While we love to update LK, it is also important that our time investment into the app could generate a new source of income. Unfortunately, the amount of work is not proportional with our resources growth and the result is that we tend to iterate less frequently.

Following this line of thought, what unique feature would you be available to pay as a new in-app purchase?

If lk became an auv3 host I'd happily stump up for an iap, I'd be willing to spend 30 GBP or so for that to become a reality.. I love the Ableton style workflow and to have that with plugin hosting on an iPad would be amazing..

possibility for linear sequencing, being able to place clips on a time-line/edit on that time-line..

Full Mouse/Trackpad scrolling and zoom support, Name your price. Keyboard shortcuts/support as a bonus if it’s possible.

Standalone support for midi AU could be a great in-app purchase. It could be a stepping stone towards adding audio au in the future.

I’d like some of the MIDI features that I mentioned in my post at the top of the page but I don’t think any of these would be big enough individually to warrant an IAP. Maybe though they could be bundled with a few others as an “Advanced MIDI editing” suite, or something.

I would pay for matrix all over again if you added hold mode but probably just me 😂

  • Thanks for all your feedback. It was very important and enlightening.

We are working on something new at the same time we keep regular updates to LK, DRC, FRMS, VS and minor updates to DLYM, K7D, UBRIDGE and TKFX. It is not easy. We are only two programming. It is not possible to expand the team at the moment.

I will not uncover what we re working on because it is too soon but I'm pretty sure many of you here will find it very interesting. At least, that is our conviction!

Today alone I have seen several users requesting mouse and keyboard support. We will not make an in-app purchase to add mouse and keyboard support to LK, it does not make sense. We are not aware of this issue because we spend the time developing and the app and not using it. Therefore we would love to know what are the priorities in this particular aspect as we need to fit this as a progressive task.

One user shared with us the following input:

"I think that having a trackpad/mouse scroll, right click to pop up with a menu of most used features and left click to select/add a new note/delete selection will be a great addition + a keyboard will be cool with shortcuts for most features + having an option to use a few keys as a built in midi keyboard controller playing scales."

What else? What is the most important right now regarding mouse are keyboard support?

We’ve been in email contact about this: Saving the MIDI controller configurations as presets. Just one persistent configuration is not enough (for me) as I like to use different controller mappings in different scenarios. I am more than happy to pay for this as an extra feature.

  • Keyboard support for navigating the matrix could be a nice addition. Navigating using the arrows and then Enter to open a clip to edit it. Space to start/pause play.

On a related note, having step note for clips similar to Atom 2 would be great.

Sorry, I was not able to fit that feature into this sprint but it is on our list and no, it will not be a paid feature.

Actually I have a sense it is working now at least in the plugin. This was not working before, but I can now create an LK preset that is saved in AUM and holds the controller mappings. You must have fixed something here - thanks a lot !

Sorry typo. Step note input. Basically, an option to add notes to clips using an external keyboard, where notes are added incrementally to the piano roll based on the time division of the clip.

  • @sinosoidal I have a problem with the drop down menus of the Follow Actions and Transform Action: If I select any action and set it back to None, None remains grayed out and all other entries are not selectable because the menu no longer opens. Does this work for you or is this a bug? Occurs with stand alone and AUv3 as well as iPhone and iPad, both with LK 1.12.5, iOS 15.6.1

    @sinosoidal
is it possible to be able to include all clips at once, in the Background Track function. (This is something much appreciated in the timeline editors for FLSM and Auria, and would be every helpful here).

Adding one single Background Track to another track as is is a bit too fiddly, sliding the piano roll out of the way to tap the top of the clip to get to the pull down etc…

thanks for considering this, and forgive if i am repeating something from the first 118 pages, or have missed something in Settings

Can we get ‘crop’ to loop please… or am I missing something?
    Loving LT…
    Thanks..

@sinosoidal @xglax It would be nice to have an option to mute the keyboard when editing probability. I like to edit notes as sequences are playing.

  • Sorry, another thing came to mind, please add 1/64 to clip time divisions. Love some glitchy drums and ratcheting.

I second that. Much easier way of input for people like myself, who are not skilled piano players (live recording), and who do not like fiddling with piano rolls on touchscreens that much.

You can do that by clicking here:

It will crop to the current selection

Didn't understand this one. Muting the clip doesn't do what you're asking for?

When you set an action to none, loop amount is automatically set to zero. When loop amount is zero, follow action drop down menu is disable because you must have at least one loop amount in order for the follow action to be applied. In your case, you just need to give some loops and the drop down menu will become available again.

First of all, many thanks to the LK team for taking great care of the beautiful LK app!
It's so much fun to use and the best clip based AUv3 sequencer I can imagine.

If there is one thing I'd be allowed to ask for regarding the new follow actions and launch modes in general, I would love to see a third clip play mode:
    1. From Start
    2. Continue
    3. Punch In

The new "Punch In" mode would allow for the following scenarios:

    • Enabling playback of any clip while holding it, always playing the clip at the correct beat position with other clips. A clip longer than one bar would play from the same position like it had been playing since the beginning when hitting Play.
This would extend spontaneous clip playing to a very fun, playful live experience.

    • Spontaneous Punch-In recording on any clip just by holding the clip or holding a MIDI note for as long as recording should occur, overwriting existing notes on that clip.

This is similar to what @gregsmith has asked. Already added to the features list. When we have more time we'll see what we can do about this

  • Excellent @xglax, thank you very much! 😊

I'd like to be able to edit the probability while the clip I'm editing is playing without triggering the notes. Since editing probability requires clicking the keys on the piano roll, it causes the notes to sound. One option would be to not trigger the notes while editing probability, since in this situation, it's not necessary to hear the notes.

Thank you for adding the other requests to the features list. 😄

Ohh, I see. You can already do that. You just need to click here:

This will disable the notes preview, so when you click on the keyboard the note events won't be sent but you'll still be able to select the notes you want.

  • @xglax Thank you, knew I was missing something.

  • 1/128 division grid is even better as its universal on slower speed also (helium allows 1/128 triplets)

better PC automation (hard to set value, hard to change existed value to another, we need to see numbers)

Now iOS 16 is almost here.
One of the most missing feature is mouse support.
It’s impossible to scroll the matrix and others items using mouse wheel.
Hope they had mouse support in a future update.
