Thank you so much for adding this per my request! Unfortunately I can’t do TestFlight since my devices are limited to ios12, which it won’t run on, but I look forward to this making it to the official update, so I hope it works out! But nonetheless thank you again for listening and already implementing at this stage!
I'll chime in with some feedback once I've had a chance to test the new features..
Appreciate that, friend! 🙏
You're welcome, just had a play around and the new features are working nicely, well done guys, really nice to have these two welcome additions to the workflow.. thanks for making the effort to include them.. @sinosoidal 🙏
Thanks for your feedback!
@xglax
Sorry for the late reply! I have tested the issue of hanging notes again with the latest beta version (in AUM). I managed to cause hanging notes several times within half an hour with different apps (Bassalicious 2, OPL, Moog Model D, SquareSynth). I don't use quantisation in the process, so that may be relevant. I use the Launchpad pro mk3 as my midi controller. And yes, I have already done a hard reset of the iPad several times.
It is unclear to me what is causing the hanging notes. Sometimes I can deactivate the synth plug-ins briefly to solve the problem. In one case, I noticed that apparently two identical notes (E2) at the beginning of the clip trigger the problem (see attached Ableton Set Export, Track 4, Scene 2). When I start this clip, I get reproducible hanging notes (E2). Is it possible that LK generates two notes on top of each other when the note is played just before recording starts? I can't explain why there are two identical notes on top of each other at the beginning of the clip....
In order to validate this problem we will need to set a common ground. We will need to use the same AUM version, and the same synth, preferreably in the same version as well.
Let me check with @xglax which of this synths we have. Then we will ask you to make a video where you start from the scratch, launching AUM, loading the synth, setting your routing, and reproducing the problem.
@sinosoidal
Thank you very much for the implementation of the functions "fixed length recording" and "record count down" which are very important for me.
Below some feedback on this:
Sorry but right there is no space to have that setting next to tempo. Don't forget that LK also runs on phones and the space is very limited on this kind of devices.
After some search it seems that Ableton Live itself does not have a setting for a default clip length (if it has, please let me know because I could not find it). Therefore I believe this is a feature that Push provides.
The problem is that you are using LK as a plugin inside a host. Ableton Live is the host itself. Right now we are not aware of any other way of making this happening but this might change the in the future as are always trying to find better ways of doing things and we learn a lot from users like you, that challenges our products and knowledge.
It is a valuable Push feature, not Ableton Live
We are going to upload a new beta with that feature too! @xglax is just polishing it out.
I have plenty space left on my small iPhone SE screen 😀
♥️🙌👍👻
speaking of premium Push 2 features: a auto ZOOM FIT mode (like on the push display) would be awesome! for example apply ZOOm FIT every end of a clip lenght or end of recording. I find myself pushing that icon after every loop I record. But maybe thats just me..?
I'm seriously impressed by your level of commitment to your product kudos guys👍
@Samplix
The latest beta includes the fixed length feature you were asking. Remember that the fixed length will only be applied when you create clips in record mode (this happens when you press a slot without a clip and the track is armed). Before, this action was creating a clip without a pre defined length. Now, with this setting, when the clip is created with recording, it will record until it reaches the defined length.
Regarding your request about the auto zoom fit, thats actually a nice idea. It makes sense at the end of a recording, but what do mean auto zoom every end of a clip length? Every time it loops?
Thank you very much
yeah, every time it loops would be very nice (for me)!!
& big up for your work!!
AUM & LK is becoming my mobile Ableton.
With my iConnectivity Audio4+ and the ability to export to Live Sets it is extremely powerful!
Nice. What ability to export to Live Sets?
You can export LK sessions and import them into Live.
Its a little bit hidden in the save button!
@Samplix
New beta with auto zoom fit when finishing recording new clips. For now this only happens in clips created with record (with or without record fixed length). For now we'll keep this as it is and see if there is any feedback. To apply this feature on clip looping , as you've also asked, there are other things to account for, and we don't want to rush the implementation.
Thanks for your suggestions
@xglax
Thank you so much for these fast and brilliant updates! The fixed lenght recording (now even better implemented), the record count down and the new auto zoom fit do make a big difference for my workflow! Finally I can make super fast a few loops as basis or sketch for a new song.
One small suggestion (if I may ) for the auto zoom fit (beside updating the auto zoom fit every time the clip loops): I would prefere to zoom the x-axis (time) from start to end (show all bars 1 to x). This means only the y-axis (the notes) need to be zoomed. But anyhow, it is allready very useful as it is in the latest beta! Thank you!
Yes, I think I would also prefer if the horizontal auto zoom would show the entire length of the clip
Niiiice
@Samplix @branis
In latest best, auto zoom applied when recording a new clip is bounded to the start and end of the clip. Thanks for the suggestion!
@xglax
thank you, works great!
Not everyone thinks in the same way:
