Not required, but of course adviced........Monster thread? The answer was 3 post above your post
Yes, it is tricky because different samples in Soft Drummer are often mapped to the same note and change depending on velocity - I assume his version of choke groups. Kind of a headache when pushing the rhythmic vibe into other apps. I was going to request someone write a Mozaic script for just this purpose, but then thought that it was too much of a niche request (and feeling guilty for not manning up and doing it myself). My non-Mozaic solution (for what it’s worth) would be to listen to the samples one by one in Soft Drummer. Determine which of them just seem to be louder and softer versions - keep those mapped to the same note. Remap the “different” samples in Soft Drummer to a different note. So an open hat would be mapped to a different note than a closed hat. Export midi. Assign the correct chokes in DigiStix if not there already. There is probably an easier way to do this.
Ok, no problem. Peace!
Cheers alb, I did start that but think I need to be as systematic as you suggest, might have more time with the iPad next week so might be a good opportunity to dig into it, or even think about that script, had a look at the dmx16 one but didn’t seem like it would quite work with the extra layers of ‘drummer’ - lovely built in sounds in any case
Hey @LuisMartinez when can we expect the update which will enable us to get the new drummer IAPs?
Still nothing showing in the App Store.
+1

Hours or days ?
Could it be Apple delaying approval ?
I like the idea of blaming Apple...they have been on my ***t list lately....
Still no update on the phantom IAP?
No update here.
Nope. Kinda weird tbh.
@LuisMartinez any news on the IAPs? Still not working in Soft Drummer.
I hope Luis is okay because this IAP bug has been left unattended for what, almost 2 weeks?
I love the app and am curious about the new sounds but every time I open it up and check the 2 IAP drummers can’t be purchased.
I second the hope and wish for @LuisMartinez’s well-being.
hope it isn’t a covid thing... maybe a copyright thing on the drummers ? just guessing , hopefully something more prosaic like a scheduled holiday or big budget coding deadline..
That’s what I mean, I hate even saying anything to jinx anybody. He’s just one of those devs that we all like and in turn he really listens and dips his toe in the forum every once in awhile. I wish him and everyone well and be safe...this is a completely new world we’re living in...
IAPs are available now. £4.99 each.
Excellent! (And very good news that @LuisMartinez is not — not even going to say it out loud.)
Now it would be nice to know what these drummers bring to the app!
Second your first thought and, secondarily, I await your answer to your own question
i got the clayton drummer. Its quite literally a faster drummer. Lots of ghost notes it seems like. Also comes with a new soundset which sounds pretty good. Dry and old school sounding.
I dont think ill grab any of the other soundsets, and most likely wont grab the joe drummer, based off the description. I dont really feel i need a "brush dragger".
All I hear with that description is the "Twin Peaks" scenes with Audrey dancing in a pleated skirt and saddle shoes.
In other words, SOLD.
Are you sure you're not an English public school boy?
Yes! the new drummers are great. For slow, soft jazz you often want a brush dragger.
Still searching for a muted trumpet that captures the essence of Mile's "Out of the Blue".
hahaha.
(I did go through a heavy XTC fixation around the time of "English Settlement." Does that count?)
I bought Joe the Dragger and while he isn't quite as much Midnight Cowboy as I might have initially hoped, you can get some steady value out of him. Kerouac would approve or say go daddy etc. Now to figure out how to turn him into a hip-hop dragger...
So after this update, an AUM session I had been using with Soft Drummer suddenly isn't working. Soft Drummer makes no sound, and MV08 makes a hideous screeching until it is removed from the channel. ("Audio Unit invalidated" is the message from AUM.)
Before the update, SD responded to the AUM transport. I have no idea why this would have any effect on MV08, but clearly the update broke something.
@LuisMartinez
Seriously, what's going on here? Soft Drummer won't make a sound in AUM. I can get it to play in standalone, just fine. What am I doing wrong?
