest that is not my concern. There are 2 issues for me. Is it a product I want? How much am I willing to pay for it? I guess what I'm saying is that the rest of the equation is a matter for the developer and I don't really care about it. For me it's totally fair to compare different apps because there are only 2 issues that concern me.

  • As I will be acquiring my first geetarrrrr :D at the end of this year, or before, I'm looking ahead at amp apps. From what I've seen and heard, I believe that this fender amp and the cali reverb will be my go to's and I will be acquiring them at a) the next sale or b) as soon as I get the guitar. Whichever comes first. If there is an intro price, I will be grabbing this asap as I missed the cali intro price because I had not a mind to acquire any steel, but I have since decided that a nice strat would go nicely into my building studio environment. Looking forward to playing with Nembrini amps in the near future. The all-in-one solutions seem too heavy on cpu from what I've played around with and I quite enjoy iFX rack, gain stage vintage clean and Klev's preamp sounds and the fact that they're AUv3's. GE-1 Labs seemed like it would be great, but no matter what buffer size I used i got awful crackling playing it with Pure Synth Platinum's Guitar Lead and OMGuitar. Amplitude seems to work quite nicely but it's not AUv3, and the fender bundles would almost equal what these 2 apps would. By the by, I'm running iPad Air 3, 256gb model, with over 120gb free. I feel lucky to have jumped into music production when I did, as the iOS scene seems to be booming with amazing apps. For what I've spent on iOS, I would only have been able to get a fraction of the VST's and DAWs on PC.

  • Wow, so very surprised there is at least one other person on earth who might possibly feel the same as me regarding introductory price discounts and purchasing when said discounts possibly occur....

    Who’da thunk it?!?!? 🙄

  • I thought your comment was fair @SNystrom, for what it's worth.

  • Thank you, @Gavinski

Hopefully the awesome folk at Nembrini will feel the same.

It’s not a huge issue in the grand scheme of things — just a hopeful wish for a great new iOS company to show at least a lil‘ of the love for us that they do for the Mac community...

  • The thing is for me, I play acoustic guitar, not electric guitar. I don't use these amps for guitar, I like them for colouring the sounds of synths etc. If they come out at cheap intro prices, I'm more likely to buy them even though I don't really need them. If they're coming out at 20 bucks a pop, that is too expensive for me. I'd imagine many people here are in the same boat.

  • Yeah, the $20 price point is a major barrier.

There are some great sounds you can get from various effects, but none of those cost $20.

Paying $20 for a single amp effect just seems a bit steep to me.

Perhaps others feel differently, and more power to them!

If enough pay full pop for Nembrini, then good for them.

I have other options I love, so ultimately it's no skin off my back.

Perhaps people would be willing to pay $137 for their iOS apps.

"Sound Master Custom iOS arrives July 1st! only $137!!!"

"Oh damn, what a bargain! I'll buy one for my iPad and then pay another $137 for the privilege of having one on my phone as well!" 🤣

  • People who just want one or two amps would have no problem with it, but the typical ios appaholic certainly will

  • Yeah, I truly pity the app "completists"

$30 here. What is the deal with that markup?

  • Better purchase now before they jack it up the the full $137! 😉

  • But seriously, it may be a price fluctuation due to the dollar exchange rate in your country...

  • Getting a surge in orders during the intro period is key to getting attention on the app, right?
So, I expect we'll see a discounted intro price but they could be shifting to a strategy like LumBeats has adopted with fixed pricing and rare sales.

  • Yeah, Dr. McD, I think you're right — as always! 😊

Hopefully they don't adopt LumBeats strategy.

Never purchased a single product from them until the recent sales. Since then, I've purchased all of their sale items and have been very happy with them.

Finding the appropriate price point is key in app sales. Some do it better than others, and the others eventually see the light and reach the proper price range for their products.

  • I think just the desktop prices are beyond good and evil and would never pay more than the intri price.
Well, they could sell the iOS version for 100 with 20 as intro. There you have your sale.
But indeed it sounds much for an app, even when there is a market. In desktop 137 is just crazy when most DAWs give you amps included which are nearly as good.
So the price on iOS is more realustic for me but also colkecting all these single FX counts and ger you beyond several 100 which is crazy.
I would pay 20 for an amp designer.

  • Bought it (the Windows version), love it, great price.
Made some sort of demo track, just to test its tone.
My guitar skills aren’t great, but the tone is.
    Recorded on PC.
Two guitar tracks (backing and solo both) with the Nembrini Sound Master amp plugin, effects added. Fender strat btw.
